I really don't like writing negative reviews - in general this school is not bad, however, they owe me a few hundred dollars which I've been trying to get back for a few months now and don't think I will.
Story:
Arrived to Baja for a week of kiteboarding, organized from SF with the school aware of my arrival and theoretically supposed to be ready for me. First day there was no wind, so I just came over, left my gear (they do have free storage for customers) and spoke with the staff to agree on time for a lesson for the second day when we were expecting wind. Also paid $550 for a 6-hour package, the staff promised that I'll get money back if there's no wind
Second day I show up at 12:30 for a lesson at 1 - there's wind, folks are kiteboarding - and my instructor is not there! He eventually came over at 3 pm... apparently, nobody told him I was around. I think - OK, this is Baja, things happen, I'll let it go.
Second day there was wind, I had a three hour lesson - but after that it was dead so I was expecting a refund on the remaining three hours. Well guess what, the staff miraculously disappeared! I went over multiple times, called, texted, emailed, first from Mexico and later from SF. Managed to get in touch with of one of them eventually who promised I'd get the money, but that was months ago and my PayPal is still empty.
At this point I've given up on the money - it's a large sum but what can I do - just wanted to warn you folks to book lessons through Playa at your own risk. They're unprofessional and, I'm sorry to say, dishonest. You'll be better off with one of the other schools in the area. read more
