I was visiting Toronto and needed a computer gaming system to do my weeklies for Final Fantasy 14, and they for sure did not have an up to date patch. Understandable, as no one on the team plays the game, but I had to download and re-install their game for them from top to bottom. Literally sitting there for 2 hours for patching and installing. I maybe should have just gone down the street to do some shopping but as usual, the gamer in me wanted to sit there and just browse the internet. While I was there, I ordered their food sets, because I was bored and hungry at the same time. I ordered a chicken nugget set, and it comes with a side of fries. Granted it wasn't that expensive, but it was cute to see that a PC gaming facility would have food with their expensive set ups. I was just scared to like have greasy fingers all over the keyboards. Anyways, once all the patches were done and I was fully running, their systems are actually very very strong. It only took 2 hours to do my weeklies with my friends, and the machine was extremely fast and efficient. Loved that they had such comfy set ups as well. Wished I didn't have to be there for 2 hours patching the system, but I did enjoy my time while I was there. If I was visiting Toronto again for a week or vacation, would come back here to do my gaming needs!

For good reason too, once you get upstairs it is a very nice internet cafe! Spacious, clean, and lots of decent spec computers to play your favorite games with friends. PCs already have most popular games and launchers installed so all you have to do is login. There are 2 person booths if you want to come with a date, and private rooms (5 computers) if you want your team to be more secluded. They also have rooms for mahjong and tabletop games. I'll have to come back later as they plan to expand their board game offering too. I even tried the food here which was very reasonable priced IMO. Popcorn Chicken with fries, my choice of snack, and a can of pop. There was only one person staffing during our visit so food could take a while if they had to do other tasks, but they said they'll be hiring more ppl in the future now that Toronto is open. We ran into some technical difficulties with one of the PCs and a few of the headsets aren't adjustable. Keep that in mind when selecting a PC. Otherwise the staff are happy to help troubleshoot and you can always just switch computers. Overall, seems like a nice hangout spot for students, and place to book for gaming parties, tournaments and other events.

We ordered the Pistachio Latte ($10.99) and the Ma'joon Shake & Smoothie ($15.99). My first reaction was honestly sticker shock, as I found the prices quite steep for beverages. That said, when our drinks arrived, they were absolutely beautiful. The Pistachio Latte featured lovely latte art, and I appreciated that it was served in a clear cup, allowing the layers of pistachio paste to be visible along the sides. Flavor-wise, it was excellent, being perfectly sweet with a nice balance between the coffee and pistachio. The Ma'joon Smoothie, made with banana, dates, ice cream, honey, cinnamon, and milk, was topped with fresh dates, banana slices, and coconut strips. It was another visually stunning drink. While it became a little too sweet for my liking by the end, I still thought it was very well executed overall. While waiting, I noticed they use gourmet syrups and Madd Oliver coffee beans. Their dessert display was also impressive, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover a beautiful back room with additional seating. The washrooms are individual male and female rooms that were clean, spacious, and well maintained. Overall, the cafe was clean, the staff were friendly, and the drinks were both visually appealing and thoughtfully prepared. While the pricing may make this more of an occasional treat for me, I can certainly see why Hayaat Cafe has been generating attention.

Service was friendly and our food was made at a reasonable time. Our food and drinks was decent as we enjoyed playing board games together. However, I do wish there was more of a caramelized top for the creme brulee. The souffle pancakes also take 20min to prepare which took longer than their other dishes, but as long as you're sharing plates and can eat something else until it comes then it's all good! The drinks and food came out pretty quickly except the soufflé pancakes which takes 25minutes to prepare. My favourite was the croffle. For $10, you get 2 big pieces of croffle which tastes great with either whipped cream or syrup. The chicken karaage was kind of dry on its own, but dipping it in the syrup and eating it with the croffle made it better. If you want a hearty breakfast, the classic breakfast is a solid choice.
