There's nothing quite as inspiring and overstimulating as a night walk through NYC. I love the city so much because there is literally a group of grown men and women playing a competitive game of flag football at 8:11pm on a Saturday night with 2 legit refs in pinstripe shirts. The game is on a brand new turf field right along the Hudson with the Financial Districts skyline glistening in the distance, enjoying the show just like I am. FiDi skyline is lowkey underrated.... But honestly, where else is this happening? I mean I'm sure it happens elsewhere lol but you see it all the time in NYC. Adults playing soccer, roller hockey, football, basketball, kickball, softball, etc. It's awesome. I think it is one of the good things about people living on top of each other in such an extreme manner. While it's cramped, everything is so close so it makes it so easy to get together. When I lived in LA, you needed to plan like two weeks in advance to link someone that lived far from you and then one of you probably bails last minute due to some crazy traffic or cuz that drive is horrend-Damn this chick just dropped a TD that hurts. QB put it right on the button too...next play mentality though. But in NYC, more so than anywhere else I've been, people feel safe and comfortable to be themselves. I'm a firm believer that in order to be truly happy, you need to be okay and content being yourself while also having a sense of belonging with other people. Some of my happiest times have been post men's league basketball game or pickleball league, just going out to a happy hour with the team BUZZING after a win. You feel so connected with other people and with yourself. At least I do. But I'm kinda a weirdo and think about sh*t like this too much ahahaha-- Damn this QB has a LASER ahahahaha I love watching a gunslinger. But yeah, I'm getting a little too reflective so Imma wrap this up. I get inspired when people do things that bring them joy, even if it's a flag football game at 8:23pm on a Saturday night. My child had tons of fun, made a lot of different friends, loved his coaches, and learned a lot of soccer skills. Each day they play soccer, learn new soccer skills, have some kind of activity (e.g., watching a soccer video, cheering as the coaches vs. assistant coaches play a game, a talent show), and go to the local splashpad. As the earlier review mentioned - definitely don't send your kid in expensive cleats or clothing! But, they usually do change into water shoes and swimsuits. A great choice for active kids who love being outside. Plus, if you register early the price is really affordable.

Kind of a difficult review to give because I found that the soccer training was very good but the…read morecamp experience and the counselors were terrible. At the end of the day when I picked up my son, the counselor didn't address me at all except to ask who I was here for. No, "Your son had a good day" or "He should work on this" No interaction with me as a parent at all. My son also came home after the first day soaked with his $175 leather cleats ruined because the counselors/coaches let him in the sprinklers with his uniform on, Pads and all. I understand that a 9 year old should be responsible for changing but my son told me that they were rushed to the sprinklers with no time to change and that almost all of the other kids were getting wet with their uniforms on as well. Lastly, they didn't seem to be keeping an eye on the kids with the sun. I guess my son forgot to put on his sunscreen but he came home burnt to a crisp. We've been to a couple of different camps over the last 2 years and the counselors/coaches are pretty well versed in dealing with forgetful 9 year olds and they understand that parents want to be spoken to. Strong soccer. Terrible camp experience.

The store itself? Massive. Clean. Feels like a shrine to sneakers and athletic greatness. You walk in and immediately feel like you should be warming up for a Champions League match instead of heading to brunch. Now let's talk World Cup gear. They definitely had World Cup apparel, but the selection felt like it was going through a mild identity crisis. Some racks were loaded with national team jerseys, scarves, and training gear--Argentina, Germany, Mexico... the usual heavy hitters. But then you'd turn a corner expecting a global soccer explosion and instead find... hoodies. Just hoodies. Regular hoodies. Like the World Cup took a lunch break. If you're hunting for a specific team or player jersey, it's a bit of a gamble. They've got solid staples, but don't expect every country, every kit, every size. It's more "greatest hits album" than full discography. The staff were friendly enough--definitely helpful if you asked--but not aggressively pushing soccer gear like it's stoppage time. Which is nice, but also... I needed someone to yell "GOOOOOAL" when I found my size. Pros: * Clean, well-organized flagship vibe * Solid selection of popular World Cup teams * Plenty of general adidas soccer gear if you just want to look sporty while ordering takeout Cons: * Selection can feel hit-or-miss depending on team/size * Not as soccer-overloaded as you might expect for a NYC flagship Final verdict: If you're in Manhattan and need World Cup gear quickly, this spot will absolutely get you match-ready. But if you're looking for a super deep, every-nation-represented soccer paradise, you might leave feeling like you hit the crossbar instead of the back of the net. 4/5 -- solid, but not quite a hat trick

The facility had several soccer turf fields, gymnastics area, and couple of basketball courts. The lobby area had a ton of awards, medals and trophies that all the teams won. There were multiple vending machines as well. There were several party rooms at the back side. The rest rooms were kids friendly, as they had mini sinks at lower height for smaller kids. There were multiple staff members assigned to conduct the party. First they took the kids to basket ball courts where they did some relay running, played dodgeball and then did rope tug wars. They took the kids to fountains for water break few times. After the activities, the kids went back to party room where they were served pizzas, fruits, cheese platter, juice and sodas. The pizzas were decent. Finally they orchestrated the birthday song, assisted with cake cutting ceremony and handed slices of cakes to everyone. Overall the service from them was nice.

We were supposed to start the game on Sunday and we didn't receive a confirmation email about our roster and start times until Thursday night around 8 pm. In addition , the league did a terrible job of balancing the rosters. There were 3 teams in our coed league and one other team consisted of free agents. We had 4 girls on our team and the other team had 8 girls on theirs. Usually this is fine but league rules has it that you need at least 3 girls to play on defense and a girl has to kick once every 4 turns. Also one of our games the ref was late over an hour. Finally , they schedule double headers so the games run late. We had to call two of our games since they were running late. One we couldn't see anything in the pitch dark so we called it for a safety issue. The other game we had to end our playoff game early. We had a chance to kick since we were bottom of the inning but zogsports referee said since the Game was running late whoever scores first wins the game. Felt like we got cheated. It doesn't help that they take 30 minutes plus to explain the rules each game. They also have happy hour deals after the game but the bars are so far away it's not feasible.

Customizing the medals to correlate with each season seems so simple in practice, but it really makes you feel like you are playing for something that not everyone is going to get every three months. On the field, he and the crew are ALWAYS hospitable and available for questions or concerns and that can't be said for every day-to-day interaction that we all have in life, let alone in our various paid adventures. But the camaraderie shown doesn't end on the field, that crew brings it to the bar creating a postgame atmosphere that allows you to be whichever social character that you want to be, whether you be introverted or extroverted. I will say the only thing stopping me from giving the league 5 stars is the silly rule in place where if the score is 6 points or fewer within 2 minutes, it's a pro clock, but if it's 7 or 8 (which is still a one-possession game), it's a running clock.

Be careful because their refund policies are awful. I'm requesting a chargeback from my credit card company because I no longer want to participate. I don't know who manages this organization, but it's clearly managed by adult babies who are unable to address poor staff or player behavior. Attending staff are useless - they don't care about the rules. There are some regular players there hogging up court time or wanting to play with their friends and not allowing equal court time to newcomers. Bunch of old farts acting like entitled grade schoolers. Staff are constantly on their phones and are just there to collect a measly paycheck. Utterly useless.

Finally the company emailed explaining that they had cancelled class for the four families due to low enrollment numbers. I continue to receive reminder emails from them even though the class was canceled. Truly disappointing to take away and mismanage an outdoor experience from excited children during a pandemic!
