I stopped in during the week and was really impressed, not just with the food but the friendly, personable service that made the whole experience even better. I ordered the Texas Burrito, and let me tell you, it does not disappoint. It's stuffed with steak, chicken, and shrimp, all smothered in creamy white queso. It's rich, hearty, and totally satisfying. Honestly, all it needs is a side of rice and you've got the perfect lunch. The portion was generous without being over the top, and the flavors were spot on. Our server was awesome, and was especially great with kids. You can tell they make an effort to create a welcoming atmosphere, as we were created by other staff members as well. If I'm looking for an inexpensive and quick dinner I go to Plaza Azteca. When we got there around 7:30 pm I thought it would be crowded, but we were able to be seated right away. Our server Yordie was friendly and full of jokes. He was very interactive with us and I appreciate that. Not to mention he was handsome. My girls were hanging onto his every word and beautiful teeth... Lol... He looked like Mario Lopez and we were here for it!!! Lol. We were given chips and salsa right away, and placed our orders. My kids got Chipotle burritos and I got chicken and shrimp fried rice with queso. Our total was about $60 before tip and was pretty reasonable. They enjoyed the burritos. The chicken could have used a little seasoning but the sauces they were given helped cover up the lack of flavor. That chipotle sauce is really good. I added it to my rice and it made it pop. The rice was pretty good, and hot. They certainly didn't skimp on the chicken. I had leftovers so I like the portions. When we left the hostess said good night to us. The staff was nice and we were in and out in no time. I generally stick to the same thing on the menu, but I may try something different next time. I love Plaza. Me and my cousins make sure we come to this location twice a year when all of the family is in town for holidays and vacations. The music is usually great and I love the decorations, especially the Christmas decorations. Usually the service is good. This past week, our server was great. With a group of 8, he was on top it the entire time. There were a few things I was disappointed in this time, even though we still really enjoyed our visit and will come back. I love that the guac is made at the table. This time our guac was a bit heavy on the lime. The chips and salsa was good, per usual. Our margaritas weren't as strong they normally are, even the TX margaritas,which are supposed to be stronger than the house margaritas and typically are. This time the margaritas were a little weak and my boyfriend even had to request an extra shot for his YX margarita. The bartender was great and worked with us to make sure that we eventually liked our drinks more than when we first received them. This time I got the pastor tacos, which are great! There's plenty of meat and pineapple, and the meat is well seasoned. I also love the black beans and rice that comes with the tacos. This is some of the most flavorful rice and beans that I've had from around the country. I will for sure be back next summer! I always recommend plaza. read more

We went to Plaza Azteca to celebrate my friend's birthday, and when we asked our waiter (Marcos) for a drink recommendation, he told us we should "find Jesus" and said he doesn't recommend alcohol because he and his daughter are alcoholics. This was extremely inappropriate and unprofessional -- we came to enjoy a birthday meal, not to be lectured about religion or personal struggles. When I called afterward to speak with the manager, he didn't apologize. Instead, he brushed it off by saying, "I can't control what the waiters say to their tables." That dismissive response made the situation even worse. Because of this experience, Plaza Azteca has lost me and my friends as customers. But during dinner a German roach crawled over our table needless to say we were mortified! We called the Manager over and who ever is your pest control company isn't doing there job , for one the roach to come out during the day , during activity where their is movement. After church, we came here with some of our friends and family to grab lunch. The parking lot was pretty full but inside it was very spaced out and not as busy as it looked. We were able to get a large table and this was convenient since there was 7 of us and most of our party were deaf so round tables are preferred. Our waitress, I believe her name was Patty, came and got our drink orders then came back to get our food orders. I want to mention, she seemed very annoyed while trying to translate the other guests in our parties order. Whenever asking for something, she was short and although we were translating for the guests, she continued to talk to them directly although they were deaf. This is a common occurrence but the longer it would take for us to get orders for everyone or ask for certain items, she just seemed like she did not want to help. I can understand how it may take a little longer or patience with situations like this but if you cannot take the time to help your guests with disabilities then you should pass the group to another server. The food was okay overall, the fish tacos lacked flavor sadly. Portions are large. We really loved the chips and salsa provided. Sadly, I don't think we would return. read more

Came with some friends on a Saturday afternoon. There was plenty of seating available. This was my first time at this location. I've went to the Holland Rd location. The decor was beautiful and it was very spacious. The first thing I noticed was the menus have changed. Prices have increased dramatically. Thats inflation for you I guess. My bad... I crossed my Mexican Restaurant reviews... oops! So yeah this place, I love it too! I have dined here twice within the past two months and both times have been superb! My most recent visit, I dined for lunch minutes after the doors opened for service. The staff was all in place with smiling faces. We sat at a booth that easily sat four or maybe even more. As we looked over a menu, we witnessed tables being pushed together for what seemed like a lunch party of at least 15. The staff was moving fast and working together to get it done. I liked that! Time to order... I am pretty simple when it comes to Mexican; meat, cheese, lettuce, salsa, onions, green peppers... I'm pretty much set. On this visit, I ordered the lunch portion of chicken fajitas! Super yummy! And I promise the food maybe took 10 minutes to arrive. Piping hot and smelling oh so divine! No complaints at all. I love how they give you the chips and salsa prior to you even ordering. I love love love tortilla chips! All was a pleasure... from being greeted once we step foot inside, the attentive waitress, the clean atmosphere, food quality etc. I will return in a heartbeat. Parking wasn't an issue at all. Probably my favorite thing about Plaza Azteca is the decor. The chairs have the name of restaurant carved into the tops and each one looks different. And to me that shows a little extra attention to detail and wanting to create a unique atmosphere. I arrived with 8 friends for lunch and the servers did a good job taking care of us. They kept a very business-like attitude, and were very attentive to drink refills and remaining as organized as possible. The chips and salsa came with the usual red and white sauces that are very commonplace in this part of the country. When I lived in Chicago or New York and went to a Mexican joint, you'd never see at white sauce. For my meal, I ordered chicken breast, topped with mushroom, onions, queso, and ranchero sauce. It was a good filling meal, the chicken was juicy and the sauces were pretty flavorful, not at all spicy. The rice and beans were very run of the mill, the same you'll have at any decent Mexican restaurant. With a soft drink, my bill came to about $17 before change. It's not the best, it's not the worst, it's just fine. They do a fine job, but nothing I would crave again. read more

They offer soy "meat" and dairy free cheese! I ordered the Burrito Vegano and was a little disappointed that 70% of the burrito consisted of rice and about 30% consisted of beans and a veggie mix.
