He helped us initially to just understand what we COULD do and what it would cost approximately for budget...with and without various items. It is hard to know how to visualize something without being able to simultaneously have an idea of the project cost. Vernon openly helped with that. Vernon has a program that allowed us to "see" inside the finished building and change things like the window size and the bathroom layout. We knew what things would look like in 3D ahead of time. During construction - Vernon and his team were nothing short of amazing. There was quite frankly a major part of the flooring that did not work. Vernon's foreman was ON TOP OF IT and did not settle until it was right. There was great communication and no extra cost to us - just excellent work. These guys show up on time, don't play loud music or cuss and they CLEAN UP.... Daily. It is actually really amazing in today's world that we had someone who we felt like we could totally trust at all times. Thanks Martin Carpentry for making our vision come to life!

    Thompson Basement Waterproofing

    Thompson Basement Waterproofing

Thompson's performed waterproofing in several sections of my house including the small additional…read morethat I have. They were suppose to completely waterproof the addition by installing necessary pipes, pit and sump pump. After investing in waterproofing the addition and receiving their written warranty, the addition was finished. Water began to leak approx. 10" away from the main system they installed and in the section they were paid to waterproof. When discussing this concern with a representative (Jeff) at Thompsons, we were promised that all issues would be addressed. When Thompsons sent out a service worker, their service worker explained that the issues will be addressed and began the process for the repairs. The second team they sent to complete the process were ill informed and mentioned that their internal note system did not specify the services they needed to complete, so they claimed they would call to reschedule. When calling Thompsons to follow-up after we recieved no follow-up. They had no recollection of any of the services provided and said they could not complete the services they already agreed to do. All in all, their team members came in person for 3 times and missed their appointments 2 times. Final rep (Brandon) said they won't fix this because it's not leaking from the system they installed. The water is coming through only 10" away from their system. It may even be leaking from the system but coming out from the weakest point. All they had to do 1) to add 2 small pipes about 20" each and tie them to the main system b) fix the tiles that they damaged starting the process c) install the baseboards back, that they damaged starting the process d) touch up the paint. Currently they left a mid project in place.

This company is out of business but I will trash their name every chance I get. We were told by their employee that anytime, even 2 am we could call & they'd come & fix it. The waterproofing came with a lifetime guarantee , it was even transferable if we sold the house. 5 yrs later they go out of business without warning & didn't leave a substitute contractor to honor their so called warranty. So they left all their customers hanging. With all the rain we've had lately our basement flooded twice & now it's partially finished. We have no one to come out & fix it now so we're screwed. I called a construction company with ironically the same address & owners name looking for help, he told me I had the wrong business & stop calling. This guy knows more than he lets on. I am beyond disgusted & very mad that businesses can operate this way, I wish we would've NEVER had them do it the shady bastards.
