Writing as a carnivore who believes vegan options can *always* be tasty and well-textured, I wanted to love PLNT, but most of our meal just wasn't great. First, service was prompt and friendly. I appreciated being told approximately how long the wait would be, which made it a breeze to take care of a few shopping items in store. And one part of the meal was fantastic--details to follow... I ordered chili, a fiesta burger, a BBQ burger, sweet potato fries, and a cookie for dessert. The chili was room-temperature. It was the sweetest I've ever eaten, and that's not good. It had a pleasing hint of cumin, but no spice. Its toppings were bland and its texture was mushy. Neither burger was good. The patties' consistency was almost exactly the same as the buns, so they're also a very mushy bite. The cheese didn't work (see pic). It was flavorless and simply fell apart--true for the burgers and the chili. The BBQ burger had nice caramelized onion inside. Its bacon flavored bits were a touch smoky, but not salty or bacon-y. The sauce was sweet without being tangy, vinegary or flavorful beyond its sweetness. Better texture for the patty and the toppings would've helped with the bland flavors; or, sharper, more distinct flavors would've helped compensate for the texture. The fiesta burger is a big opportunity. Under the hood (see pic), it's lackluster--neither colorful not flavorful. Being about 20' away from a good produce department, I hope PLNT can get some fresher ingredients to spice up this patty. Crisp lettuce or other toppings would help with the consistency, too. Sadly, the cookie didn't work out either. It's hard to do those right without butter or eggs, and the tendency, as here, is to go heavy on the oils. The result is dense, with a sawdust-y mouth feel and no strong chocolatey flavor from the chips to rescue it. All that said, here's what you go for: the sweet potato fries. These often disappoint with a stodgy consistency, lack of flavor, and usually both. And I was apprehensive when I saw how thick these are. But! They arrived fresh, hot, crispy and wonderfully fluffy inside. Their salty, herbed coating tasted great by itself, and with the aioli or ketchup too. I'd absolutely order those again anytime. Regrettably, that was also the only part of the meal we finished. (And...why are the utensils and condiment cups plastic??) Overall, an unfortunate amount of compromises on flavor and texture left me wishing for a fresher vegan experience.

I've only had PLNT Burger a handful of times, but this was my first time eating it on site. I got the vegan chili which is DELICIOUS! There's this sweetness in the chili that really goes well with the cheese and sour cream that's put on top. I mix it all together and the only downside is that those ingredients cause the chili to cool down extra fast. Thankfully Whole Foods has microwaves! I also got sweet potato fries... I ordered a small, but I think I got a large by mistake. I consider it an early birthday gift XD. I never feel like I have enough of that maple mustard! Anyways, the service was timely and the staff were really nice! PLNT Burger is a great spot for vegan fast food.

I would give this a place a 5 based on how fast the service was and the taste of the food. Honestly, I'm a big meat eater and may not purchase this exact burger but it wasn't bad! I didn't want to subtract stars because back in my vegetarian days I definitely would have been salivating over it! The fries are the super star of this meal. I love a crispy fry and this did its thing. It was seasoned well and the portion size was good. I think the price is reasonable for a non- meat option too!

PLNT Burger is a 100% vegan business offering your favorite fast food items in a plant based way. They always have a seasonal burger on the menu, standard hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, and a fish sandwich. Their French fries are some of the best in fast casual dining. I love that not only is this business vegan owners, but the owners are passionate about animals and are always willing to fundraise for nonprofits in the area. My go-to menu item is their cheeseburger with herby fries and lemonade. I always try their seasonal burger though because it never disappoints.

