Huge store! Lots of clothing and toys and housewares. The clothes were kinda hard to look through though because there weren't separators between the sizes, which would have been very helpful. They also use staples to attach the price. Not a fan of staples- it can tear up the fabric and my skin when removing. Didn't find anything this trip, but you never know! Better than most. Always busy. Tons of selections, especially clothes. Take your time and check everything, especially sizes, buttons, tears, etc. They continue to make the clothes down just to keep them moving, but if you see something you like, best to grab it. Like most of the others, lots of junk I'd never want, but to each his/her own. On the other hand, there's always one or two real surprises. Usually good fast checkout, except on really crowded days. read more

I can't believe the prices in this dump. Used candles $5.99, an item with a $5 price tag from Family Dollar was priced $19.99. Old mix matched coffee cups $5.99 each. I don't know why anyone would choose to even stop here. Hobby Lobby would be a lot cheaper for Home Decor. This store wanted $25 to $40 for candleholders from Hobby Lobby. Old plastic tea pitchers $7. This stuff is free to them and yet they choose to charge more than what it cost new. I will never waste time to even look here again read more

I LOVE the Plaza Thrift in McKinney! Not only do they have low prices between 79 center to $2.49 on clothes but they also have kitchen ware for 79 cents to $1.49. You really need to understand the art of thrifting and good finds in order to pin point the items worth buying! I especially love their half price days and I'm normally one of the first in line. I won't give 1 star, because I will sometimes find things that are reasonable so I can somewhat justify the inflated price they're asking for. I feel like the selection of items is good but the pricing is so ridiculous, it makes you laugh and wanna walk out. Y'all need to chill! You got it for free. Don't get greedy. Oh, and the staff is not the friendliest. There is one girl that works as a cashier that's always nice when I go. This place is a total fraud. I grabbed a piEve of wall art off the wall, which wasn't priced. i wanted to buy it so I asked the lady at the front. she said to give her a minute, she had to ask the guy in the back the price. Took it with her, didn't come back with it. told me she couldn't sell it. try and come back tomorrow. Why couldn't they price and sell. Half their crap had no prices. something fishy here. Here's the thing about thrift stores- you're looking at other people's used crap, so you need to go in with a reasonable expectation about service and selection. That said, I find something almost every time I go here. There is someone in the area just my size who must be doing a closet kon-mari! I have found several designer dresses for around $30 that would retail at $112. Is that a lot for a thrift store dress? Kind of. Is it a good deal for a well made piece of clothing that was bought last season and worn maybe twice? Definitely. I've found real leather jackets, Hawaiian dad shirts, linen granny pants, and even an alpaca wool blanket that was priced at $15. During the holidays, they put out Old Navy pajama pants en masse and you can get each pair for less that $5, great when you need to get present for a ton of people. It does take a long time to check out if you go there during peak hours, but what do you honestly expect when you go at 1:00pm on a Saturday? Of course it will be busy. This is also when people will let their children run rampant. Be more selective about your visits if your schedule allows. Think about which days people drop things off and when new items will likely be put out on the floor. I've seen some complaints about unfriendly staff, but that doesn't bother me personally. I don't like being "helped" the whole time I'm in a store. Every time I've asked for help, they have been very polite. There are, however, three major downsides to this place. First, there are no fitting rooms, so if you want to try something on, wear tight fitting clothing so you can slip it on over what you're wearing. Second, the no tag no sale policy. It's awful, I find items I want to purchase all of the time with no tag, and they refuse to sell an item if there is no price on it. They do this because there was a problem with people removing tags and trying to get a cheaper deal, but this could be solved by doing tiered pricing for specific objects, rather that what seems to be a randomized pricing model. Lastly, many things are overpriced, sometimes only a dollar or two under what you would have paid new. Again, I think this could be solved by doing an honest review of the pricing model. Go with patience and you will have a pretty good experience. read more

They had some good quality items. Unfortunately, their prices are much higher than what I'd expect from a thrift store. I feel like this is something people should know before they come here. I was looking for a real leather jacket, and I found a few, but the least expensive one was $40. I truly loved a more vintage looking one, and although it had some pulls in the threads and a couple scuffs, it was priced at $70. Like I said, I loved it, so I bought it, but I never thought I'd find a piece of clothing at a thrift store for $70. Just last year I found an authentic Banana Republic leather jacket at Goodwill for $15. To me, that's what thrift stores are about- finding those hidden treasures and being really excited about it. In conclusion, if you're looking for quality items, this could be a great thrift store for you. Just don't be shocked if the price tag is a little outrageous. read more

