I want to say that the employees here all the ones I've encountered up until yesterday have been amazing they are really nice fast paced and I really have no complaints but yesterday I had the unfortunate luck of meeting Ruben the manager, I am genuinely shocked at how he can be a manager so lazy didnt want to help us at all and completely dismissed me and my husband and said we cant do it try again on Monday, I go in today (friday) the amazing workers help me out and get it done within 15 mins because they actually wanted to do their job, thank you to the amazing girls who helped me today at around 1pm (I didnt get a look at her name tag) but you ladies deserve to be managers read more

I wouldn't recommend this awful place, not only is working and seeing the manager and some supervisors treat the hardworking employees difficult to see but how the manager manages certain tasks is downright unprofessional and needs to be looked into. I give this place a 0/10 cause of the manager and some strict supervisors but a 10/10 to the employees by the window for displaying perseverance under an unskilled and unprofessional higher ups. read more

They are quick and they get you in and cash your check with efficiency , it's best to create an account with them so they can help you faster and they offer a debit card . Thanks PLS read more

I cannot express the level of outrage and disgust I feel toward this business! Checks (STOLEN from my mail) were cashed here with ZERO verification or due diligence. How do you even operate as a financial institution when you can't do the bare minimum to ensure the checks you cash are legitimate? Your recklessness has cost me hours of stress, financial headaches, and the invasion of my personal security. Do you even train your staff to verify ID properly, or is fraud just an everyday occurrence in your establishment? I demand answers as to how this was allowed to happen and what you're doing to ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else. Until then, I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and encouraging others to avoid your irresponsible, careless operation at all costs. read more

ANNOYED....First time here and came in to get a money order. One of the clerks came out to announce in Spanish (that I'm not that fluent in) to create a new line on the side for money orders only. I had already waited in line for 15min and had 4 more people ahead of me to then find myself in the back of the NEW money order line with 11 people ahead me after they all rushed over....She was trying to help the wait but she could have done it a lot better while asking people to maintain their place in line... A few of us were behind bars in the main line so we couldn't rush there as fast as the others. 25min later I make it to a clerk to be helped...nah fam, That's not how you cater to ALL of your guests. Next time, have a sign up permanently or take the people in the main line 1st, then ask everyone else to follow behind. Never coming here again! read more

5 stars for 24 hours. I came in on a Saturday night around 530 pm and the line was so long!! There was literally 23 people ahead of me but it was the only place open and I needed to cash my check. Surprisingly, the line went by super quick! I waited for no more than 20 minutes and if I was there any longer it's because it was my first time and the check reader wasn't working. For all the bad reviews, I was already irritated when I walked in but I walked out with no problem and the service was great. All the females that were working that night were all trying to get the line going as quick as possible and all friendly. Thanks. Ps. They charge less than ace cash when cashing check. They charge me $13 while ace charge me $32 read more

I'm a regular customer of pls always have a good experience but today at 6:20 am these two ladys very unprofessional criticizing customers laughing talking has if I have all day to wait on them and has I left the window being rude worst experience read more

The hours are incorrectly listed here. They are actually open 24/7. If you need to cash a check and don't have a bank account this is the place to do it. They don't need to have your workplace open to verify the funds are available unlike some meaning they can cash it at any hour. The staff is friendly and helpful and know what they're doing. Western union is available along with a few other things. read more

Went in for the first time to get a money order. The staff was super nice and quick. Will return.

Ever wonder what could be your worst experience in the world of the customer service? Please check out the PLS Financial Services to find out for yourself! Long lines, endless wait time and understaffed business - that's all true, as it was mentioned in previous reviews. The worst part - is when you finally get to the window after all of this nightmare. Apparently no one here knows a meaning of "being professional" at the workplace. The attitude they give you, the rudeness of their tone, the comments in between themselves right in front of the customers - woah! Not a first time here, I've seen it A LOT! And now, tell me please, what is the point of the WesternUnion app if they are not able to find the transaction that you've already started and you have all of the information right there on your phone? And they don't allow you to do a cash transaction in person as well because you've initiated your transfer online. Genius, right? Oh, forgot to mention - your associate is the Manager Assistant Henry. Great level of skills in the upper management, bravo ;)! read more

The place sucks. Like all the way outside and only one window is open. Rest of them kickin back on their phones in the back read more

PLS Financial Services - Suckiest place to send money - Check Cashing/Pay-day Loans Near Me - Van Nuys, California

The worst experience in my life. Even though I come here often because they open 24 and I have time to come only at night but the customer service is really not only unprofessional it's rude and no one gives a **** about you. We came here with my wife to send money to our country. And after a long line at the end of our process they told us they can not accept the money because I gave it to my wife to pass to the cashier. They told us they cannot accept it anymore. Ok, I get it. Policy. I come back and started the process again. Guess what, they can't find my phone number (I did it through western union app) Ive always done it the same way for years! And they can't find it? Ok! I asked them if I could do it without app and No again! Really? And that's the manager of this place. Omg read more

Terrible customer service. The agents sit there and have personal conversations when a customer is right in front of them. They are terribly slow and there is always a line.. only good thing is that their money orders are free read more

Bull shit always same thing as last post. 12 people in line and only 2 cashiers..i wish they would get more help are something..

If it wasn't for the fact they are 24hrs I would never go here.. They literally have 12 windows but never more than 3 people actually working the windows...I'm here right now in a line of over 12 people with only one person actually working the other two just literally walked away with their drawers leaving one person to handle a store full...trash read more

Extremely slow, why offer a check cashing service where your employees can't cash a check over $500 without approval from a manager who isn't even there? Go elsewhere if you're in any type of hurry read more

This place is 24 hours which is great! We came early in the morning, so there were only a few people in line. After some light investigation of proof of work and inputting you in the system, my friend was able to cash her work check within a matter of 10 minutes. It also had a very budget friendly fee. If you need to cash a check right away, I suggest coming here. read more

Very pleasant surprise. I came in to get a money order. Upon going to the counter and getting my money order Levi's me that don't charge for money orders very nice. We also have DMV services here so you don't have to sit on DMV until you know for four hours. Very nice service. Only warning, don't use the ATM, it's expensive $2.75 read more

Awesome spot of you need a money order they offer them for free if you have an account and the staff is extremely friendly

Very Very Slow Staff and poor management, corporate should come on down and see how long these lines are, this was even before the Pandemic had hit. sometimes they'll have 5-6 employees and have 2-3 windows open. takes over 10 minutes to cash a check. wish i had a closer check cashing next to me but this has to do. read more

This place has horrible service. Point blank period. Yesterday I went to use their western union services and i was told that they aren't working. I was even told that the service isn't working at any other place either. Luckily i had a little bit of money to last me. Went again today, and told again that they aren't working. It sounded really fishy to me so i called western union customer service and lo and behold, there's NOTHING WRONG with their systems. I went to a liquor store and had no issues with getting my money. This place is trash. read more

After the experience I had today it was incumbent upon me to write this review based on how well they serve the customers. They were courteous & professional at best.I have patronize PLS for years & have always received nothing but respect. They service you with a smile and the conversation is always pleasant. Today I went in to cash 2 checks and get a money order & by the way, the money orders are free! I was serviced by Kimberly(the cashier) and the manager (Ashley) who worked as a team and I must say Ashley is the best negotiator! They would not let me leave until I was satisfied, and I was! Great job ladies! read more
