We hired Phillip Pitts of Pleasure Pools in May of 2014 to build a gunite pool at our residence in DeRidder, La. As I type this review a year later, Our pool is still not 100% complete or free of defects. Phillip Pitts /Pleasure Pools never show up when they say they will. Our pool has leaked, been retiled 3 times, plastered twice. Every issue had to be brought to Phillip Pitts attention and over stress how horrible different phases of the job were. First tile install tile fell off the wall and dried wavy. Sheer descents unsquared and out of plumb. Coping that doesn't cover the back wall so we had to hire a granite company to trim out the cement along the back wall. (He said he didn't know they sold coping that wide) You name it I think we have had it go wrong. Due to all the fixing and repairing of different phases of the job we now have used looking products due to all the poor workmanship and the fixing that's had to be done. The second plaster job is so rough our kids get blisters and now have to have swim shoes to avoid bleeding feet and at night when the lights are on you can see big shadows from the horribly un-level surfaces as the lights cast across them. We recently hired an electrician to check the safety of the lights that were not working since Phillip would not ever show to do so, Now some work, some don't work, but still no Phillip Pitts to check it out. Without a doubt this has been the worst experience I have had in my entire life. To add icing on the cake I checked with the La Contractors Board and he doesn't even hold a license in the state of LA. If anyone wants to hire a pool contractor that doesn't over see his workers and seem incapable to perform contracting work, Pleasure Pools/Phillip Pitts is your man. After one year of living through this pool nightmare they still have not made this right. Do your research before hiring a pool contractor. Sometimes the cheaper price isn't the way to go. You definitely get what you pay for. Lesson Learned. read more
