The stars are only for our server who made sure our drinks were filled. Other than that we had a horrible experience here due to wait times. Arrived at 5:50 and was able to get sat down for 3 of us, 2 adults and 1 child right away. Ordered our food as soon as the waitress came to take our drink orders. We know when we go out we don't have a lot of time t sit around with kids. We sat there for an hour and 20 min for their specials! An hour and twenty minutes, for a burger, chicken strips and their steak which was their special. Never coming here again read more

Best small town restaurant in Kansas. We stopped in here for dinner and it was fantastic. Chicken fried steak was delicious. I had mashed potatoes and a side salad. The salad was cold and fresh. This establishment used to be the best around Mitchell County and vicinity, with excellent steaks and reasonably good other stuff. Now it has devolved, with mediocre food and shrinking customers. (located downstairs called the Down Under) The menu was pretty much American comfort food with some Tex Mex tossed in. I opted for a Hawaiian Burger. To be honest I don't know what the food tastes like. Maybe it's good I don't know but the service is poor and that's an understatement. We sat for 33 minutes and did not even get asked for a drink. As we were leaving one of the waitresses said "their loss". When we informed the owner be didn't seem to care. Either about the poor service or inappropriate behavior by the staff member. We drove an hour specially to come here because we heard it was good food. read more

I've been here countless time for lunches and dinners with large and small groups over the past 10 years and through their move to the new building. In north central Kansas at US highway 24 or KS highway 14 near Beloit some evening? Stop! and pull into town. There is a ribeye steak calling your name at Plum Creek Meats. You can only order steaks in the evenings when the grill is fired-up. I always make it a point to go here at least once when I'm in town. Horrible service. We wanted to use the party room but they said it was already reserved. Which this would not have been a problem but the people who reserved the party room were two hours late! But they still wouldn't let us in. We decided we would wait. After about 45 minutes of waiting we decided we would leave. And they didn't even try to stop us as we walked out! Great food! Equally great wait staff and always a filling meal. Try the steaks with Montreal seasoning for added flavor. Steaks are cut fresh everyday and burgers are pattied fresh everyday as well. No frozen meat here! Monday's and Tuesday's are usually a homemade special at lunch time and is exceptionally good! Nice clean family style restaurant. Great menu. Great friendly efficient service. I ordered the chicken alfredo - the half serving is huge. My husband ordered the heiss n burger. Both were delicious.
