Owners then receive a swipe card for access to the park. I take "Angus": our Australian Shepherd (a 21/2 year old rescue) here on a daily basis. He's a little hyper and still adjusting, so I use the park so he can get up in the morning and run himself silly chasing the pedestrian and bike traffic that runs parallel to the Dog Park. My wife usually takes him in the near dusk time to allow him to unwind for the evening and he's been socializing with the other dogs. While many owners let the dogs run "free" not everyone should; unless they know their dog's temperament around other animals and people. While this is a good learning experience for him; my wife and I sometimes have to corral him in the smaller dog area when he's wanting to herd other dogs and not be social. It's a great park and while they've an agility course in the large dog side of the park, it's missing a jump bar that was damaged sometime after the opening. The smaller dog area has a few agility items and we usually take Angus there to practice the smaller obsticle course.

Each fenced in area has park benches and covered picnic tables to relax and watch your dogs play as well as water fountains that have a small bowl on the bottom to run water in for your dog. There's also agility training equipment in each area as well as trash receptacles that have plastic bag dispensers to clean up after your pup. This dog park is very clean, never crowded and the best part is it's FREE!!

As they mature, the landscaping will look really nice, especially with planned improvements. In the meantime, JGP has the widest concrete paths I can remember in any park I've visited, like the concrete guys were hurting for business, and offered a double wide, two-for-one deal. I imagine it offers a smooth surface for skaters, though I haven't noticed any here on my rare visits. Most importantly for Onyx H. and her little buddy Ruby H., this place is dog-friendly. There's a fenced dog park on the northeast side, and at least one doggie-bag dispenser. That doggie-bag dispenser can be most important when the stock of plastic bags in your pocket is exceeded by your pet's desired number of pit stops. JGP is a perfect place for a short winter walk with your canine companions.

Very well maintained with plenty of room to spread out. Multiple water spickets throughout the park. The fence is very nice and has chicken wire at the bottom so smaller dogs can't get out. Clean restrooms right next to the park. Beautiful grass, multiple water dishes, dog waste stations (bags), toys, a pavilion to sit under while you dog enjoys itself. I loved the atmosphere and am definitely going to back soon. I have a house dog, so this was a great place to get him equipped to playing with other dogs and being off his leash. I also love that their is no dog park application and fee and that they want owners to take into account of their pups behavior. Love it!

I could not believe that someone who works with dogs would do that! He took one look at our boys + said NO, we were not welcome. Our dogs are mixed breed, + one of those breeds is pit bull. We told him that our boys are super sweet, not aggressive at all, + he told us that we don't understand pit bulls. I understand that there are aggressive pit bulls in the world; however, ANY dog can be aggressive under the right circumstances. Nowhere on the website does it list which breeds are not allowed, so we didn't know. Huge waste of everyone's time + energy. Overall, Wayne was very rude + unprofessional. Definitely would not pay the exorbitant prices of a membership here - IF your dogs are even accepted into the park!

The guy who runs the place (Uncle Wayne) is a card with his own fan club. This place used to be a treecourt swimming pool back in the day. I've been going here since the early 60s.
