A live auction of multiple glass collections was occurring in a large area in the back of the store. It looked like they would be there all day until I heard the auctioneer rattling off the items. He sold 3 items in less than 5 minutes. Seventy different vendors showcase their collections. It is obvious that the store's owner has high presentation expectations. You can see each item in display cases. The store isn't cluttered or smell musty. The store doesn't accept AE and I didn't have a check. The store owner called the vendor who accepted Paypal. The vendor delivered my purchase to my hotel. I spent about an hour wandering through this store ... delightful.

Well - this seems like the way Antique places are heading - where it's not just one antique store,…read morebut rather a bunch of little areas within that have items from various antique vendors. It's not a bad idea and not the only place like this that I've shopped, but the pricing in here seemed to be higher than most placed I've been to. The selection is huge, but sometimes the stuff inside really might have been better tossed out. I also don't like areas where there is stuff for sale and stuff not for sale - get the not for sale stuff out of the selling area - this is just a poor business practice. Turns out that I found two items that I wanted - one was a simple canoe paddle that was well over my spending limits and the other item wasn't for sale :(

To say I enjoy estate sales is an understatement. There are SO MANY treasures to be found! One…read moreperson's trash is certainly another treasure, and Stewart Estate Services has a great collection of interesting items. What I really like about it is many fold: 1) this one building contains the former belongings of like 100 grandmas, so you don't have to wander (drive) to several houses to browse, which lets face it can consume most of one day; 2) the treasures are abundant! They had everything from vintage clothing to furniture to books to toys. Really, a ton of stuff! I'm always partial to kitchen items, my wife gravitates to books and records. There were even 2 old dollhouses here, which I loved for a friend who collects dollhouses! 3) no one pressures you, or rushes you. We spent quite a while in here, searching and sifting, and we probably could have spent way more time if we'd been patient ourselves. If you enjoy estate sales and flea markets, you MUST scope this place out. They have limited hours, only on the weekends, which I'm grateful for because it's tough to get out during the week. It's easy to get to, there's plenty of parking, and you might find some cool treasures, like C & I did!

Brenda put hours and hours into our online sale. She did an amazing job. Brenda is very knowledgeable and professional. She also traveled over an hour to do our sale. When Brenda was done our home was empty and ready for the new owner. I can't say enough about how hard Brenda worked. We could not have accomplished this without her. I highly recommend Brenda, you will not be disappointed. I talked to other companies and only from Brenda did I get a good vibe and knew I could trust her with our estate sale. Her commitment is beyond what you would ever expect.

TLDR at bottom of post…read more Just had a very disappointing experience at HALLENBACK ANTIQUES in Frewsburg. I will preface this post by saying that I do not care if you have a different opinion that me on things such as politics, religion, anything. I have people in my life that I care about that are polar opposites than me and I always welcome discussions with people that think differently than me. That is how we grow and learn. What I do NOT tolerate is blatant discrimination. Many of you know I love to find good deals, and antiquing and estate sales are some of my favorite ways to have fun. When I entered this store today I hoped to find some amazing items to decorate my home with. What I ended up getting is a picture of an overpriced mirror I was interested in, and feeling like there is still so much hate in this area. As soon as I walked in the store, the worker (I'm assuming the owner) was at the jewelry counter watching a television with the screen and volume clear, loud, and visible to incoming customers. It was a Christian news media. I am not a Christian but many people I love are and I am not offended by other peoples beliefs. Especially when faith is so very important during the holidays. (I went to a estate store last week where the radio was talking about god's love and murdering Hillary Clinton for the greater good, and I still had an enjoyable shppping experience, so no I am not a snowflake.) This particular station was doing a newspiece on how evil the "homosexuals" are and how it is a sin to engage in any homosexual behavior, as well as using fearmongering tactics to share how dangerous gay people are. I heard this, and looked to the employee and simply said "that is an interesting this to have playing when you have customers in the store!" I was very polite, hoping that he just didn't realize what was playing. even though he was obviously listening intently, which can only mean this is a reflection of his personal beliefs. The man looked at me and shrugged, stating that "oh, I just always leave the Christian station on." That is not an excuse - have your Christian media on all you want. I don't care. I'll still love you and I'll still support your small business. But when he heard that newspiece, which had clearly started long before I walked in the store, he should have turned off the TV until that segment was over. And especially turned it off when a customer said something. He did not turn off the TV, we looked at each other for a moment, and I walked out the door. My presence in this world is not offensive and neither is anyone else's. If you own your own business, you absolutely have the right to share whatever content you want and to believe whatever you want. I don't care. It's your god-given right. My god-given right is to inform people that may shop there what kind of people they are supporting. TLDR; if you think gay people are cool, do not shop at HALLENBACK ANTIQUES or go to their estate sales.
