This is another one of my Tijuana go to spots. There are several food and dessert shops to choose from. Their restaurants range from fast food to nicer sit-down restaurants. The different shops and restaurants have a variety of price ranges, so there is something for everyone to choose from. There are also two movie theaters which are quite popular. I come here whenever I want to catch a movie or shop at Sears since they closed down the ones I used to shop at in the U.S. They also have live music playing sometimes or clown shows with gifts for children. I have experienced great customer service across all establishments I've been to in this shopping center. People of all ages can enjoy their time here. read more

As far as malls go this is a great one, just like an old school 70's or 80's mall with both a regular movie theater and a VIP movie theater. They have department stores and a Sears is one of the anchor stores. Sears in Mexico is a luxury store much like the old school Macy's, Bloomingdale's, or Saks. They literally have everything you want and need here including banking, cell phone companies, restaurants, two food courts, one more typically US mall food court and another food court that is more suited to a foodie's palate. They have a stage area and you may see any number of things performed here. Very popular place and especially packed on the weekends. read more

Cool mall in TJ! Plentiful parking with a variety of clothing shops, food/drink establishments, and two movie theaters! Lots of foot traffic but plentiful, reasonably priced parking. Great for a stroll and/or some retail therapy. read more

I've had nothing but good times each and every single time I've been here, I've been patronizing this place even more since the Covid pandemic. This place has a little bit of everything, I've thoroughly enjoyed the theater Cinépolis here which is currently open and safe to visit even during Covid , I've enjoyed the meals at Sorbo Crepas which pictures I've included here , that place is so good and has great prices . Plenty of shopping here, they have an Apple store , a grocery store , several restaurants with varying options , absolutely modern place, very safe , I can't say enough about it to be honest . read more

Great shops, safe parking and easy parking validation. It was a good spot for us to park the car and venture farther into the city.

Only went to the salon and barbershop here but beware when it is raining. My boyfriend slipped and tore tissue in his knee because they have tile outdoors. I hope he will not need surgery. Having tile outdoors is not the brightest idea. read more

Everyone is scared to walk around and spend some money cause they think they are going to get robbed or something. Hahahah lol they better beware of me. Plaza Río - Shopping Centers Near Me - Tijuana, BCN

If you're in Tijuana, and want to do some shopping, then this is the place to go. This place reminds me of the malls in Los Angeles, although the brands may be a bit different. Parking can be a pain in the neck, depending on when you come here. When we came here, it was packed. We had to park inside one of the structures, but that was after circling around a bit for a spot. The mall is outdoors, with many stores and eateries lining the periphery of the mall. Within the walkways, there are also a plethora of options along the way. Some stores, such as Sears, can be found here. Others I haven't see in Los Angeles of San Diego. If you get tired of shopping, they have a movie theatre here. There is the regular one, which was very packed that day. There is another that is similar to the iPic theaters in Westwood. If I were you, I would opt for the latter. This place is pretty nice and safe, located in Zona Rio. There are plenty of people from the US that come here, as well as locals. I've never had a problem here, in the few times that I've come here. read more

Every time I come to TJ this is a must go. I get all the stuff I need here. Usually when my dad has a dentist appointment I come here to kill time and I'm always entertained. They have a cute hello kitty store here with lots of overpriced HK things and collectibles, some are decently priced. I also always go to DAX they have the best deals on makeup and shampoo. And of course they have a Soriana, I always grocery shop here and they have the best deals! Parking is like 50 cents for like 2 hours. It's safe and clean. read more

We come here at least once a month to watch VIP movies, get our mani and pedi done, grocery shop and so much more. You can not compare the prices to San Diego. It's safe here but parking can get crazy! It's hard to find a parking space at Time but it's still with the trip. read more

This mall is great for doing any kind of shopping. There's a variety of stores and restaurants to enjoy. I'd skip this place for souvenir, it's a lot pricier than going to Avenue Revolución, but its nice because its clean and you can find anything. read more

Great outdoor mall. There was plenty of places to ear. However, not alot of different stores. There was a great ross-like store there as well as a supermarket. They even sell motorcycles in there as well! read more

Tijuana as a city is amazing and the plaza is vibrant and full of energy from the surrounding businesses. The shopping and food choices are abundant and the proximity to other parts of the city make it an ideal area to use as a starting point to explore from. read more

Love coming here, the shops are very inexpensive and it's just fun to walk around, there are plenty of things to do wether you want to shop, drink, grab a bite to eat, or just find a bench to sit and chat with a friend: very nice and well kept read more

As far as bang for your buck relative to San Diego malls Plaza Rio takes the win...Besides the 2 theatres and the endless food at very cheap prices everything else is about the same price with less options as far as clothes, accessories etc. when compared to Plaza Bonita in San Diego...The food courts and the VIP theatre in Plaza Rio is a must when in Tijuana read more

Decent mall with a wide variety of stores and restaurants. Not my personal favorite. The only thing that brings me here is the movie theater. I like the choice between two cinemas at the same place. If for some reason one has sold out, I have a choice of checking out the other one. This shopping center also has a casino and a Mini City for kids. There are also public utilities on site, where people can make their water and electricity payments. During the weekends, this place gets really crowed and loud. Parking might be difficult but not impossible. read more

Start off, I felt much more safer here than near the touristy area of Tijuana Arch. We came here around 11am to visit Mini City then had Teppanyaki at Furasshu. I wish kids weren't having as much fun in Mini City since toward end of the dinner, they were exhausted that we didn't get to explore the entire Plaza. There were some performance happening in outdoor stage area with Aztec dancers and traditional Mexican dancers. There were a lot of families out for the evening to get food, watch movie, and shop. Due to crowd, my carrier bag got bumped many times but nothing went missing (it didn't have anything of value anyways). Just bunch of people trying to enjoy their evening. And security guard are pretty good at kicking out riffraff. I didn't see any pan handlers. Toward evening time, parking lot was full and there were a lot of cars shadowing you for a spot. so maybe definitely go earlier or be patient. And I saw plenty of CA license plate that I felt safe that my car won't be targeted for being a foreign car. We were there all day and costed 100 peso (about 5 bucks) and my car as safe as it can be (then ironically, when I came back to the state there was a fist fight inside a parking attendant booth. When two of the perpetrator ran off, I got the hell out of there in case they come back with a gun). Arriving at 11am on Saturday there were tons of parking spaces. You do need peso to pay for your parking since validation machine did not have credit card slot. Mini City didn't validate and it seems like other stores didn't validate either. I can't wait to come back and go check out the grocery store here next time I'm visiting CECUT which is right across the street. read more
