I am so blessed to have Belleville's only Dog Park relatively near my home. I have 2 dogs, a 9 lb. Maltese, and a 70 lb. Pitbull mix. They love go there to run around, socialize, and make new friends! The park is about 6 blocks from the Public Square, and is over 2 acres of trees, and soft, green grass. It has a lovely agility course in both the small dog area and the large dog area. To be allowed to come there, the dog owners must sign their dogs up at Belleville's Parks and Recreation office, must show proof that their pets are up-to-date on their shots, and pay a yearly fee. The fee for residents: one dog for only $24, 2 dogs for $36, and 3 dogs for $48, for residents. For non-residents the cost is $48-$60-$72. It is comforting to know that a person must have a swipe card to enter the fenced dog park. You must enter through 2 gates, which is a very smart system, preventing my dogs from darting out the gate when someone enters or exits! It has plenty of drinking water, and free waste bags for the owners to clean up after their pets. It's so lovely and refreshing to relax and meet other pet owners and their furry friends! I love to take my pets there to socialize, and wear them out! They get home and sleep like a log the rest of the day! Thanks, Belleville, for a 5-star Dog Park!! read more
