Can't be pulling a 7 month pregnant lady around! We did the 2 week on-leash program...drop off in the morning pick up in the afternoon. They give you a decent window of time in the AM and PM to drop off and pick up your pup so it's convenient for everyone. He was a little nervous on his first day but quickly warmed up to his trainer, Dakota. At the end of each week, you go in and are given a lesson going over what your dog has learned. Sit, lay, heel and place are just a few of the commands he learned. Our walks are MUCH calmer and we work on what he learned often. The staff is awesome, the place is clean and all in all I think it was worth the time and $ spent. They also have other programs depending what you're looking for.

Sadly, our dog Remy(white shepherd mix pictured with Rich and my wife) died last year from a sudden heart attack. Rich was so understanding and helpful in helping us find a Service Dog candidate that would meet my needs Better; we rescued a Newfoundland mix. I'm posting pictures from video as she's being trained to assist going up & down stairs. It's my opinion that even if you just try basic obedience, a trained owner and dog adds to the wonderful experience of canine ownership! We feel blessed having found Double H and Rich Hardin.

Louisville Dog Wizard - Tizzy, the Graduate

It was after several years of dog-sitting a Dog Wizard graduate (Cooper) for weeks at a time that…read morewe knew when we brought home our (Tizzy), mannerless, hyper, barking, stubborn, six pounds of fur and bark, we needed the Dog Wizard's help. Destiny Spence, was assigned to us by The Dog Wizard (louisville@thedogwizard.com). Their system worked well and met our needs. First, we were able to easily schedule all of our appointments in advance. Because Tizzy was six months old and we had a time crunch for completing her training, we opted for the private "in-home and public spaces plan. After meeting Tizzy, AND US, Destiny agreed that was what Tizzy needed. Destiny took charge and quickly showed us how to get Tizzy's attention, reward, and NOT reward her behavior. She did the same with us, too, because only one of us is almost a disciplinarian. After each class, Destiny sent us a reminder of what was covered and expected in the next class. Tizzy successfully graduated by passing all her classes. She knows how to walk correctly on a leash, place on the spot where I want her, come to me ALL OF THE TIME, even when she's outside, and that NO means stop whatever she's doing. Our house is much quieter now because she knows NO means stop barking and being hyper. An added compliment to Destiny is that she was prompt, consistently communicated with all of us, and was honest in pointing out when we were the problem, not Tizzy. Yes, we highly recommend The Dog Wizard and Destiny Spence for both dogs and their family members. ADDITIONAL COMMENT: THE ONE NEGATIVE COMMENT ON YELP IS ABOUT THE FRANKFORT LOCATION. He was a completely capable cat going into this. When getting my cat back from the back room, we pointed out that he could not walk normally how he could before. We pointed this out to the vet and the vet cited arthritis as the cause of him not being able to walk. My wife and I were more concerned because he had never acted like this before. Dr. Brown then hesitantly recommended going to get an x-ray to see what maybe the cause while simultaneously inferring that arthritis could be the cause of his inability to walk. We went down the road to get an x-ray and it turns out that they had snapped his femur from his hip joint while under their care. When we asked about this, they were very hesitant and said they had to contact their insurance agents before answering any further questions. Dr. Brown then later came to us, confirming that his femur had been snapped and ushering us to get him euthanized, even though we had originally came in for simple bloodwork. Now my cat is lying next to me with his femur snapped as we wait to get a second opinion on what we can do while they try to cover their tracks on what they've done wrong. I highly do not recommend this for they have inexperienced that tax who will manhandle your animals behind the scenes without cameras and then become very KG when they are returned with exterior injuries. I say this as a cat dad of many years, who loves and cares for his animals and who would give nothing else for a cowboy, my cat, to be OK just like he was before visiting this vet for simple bloodwork. This vet needs to be investigated for malpractice in the very least.