Love this local-based chain of plant based food. It's super convenient inside Whole Foods so I can get groceries and some prepared food. Their hours are less than the hours Whole Foods is open, but the window is around lunch until close and works pretty well. The favorite here is anything with ice cream- milkshakes, push pops, ice cream soft serve. Yes please! I like their portions- they are normal and perfectly sized so you don't feel like you just had a bucket of calories to sit in your stomach. They have all the "fast food" you might crave, but in a better for your stomach, mind, heart and planet kind of way. They have chicken nuggets with fun dipping sauces to choose from, as well as burgers with toppings galore - choose your classic or classic cheeseburger or dress up with some mushrooms or onions, etc. My fav, though, really, is the ice cream and the quinoa crunch salad with cashew dressing, complete with coconut, sugar snap peas, cashews, cabbage and red peppers. Yum! Couldn't ask for a better salad from a place that focuses on veg meat options! The fries are also awesome- regular herb potato and sweet potato slightly sweetened and spiced. So good! So good! The onion blooms are also a treat, but they do feel very heavy- as they are deep fried onions! Very tasty though! They have burgers, too, if that interests you. Miikshakes have monthly specials! The sizes are not huge, so, calorie-wise, you'll feel better. Also, it's so convenient inside Whole Foods. You can pre-order through the app, which is easy. You can also place your order and do your shopping, so that's nice, and pick it up when you're done shopping. The folks here are very helpful to answer your questions.

Helping our planet out with healthy food alternatives is a mission I can get behind. Spike Mendelsohn's plant base alternative burger has been on my must try list for awhile. Whole Foods opened their first PLNT Burger near me, in their Rockville store, on Woodglen Avenue. I would definitely say three and a half stars for PLNT Burger. The people helping out today were wonderful, just as nice as can be. There was a line for service and Jonah helped place your order on the kiosk. He was so sweet and accommodating. The line moved quickly and the chef was there to answer any questions. My order came out in about 5 minutes. The PLNT Burger packaging was cute and colorful and I was surprised by the variety of menu items. I ordered the meal box that came with the burger, fries, and a drink. I ordered the strawberry and rhubarb drink. I was not a fan. Maybe, it was the rhubarb, but it had an after taste, and I would opt for something else next time. The burger itself was delicious and truthfully, I couldn't tell that it wasn't made of meat. My only issue was the size of the patty. It was very small. I would recommend making it a double patty or thicker burger. The bun, tomato, lettuce, and pickle were great accompaniments. I ordered the sweet potato fries and when, I snacked on one or two on the way home, they were awesome. But, after a 15 minute car ride home, even with a few minutes warming up in the toaster oven, they did not come back to life. So, my forgone conclusion is that this is a meal that should be eaten there, or some place close by. I would definitely return to try some new menu items and my cookie was MIA, so I would like to give that a try. Also, the soft serve ice cream looked very inviting. This opens a whole new world of plant based alternatives. : )

Carnivorous Meat Eater Must Try Plnt Burger Excited, to finally try Plnt Burger. They just moved into my neighborhood. It's a local vegetarian/vegan vegetable burger chain that's slowly expanding. Happy that there are more healthy alternatives to eating meat. It's was their Grand Opening at this location, on August 14,2021. So the first 100 ppl get a free burger, to celebrate this awesome occasion. It's a very diverse crowd of healthy lifestyle ppl, mom and kids, to the curious shopper seeking to try this new "fast food" vegan option. I had the breakfast sandwich, with vegan egg substitute and Beyond Beef Vegan Patty, with Sweet Potato fries and non-dairy Chocolate Ice Cream. It was all delicious and I could swear I had real eggs, real meat and real eggs, it was so tasty and delicious. I'd recommend you try it out, even if you are a carnivorous meat eater.

The bottom photo is how mushroom bbq burger is supposed to be prepared. The top photo is what I got at this location.

I've been a regular at PLNT burger since the very first launch in Silver Spring, so I'm very familiar with their menu and its usual taste and presentation. While I'm a huge fan of PLNT Burger, I'm disappointed that this location doesn't meet the same standards as others. On my first visit, I ordered the chili fries, but they lacked chili sauce entirely, leaving the fries dry with just ground plant-based meat, beans, cheese, and tomatoes. Giving it another chance, I ordered my usual, the mushroom BBQ bacon burger, only to find an undercooked patty and toppings that didn't resemble the menu photo or what's served at other locations. There are some quality issues that need to be sorted out at this particular location.