Only been here twice and probably won't ever go again. Overpriced and unhelpful staff, and long lines too. Found some books to purchase for my 9 year old and they are all bagged and (hardly) stapled shut. Literally one staple! They refused to sell them to me at the register on account of them "being open." When they are ALL like this. All I wanted was to speak to a manager to get the fair price, but was told no. Then I offered to pay the price of two bags of books and was also told no. I mean this was for my kid who was standing right next to me, real class act! I wasn't even a Karen about it, I just wanted to pay a fair price for some kids books that my kid had had his heart set on. Tell me no all day long but a freaking kid, really?! Seems like clothing is the best thing to ahoy for here. Service is not very friendly, but it IS a thrift store. On that note... Why are they selling old used stuff for more than things cost new? Ok, You guys really want the low down? It's not bad, when I first started going I loved it as they had a great selection and really affordable prices. Now not so much. The price tagger in the bag needs to go take a look at the mall prices and see where it's getting ridiculous. $199 for an old beat up guitar, when you can buy one at guitar center new for half that price! $15 for a used VS bra, when they were just selling them new for $10 during their sale last week $30 for a shirt new with tags when it retailed at $35? Maybe $10 would be more reasonable There are no dressing rooms/returns, so make sure you get what you really want and ensure that it fits. Waste of space store. Went one week and bought a item with no tag in it. Following week went and was going to purchase items that yet again were not priced. Was told oh I can't sell it to you with no price on it. I said that's funny as I just bought something last week with no price on it. Who sold it to go. The other lady at the counter actually. The same lady who sold a item the week before then gets a attitude about it and claimed oh no we can't sell it with no price. They also refused to put the item aside for me to come get when the "ladies in the back" would be there to price them as well. Half the items in your store are not priced! Don't put it out on the floor if that is the case! Will no longer be shopping here. Employees are extremely nasty and rude as well every time I have ever been in the store. Ummm I live in this store. I go there all the time. It laid out well, has great prices, and it constantly rotating it's inventory.

I've been here several times and every single time the young women who work here have been so hateful. They are defensive when asked a question, will try to blame you for missing price tags, and have never once greeted me with anything other than "next". When given the receipt to sign, it's always been slammed on the counter and no more words used than "sign". Doesn't matter if you approach them with a smile and try being nice. Its hit or miss- sometimes it's cleaned and organized and sometimes it's messy and looks like they haven't swept or mopped in months. The prices are good for the most part, but they use multiple staples to add the tags. They're selling used books for the price of new. After todays visit and my experience with the mija with the nose ring, I won't be back. read more

It's a good thrift store in general, but there are several things they could improve on. In fact I have a list. 1...the staples they use for price tags on things have cut me more than once. If staples must be used, only use one per tag. There isn't really a need to ruin a garment by using 3 or 4 per tag. 2...address the issue of people who allow their small children to run wild throughout the store. I was there today and I was almost hit twice by boys riding the bicycles that are for sale INSIDE THE STORE!! It is management's responsibility to maintain a safe environment for shoppers. If their parents don't make them behave it is your duty to let it be known that is unacceptable behavior. 3...it takes forever to check out. 4...it would be nice if the hours were extended until nine rather than 7. read more

It's better than most thrift stores out here in north Texas, but still I hardly ever find anything here.

This cavernous thrift store is as good as it gets in the north DFW area In my last three visits, I've found Christian Dior sweaters, St. John knits, vintage furs, J Crew skirts, cashmere sweaters, vintage evening dresses, and Neiman Marcus blazers and suits. Clothes are clean and well-organized, and there's no dank thrift store smell. The front of the store features racks of new-with-tags items, and they're priced higher than what you'd normally expect thrift store clothes to be. But we're talking brand new designer clothes, and they're still 80% retail prices. Clothes are restocked throughout the day, so you'll always find something new with every visit. Some caveats: There are no dressing rooms, and it can get pretty cold (doesn't seem like they believe in paying for heat.) In addition, the back of the store is kind of dark, which makes browsing a little challenging. But the prices are amazing. read more

