AMAZING and lovel customer service. I had trouble understanding why the amount wasn't adding up and Maribel Brito beautifully explained everything and i was able to understand every step and why the amount was short. She offered wonderful advice and made sure all my questions were answered so I am aware for the next check I receive. WHAT?! I'm the 1st to review a PLS store?! You people should be ashamed of yourselves for not reviewing before me, and I'm going to explain why. At PLS stores, the employees are very friendly and knowledgeable. ALL PLS stores offer free, yes, that's right, free money orders, unlike the majority of traditional neighborhood currency exchanges. All PLS stores have NO real check-cashing policies. It doesn't matter if you live in the area of the location or not. Just show a current photo ID such as a state ID or drivers' license and your check, and you are good to go! A lot of currency exchanges I've walked into over the years want you to live in the area to cash checks, or, they don't cash checks issued more than 7-10 days. This is SO NOT the case at ANY PLS store. Most PLS stores are open 24 hours, unlike many neighborhood currency exchanges. Most PLS stores are fully stocked with transit passes. They hardly ever run out as far as I know! PLS now has its OWN prepaid Visa debit card, and no other currency exchange in this area offers that. Monthly cost $6.95. Not bad at all. And because I'm such a huge fan of PLS, I'm definitely going to purchase one in the near future. Watch me! read more

Well let me start off, about give or take two years ago a visited this location to load my Pre paid card, if you didn't know PLS offers a good prepaid card that I use for my online shopping (I was told by the rep that it would be more secure incase I was not sure about the site). any who the young lady that took care of me was really rude and had some type of attitude because I asked her if she could update my card information because I had just moved. she also kept talking to an older lady to my guess personal things non work related. I did not say a word I just decided that next time I would go to the Western location that is not that far from this said location. now to present day, I decided to give this location another try. two years does change the staffing a lot. I did not recognize a single person it like if there staff was replaced by nicer kinder people. well I went in to cash my check the young lady that took care of me was really nice, she kindly asked if I had cashed with them before which I had not due to my decision to stop doing business with them years prior. but she had told me that I was still on file and was able to update my information that way if I came back it would be an in and out process. she also reminded me of the different services they offered, and asked me if I was going to require any other transaction for the day. I do not remember her name but this young lady changed my perspective on the location, and I will be returning to continue my transactions. I just had to give a compliment to the young lady in front of her manager and let the manager know that she had an amazing staff. read more

I am taking the time to write this review because I don't want others to suffer as I have as a result of doing business (and I use the terms very loosely) with this company. This is a horribly mismanaged business. They hire "kids"; therefore, the level of professionalism is quite low. I had one of their "kids" call me up and address me as "Ruthie," in a very familiar tone. My name is Ruth, not Ruthie! What's more, their system of intra-company communication is non-existent. One office in one state does not communicate with the other, so they do things like list your loan as delinquent in Chicago when it is listed as not delinquent in Texas, but Chicago will cash your check that is being held as collateral for a loan even though you have made and make your loan payments on time. And they will report erroneous information on your credit report. Because the people who work for them are incompetent, you will find it necessary to complain to the Federal Trade Commision before the matter winds up on the desk of someone in the organization who can satisfactorily respond to your concerns and correct the problem. This company is bad news, and I would hazard to guess that they will not be able to sustain a viable business with this kind of shoddy business practices. read more

just used the pls on roosevelt road & they are great! easy in & out..staff very helpful & professional & their rates are very reasonable for payroll check cashing. started off w/ walmart & they turned into a dud! too many restrictions like can't cash a check over a month old & checking credit (turned just my 2nd pr check down)! too many hoops to go thru. pls is convenient & now that i am in their system i am good to go! thank you..great company...great people working there! read more
