My old doctor told me exactly what was wrong with my Pupil. I decided to test her knowledge and ask her the same thing - she said she didn't know and that it might be hereditary. No, it's not hereditary at all. I can't believe that's the only answer she gave me. Here's the topper.. On Monday, I booked the appointment for Friday afternoon. It was quarter mile down the road from my job. I get off work at 5, so I figured 530 would be perfect, which is when we booked the appointment for. Thursday, I get a phone call asking if I could move my appointment to 6:00. Annoyed - I took it anyway because I really wanted this appointment. For that hour wait, I decided I could go grocery shopping across the street in the mean time. Friday afternoon at 2:00, they called me and asked me if I could come in at 6:30 instead. Now, I'm mad. They told me that the doctor wouldn't be in the office until then. I decided to keep it anyway. So now, I'm waiting in my parking lot for an hour and half. Until I finally drive over there, and wait another 20 minutes because the doctor was running late. I didn't think she was friendly. She threw her purse and other items she ran in with into the room scattered all over the chair. So unprofessional. She then told me why she was late and that she had to get pictures with her son for Prom, so she had to drive to Nassau all the way back to Suffolk County. Are you serious? So she knew about his Prom a very long time ago, but decides to not take the night off and instead piss people off? That's what I call a good office. NOT. Never again will I come back here.

I had an issue with my eye and Dr. Wianecka wasn't in the office so I saw her colleague Dr. Blum. The problem I had was on my upper eyelid not inside my eye, this is key to my story. She diagnoses me with something prescribed me some an ointment to put on my upper eyelid for a few times a day. Dr. Blum offered no suggestion as to what caused this or how it happened. I tried the ointment and my eye immediately got extremely itchy and was getting worse not better so I called the office back and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Wianecka 2 days later. This is where it gets even more unprofessional and pathetic. Dr Wianecka sees me, I explain the situation and she says no I don't think it's what the other doctor said...two doctors same group not on the same page...pretty odd. Then she proceeds to try and blame me for the issue that occurred, and said must be an allergic reaction to something. Meanwhile, Ive eaten nothing new, no new soaps, fragrances, shampoos, laundry detergent, NOTHING, so it 1000% is not from that, very lame to blame it on the patient just because you don't know why the problem is occurring. Then she says oh the ointment that Dr. Blum prescribed has a high % of people who reported bad reactions to it...WHY WAS I PRESCRIBED THIS!? She then insists to put these eye drops in my eye meanwhile yet AGAIN I told her the issue is outside of my eye it's on my eyelid and then wanted to prescribe me an eye steroid drop. No good reason as to why either was prescribed. She made it sound like the drops she showed me in office would be cheap only to find out when I walked out I'm hit a ANOTHER $50 copayment, plus $30 for these drops. Why am I being charged another copay when I was MISDIAGNOSED and not properly treated which caused me to go back to your office TWO days later. This is disgusting behavior and I'll never go here again. I ended up going to another eye doctor and got my problem fixed immediately. The fact that I was charged another copayment when it wasn't my fault along with all of the other issues is insane. Go find another doctor that actually cares.

I have been a customer of Davis Visionworks for years. On November 15, 2024, I attended my annual…read moreappointment at 703 Montauk Highway (Davis Visionworks Great South Bay). My appointment was initially scheduled for noon. I entered the store at 12:10 pm and was advised by Julie that I had to reschedule because I was late. I then stated I thought there was a fifteen-minute grace period. Julie then said they only allowed five minutes. I then asked to speak to the manager to see if I could still be seen. The manager, Joe Fulco, explained the store policy regarding appointment times to me.  During this time, I could tell he felt irritated that I had requested to speak to him due to his demeanor. I then stated information regarding the grace period should be made clear on the website so customers are aware. Mr. Fulco  stated, "The website doesn't need to say to be on time for you to be on time."  At this point, I told Mr. Fulco that I no longer wanted to reschedule and to file a complaint through corporate. As Mr. Fulco wrote down corporate information, I reiterate that his unprofessional comments towards me were unappreciated. Mr. Fulco then ripped the paper with the corporate information and told me to get it myself. I then said you know everything is on camera; that wasn't smart to do. At this point, I felt utterly disrespected and devalued as a paying customer. I proceeded to write down the store employees' names and exited the location.  This behavior committed by Joe Fulco is entirely unacceptable. Mr. Fulco should not hold a supervisory position at Visionworks. He should understand that he is held to a higher standard as a representative of your organization. The customer is always right, no matter what. The disrespectful behavior and unprofessional comments were not necessary. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!

I was home with the flu and asked my son (22yrs old) to take his sister (16yrs) for an eye appointment. Not only did my daughter feel Doctor Manin was rude to her and in her words "mean" but felt it was because she was Hispanic. The supervisor Joe fulco gave me some BS about not having her prescription over the phone and in my opinion was steering a specific product. When confronted with a valid doctors prescription he back stepped his words. I have had issues at this location and it's the reason I stopped going there in particular. It was just a error on my wife making it at that specific location. I did file a complaint immediately.

I went back 3 times (no re-examination, just change the prescription) with this pair and just gave up. I ended going to the competition and got a real education. I was given a very thorough eye exam by an experienced doctor and I was fitted with the correct type of glasses. The eye doctor at Americas Best said I was developing cataracts as it turned out I have one eye with scar tissue and the other eye was fine for a person my age. I don't think I will ever go back there again. The glasses and the exam are definitely second rate.