It was wonderful just as if it was real meat!!! Definitely worth eating again!!! A little to know for someone who know nothing about the area.... It's located inside Whole Foods which was cool but shocking for me.

I came to find this place through a recommendation on Reddit and after looking at the many positives reviews on yelp and google, I just knew I had to come eat here. The interior had an older timely feel and was very spacious with many table around that could hold a big party if needed. For appetizer, we ordered the steam dumplings and for the entree we had the pineapple fried rice & the crispy orange chicken with broccoli. The dumpling came out fairly quickly and tasted good. Dip that dumpling into that sauce to elevate that flavor. The pineapple fried rice portion was decent and the taste was amazing. Season perfectly and you can see the chef cooking in the back through a small window, I see him using that wok technique to give my fried rice that " wok hay smoke flavor". For the crispy chicken it was cook nicely and come with a bowl of rice. Rice mix with the sauce and eaten with the chicken was tasty. The staff were very friendly and refilled our water when it was low, very attentive to our needs. All in all, had a positive experience here and would highly recommend anyone to come and try some amazing food here atleast once.

Since you order from a kiosk, it seems that could be straightforward, with the price adjusted based on what you add in, but I guess not here. That will limit the number of times I come here, because I prefer the option for variety. Ordering vis kiosk also doesn't allow you to order the sauce "on the side," which is another unnecessary (IMHO) limitation.

However, there was a bit too much rice and carrot in my opinion this time. Still thought it was pretty good. I also ordered the Japanese Katsu Curry Bowl. I've gotten this one before too and thought it was really good, but today I found the curry a little bland, and again, the rice-to-protein ratio was way off (too much rice). A random search for vegan donuts in Germantown led to this. I was surprised I'd never heard of it…read morebefore, but then I realized they don't have a storefront -- they run out of their house! So one random week I decided to contact them just to inquire about their prices, flavors and such (I found this info on their website). They actually didn't respond until over a week later, and I realized it was because they were out of the country! So they let me know when they would be returning and so I contacted them again then. By some insane twist of fate, the day they said to contact them also happened to be National Donut Day -- obviously a sign. It turns out they don't have delivery right now (probably because they just returned?) so I had to arrange a pickup. They're $4 a pop, so I decided to just get half a dozen: Cinnamon Sugar Chocolate Oreo Mango Pistachio Rose Raspberry Pina Colada I arrived at the house, waited a few minutes, and the man came to the door with the donut box in hand. The donuts looked awesome too! Then I went to my sister's and surprised them with vegan donuts for the special day -- great feedback all around. I didn't get to taste every single one, but the chocolate oreo, rose, mango pistachio and pina colada were delicious!! The flavors popped, the texture of the donut was light and had me not feeling too guilty, and they looked nice! It was totally unexpected to find a vegan donut spot so close to my sister, and to be family-run is lovely! They have an interesting history on their website, you should give it a read!