When she finally came, I went over to her, I had a toy telephone for my grandson that didn't have a price on it. I like Plaza Thrift. I agree with a few of the other reviewers who say this place smells more clean than most cavernous thrift stores. It's also just that, cavernous. Huge. And I don't know why Katrina is complaining about parking, it's in a strip mall and there's lots of parking. I always find things here, including in the kids and maternity section. If you want the designer labels that a few mentioned, you're limited to the far left circular racks near the front. You won't like the average thrift store fare in the rest of the store. If you like searching for that perfect find, though, browse away! My big pet peeve is that there are no dressing rooms. Regardless, outside of the designer markdown section, the prices are so cheap that I could afford to drop a few dollars as a risk on a gorgeous dress. Best thrift store in the area for vintage clothing. If you love vintage, or expensive clothing (clothing from Neiman Marcus, Nordstroms, ect), 80% off with tags still attached, then this is the right place for you. They also sell everyday clothing marked as low as a $1 with the tags still on it. If you're a lady looking for couture marked ridiculously low, then the first thing upon entering would to navigate to the left of the front of the store. There are several circle racks with brand name clothing (Neiman Marcus, H&M, Dior, St. Johns, Jones New York Banana Republic, ect) marked as low as $1 and up to $89. What, $89 at a thrift store! Well, the price tags are still on the items and it originally sold for $400+. so you're still getting a deal! They have beautiful dresses along the wall. Make sure to look at the sizes. I found a gorgeous, light tan, H&M dress for $3.99 in the medium section. I didn't really bother looking at the tag (mistake), and since they don't have a dressing room, I bought it. When I got home I found out it was an x-small. You can't return anything, so I'll end up giving this dress away, or selling it on Listia. Besides no fitting rooms, or restrooms, the parking lot is terrible. Someone from the city really needs to come out and redo it. I've been boxed in by crazy teenagers, slow people taking their time navigating out of the lot, and people who park way too close. My best bet is to park in the back. Yes, you will be walking, but it beats taking forever to get out of the lot. edit-To the reviewer who questioned why I am complaining about parking, yes there are plenty of spaces (I never said that there wasn't), but the people are terrible at driving. If you shop during the day, then the parking is easy. If you come in the evening, there are a lot of crazy people driving around. I guess everyone is different. When visiting, make sure that you have time to go through ALL of the desired racks because there are some treasures to be found. I also agree with the others about this place. Staff is very rude and not welcoming. I found it rather disgusting with a slight odor. The floors looks like they have not been mopped in years with all sorts of dust and grime. It actually triggered my allergies for the first few moments I was in there. It looks like they try to have a small boutique section up front which I am not sure why as its just generic mall brands. The higher end items like purses they like to put in the glass case but get an attitude when you ask to see something as they actually have to work to do it. No worries the items in glass case are overpriced too. The whole store is overpriced. I went once and won't return. I would never give them the pleasure of having my items on a donation basis. Just don't bother with this place. Travel a short distance to Gracebridge Resale in Frisco where you have friendly employees in a clean store with high end items and furniture and great pricing! ive been coming here for years now, but I don't think I'll be going back for a while. the woman at the counter was extremely rude to us because we found an item without a tag. she rudely snapped at us that she won't sell it to us without a tag as if it was our fault it didn't have one. if you're not selling something, then don't have it on the sales floor. i politely asked if they could price it out, and she just continued to belittle me over an item that was worth no more than $3. she told me to "speak to her manager tomorrow morning if i'm gonna throw a fit" (i never once raised my voice and was very polite about it). the rest of their prices are absolutely ridiculous, and i get sick every time i go from the amount of filth in this store. read more

I've only been to this thrift store twice and both times the people who worked there were so rude. This afternoon, I went to the back of the store and gathered up several lamps that did not have lampshades and the shades that were sitting around them to go with the lamps. I assumed they were all tagged separately if they were sitting there on separate shelves. I pick them up just as they were sitting on the shelves and after waiting in line with a full basket and items and one in each hand The woman at the checkout counter told me that I had to hand her each item and when she did not see a price tag on the lampshades she told me she could not sell them to me without a price tag. She seemed to insinuate that I had taken them off or something. I told her I didn't want the lamps without the shades so I wasn't going to take anything in my cart. She didn't want to help me get a price or get the items around the clear plastic barrier. I would have spent well over $50 and for thrift items that is a lot. (I'm decorating an air bnb with thrift items). Then she had the gall to yell at me as I was walking to the door )feeling embarrassed and hurt ) and she asked me to come back and get my cart and get it out of the way. I told her that if she wanted it moved she could do it herself. Then I left and spent my money down the block. read more

Love the prices and quality of the clothes - I have yet to find a badly kept piece of clothing on the racks. One of my favorite thrift stores. My only dislike with this store is that there are no dressing rooms. But as long as you are aware of what size you wear this isn't that much of a problem. read more
