I reached out letting the owner know I was interested and…read moreasked if the items were still available, understanding that I might not be the first to comment. The lister then said that it WAS available - this was after the shop had already closed for the evening by the time we were communicating. I was working out with the owner when I could pick up based on her open hours - telling her my best convenience but ultimately letting her know that I'd rework my schedule with whatever works for her since it was something my daughter really needed. She said she'd get back to me in the morning with the time that would work. I didn't hear from her so I checked my messages to see that she marked the item as sold. I, of course, figured she had marked it sold for me (giving her the benefit of the doubt) and asked her if she had figured out when I could grab the items and she told me she had sold it. In hindsight, there was one red flag when we were communicating as she said "a ton of people want it". If that was the case, then I imagine it wasn't really available and/or we were being scammed. I was disappointed to say the least. If she had told me that I had to get it the second she opened, I would have called off work to grab it. She didn't. She simply said she'd get back to me with the time that worked for her. If it wasn't available, she should not have said it was. This is not how a shop with integrity works.

Things you can find here: comic books, tie dye shirts, old books, lots of trading cards , taxidermy, dead insects, art, toys, pogs, knives, cds, furniture, records, vinyls, two headed turtle, autographed books and portraits, t shirts, pins, nazi artifacts, World War Two era items, etc.

My husband and I were on an escape-the-kids road trip for a few days that brought us through the…read morequaint Warren PA area. We stopped specifically to check out a used bookstore that was unfortunately closed, even though their posted hours said they would be open. Oh well, we turned kid-free lemons into kid-free lemonade and strolled the town to explore other shops on the main drag. This brought us to Warren Antiques & Giftware. The shop is a decent size, with three floors that offer a variety of independent vendor stalls selling all sorts of mostly second-hand goods. The front of the store has a small food area with novelty candies, nuts, condiments, and snacks, some locally made. Then the rest of store is a mishmash of antiques, decoratives, toys, games, collectibles, crafts, housewares, furniture, lawn and garden items, fashion accessories and apparel, books, artwork, and a little bit of everything in between. Prices were mostly reasonable, some vendors more reasonable than others. I found a pair of jean shorts I liked for six bucks. My steal of a find was a zip-up puffy denim jacket in great shape for five bucks! I also found a slate wall hanging with a pink flamingo painted on it for ten bucks that I got for my dad for Father's Day. My husband grabbed a few books and found a new paperweight that was a globe sealed inside a resin hexagon that was neat for six bucks. We wandered Warren Antiques for quite a while, milling about the aisles of odd and interesting items. If you have time and enjoy to browse, you'll surely enjoy yourself here, too. The checkout staff was very friendly, (and particularly enamored with my five dollar puffy denim jacket find, too!). We had a great time (without kids!) at Warren Antiques! Whenever we pass through the sweet little town of Warren PA again, we'd enjoy stopping back in to see what's new on the shelves.

I've gotten several pieces from this store as gifts as well as shopped for others for gifts here and will continue to do so. I remember buying a Boyd Bear one time with my allowance. Over Thanksgiving, we decided to stop by for the first time in quite a while! Have to say, a lot of it seems very familiar and I am always impressed on how much they can get in there and how it is organized/decorated. A lot of care goes into it. I don't really recommend it for strollers/those with mobility issues/small children as the aisle spaces can be narrow and much in reach to accidentally be bumped. The rooms just keep on going and take up even more of the plaza than I remember! Most all of the items seem like they are of really good quality. I would say in general things are a bit pricey for Jamestown, but there are various price points and many things to buy in various price ranges. As per the name, most items have a more rustic/country/antiqued look to them. This isn't really my mom or my decorating style, but we still found items that we liked. They carry everything from curtains, lamps, wall art, pillows, quilts, decorative containers, candles, ornaments and more for home decor. There was also a large Vera Bradley section, as well as some other bags and accessories with a bit of a vintage/historical flair. If you are driving through the area, it is a neat place to check out that carries a lot of different things that you won't find at the big box stores.