Wow, Oh Mama Grill sure has gotten an upgrade! Beautiful tiles, love the black-and-white, crisp,…read moreclean look, and new booths -- though I didn't try sitting in one yet, didn't think to as I was on a mission to get to all the Israeli restaurants around for and on Israel Independence Day, ha ha! (And yes! I succeeded!) The benches are a light, bright-looking wood. There are also regular tables for those who prefer that .... It's amazing how much spacious seating is packed into this little place! I wish the outside reflected the new, light beauty but I guess the treasure is only to be found by those who venture in .... As an Israeli-in-America, I appreciate the selection of Israeli drinks in the cooler, and of course the national snack of falafel! Some say they don't put fries in the pitas -- well, yeah! That's true! If you don't ask, you don't receive! I ask! I receive! I do sometimes find the sandwiches to be kind of messy, so I try to sometimes get less various salads and pickles and such so it's not completely overflowing -- because this place is GENEROUS! Of course, if you're not used to kosher food, you'll probably not understand that it does cost more because for one thing (out of many!), there has to always be an 'extra' person called a mashgiach (supervisor in Hebrew) who oversees everything to make sure it's all, well, kosher! Kosher meat is more expensive, too. And yeah, meat doesn't come with dairy! So that is not available. I heard someone asking if they had a cheeseburger and had to work to not crack up about it! I LOVE the grilled eggplant bits you can get put in -- they're special, not in the regular line up, right there at the end -- because not only do they add so much flavour and texture with so little bulk, but eggplant is one of those things I usually cannot eat because it hurts my oh-so-sensitive tongue, but this place makes it per-fect-ly, mmm ... ! So delicious! I enjoy both purple and green cabbage and carrots, but I don't like the flavour of the onions. That makes me sad, because I LOVE onions, but these ones have something on them that I don't like (looks like it's sumac -- which is ironic, because that's something that I normally love and use all the time!) and I end up picking out when I sometimes forget or get hopeful and just get them again anyway .... Actually, the onions are one of the few condiments here I do not like! The pickled beets are great -- and of course, great for your liver! They are cleansing, nutritious, and boost your Russian-ness, to boot! Or your Russian Jewishness, anyway .... I know that eating them makes my grandmother proud! The benefits of eating here are not and are also not like ones you can attain in just any regular restaurant, and it's here for people who want this kind of thing. It literally is a cornerstone, being on the corner and providing the things certain of us need -- Israeliness, Jewishness, kosherness, etc. It's too bad it suffers from bad reviews by people who don't understand or care. By the way, the work that goes into making all these salad items fresh every day is, let's just say, a LOT! I almost always get the falafel -- I used to get a platter, but it was too much for a meal so I switched back to the classic pita version and that's a perfect amount for me for a meal, plus I feel it's better for the environment because it comes packaged minimally in a little parchment paper rather than a recyclable aluminum plate with a non-recyclable aluminum-and-paper top. Truth be told, I could have trouble finishing writing this review because thinking of Oh Mama Grills' falafel is making me so hungry! I am really getting in the mood for some right now! Other things I eat from here regularly (and have for years): Israeli salad Moroccan (vegetarian) cigars Rice Other things I know are great by way of seeing the delight on my eating partner's face while consuming: Okay, I so I don't remember, but various meat things! Chicken, I think .... Things I don't love from Oh Mama Grill: Bean soup -- didn't have enough flavour for me .... Sabich. I dunno. Just didn't love it! It's hard to top falafel, in my opinion -- well, this falafel from this place, that is -- so I don't feel the need to explore the menu very much .... There aren't a whole lot of places (if any!) that offer such a variety of salads, pickles, and sauces! As an absolute pickle-lover who finds pickles and not just that but a variety of pickles a MUST for my diet, this place has it going on like no other! Update! Tried sitting on a bench at a booth! It's pretty hard, not super-comfortable, but doable -- however, a harder seat is better for your posture and health long-term! The falafel pita with toppings aplenty is so delicious, I am craving one right now ... and, in case you've ever tried some of the marinated types of vegetables here and found them too sour, I did too! Now, that is fixed. They are no longer so sour, and are therefore much more eminently edible! My eating partner agrees.

Well the day finally came when hubs was picking me up & we had time to kill before our evening plans. I had mentioned this place several times while driving past it & we decided to make a stop. It's basically a take out place with some fast food restaurant style booths. You place your order, you pay, and you wait for ur food to be prepped. Unfortunately this was a let down. His burger was sad, looked like someone had worked out their aggression on it. Seriously, I've never seen any burger & bun that flattened. It was my mistake, I was excited because of the description (it contained lamb) but wasn't anywhere close to the Greek burger we get in VA, I'm not sure it was even up the fast food level, although it was definitely in competition for flatness. My dish was composed a lot of very dry meat. I'm no longer considering a stop as I drive.
