Visited March 12-15, 2025. Took the gray whale journey for 3 nights and 4 days with Baja…read moreExpedition, specifically Nautilus (glamping tent which got a free upgrade). I enjoyed the humpback whale expedition which came with a free lunch and drinks. We saw a lot of action not terribly far from shore. They also offered a photo workshop. Believe this is more useful for folks that use a digital camera as opposed to a cell phone camera although she gave some tips on that as well. Both were complimentary (on March 11). There was nothing wrong with the trip per se but there are many parts that occurred to get you to where you end up finally. Everyone was nice but I feel like there is a drop in communication as there are too many parts of the wheel. The charter flight was about 2 and half hours so make sure you use the restroom. There is NO bathroom on board. Also for clothing, please make sure you are covered from head to toe. This is NO joke. The weather may seem hot as hades on shore except at night, prepare for windy freezing conditions (they provided a heater AND heating blankets). When you are on the panga and travelling fast, it will be windy and probably cold. However, when you are waiting for some action, you are under the sun in water. Do NOT wear shorts and bring a cover-up for your face as well. Caps/hats are all good ideas. They offered the gaiters and a wind breaker. I commend the luxury tent. This is really what you are paying for. The fact that you get your own porta-potty and running water was fantastic. The shower had more settings than my own shower. They also offer room service so if you don't want it, please let them know. The food was decent as well. Breakfast is buffet and there is a person who can make you an omelet and the lunch and dinner are plated. Honestly, unless you enjoy the feeling of a 5 star hotel, don't think it was necessary. You honestly don't have that much time to eat during this trip. The time is literally spent getting ready for and the whale excursions. There's a volleyball net, soccer goals & bikes for you but it was so windy and honestly not much time to do any of that. Happy Hour had a different "snack" each day (oyster one was awesome) but no alcohol is free except for the one you get when you get off the plane. The food and service was wonderful. Was every dish a 5? No, but you are in a place where they have to import everything. There is also a nightly 30 minute? presentation given by some of your tour leaders. This tour company had the furthest spot (closest to the airport) so you spend a good 30 minutes (travelling quite fast) to get to the area where the whales are (and don't forget the return trip). We saw plenty of whales but everyone is there to "touch" a whale. The last day there, all the boats in our area did manage to touch one and our boat collided with another panga. Luckily all, including the whale, were unharmed but needless to say, our panga did NOT touch one. It also sounded like the whales were not coming to that area as much anymore. In fact, some were spotted in Cabo. Pro Tips: You should ask they rotate the people on the boats so you're not always with the same captain or panga. If you don't mind sharing a central porta-potty, pick a tour company that is closer to the area where they gather. You will have more free time. Don't drink any diuretics before the panga rides as bathrooms are limited to nature (although some boats do have a bathroom). Pangas that are lower might be better because than when you reach over the boat, you're closer to the surface of the water and don't have to bend over as much. This is a desert area so keep that in mind when packing.

Our family of 4 adults did the grey whale experience the end of March. It was beyond amazing. Baja…read moreExp staff is wonderful and super friendl/helpful. The weather is fairly moderate at that point. Chilly at night and warm during the day. But be prepared for the night time wind. Bring earplugs as the tents slap against the poles most of the night. Not Baja's fault as you can't control the weather. Also, food is decent but keep in mind this is a camp in the middle of a national park so it is not high end resort food. Very good considering the remoteness of the location. Also having your own en-suite bathroom was everything!! No cold walks to the bathroom during the night.

The company then asked us if we wanted to go snorkeling which we agreed to but little did we know that it was with another company. We later found out when a taxi arrived to take us to the pier which ended up being with Marlin Adventures. At first we were disappointed that we werent booked with our original operator but in hindsight we are so happy. Th tour we got was to snorkel with sea lions. First let us tell you that it didnt start out great. All but 2 of us on this tour were same day bookings. One of the groups was having breakfast and were told to take their time for breakfast. So our 9am departure became 10. We left with tensions high with the angst of losing an hour of our tour (which the company said wouldnt effect the tour and that the hour lost would be gained at the tail end). All the tension was soon alleviated as we departed from the beach. As we are leaving to get our tour started there was pod of dolphins following our boat! The captain proceeded to drive in circles as he saw the delight of the passengers. Some of us went to the front to experience the dolphins jumping from the front and some of us stayed in the back to watch them follow and jump from the rear of the boat. On our way to Espiritu Santo, Arturo, our tour guide came up to me and told me to keep an eye out for whales. Not 3 seconds go by and boom, Whale!!! We then proceeded to follow the whale for the next 20 minutes! Another bonus we got for leaving late! It takes about 2 hours to get to the sea lion colony from La Paz and let me tell you that it was all worth it! The pups like to get up close and personal. They will swim right up to you. My wife later told me that there was one pup swimming and playing right around me constantly trying to stay out of my eyesight. He later jumped over my head and swam away and that was the time that I noticed it. Others will playfully bite your arm if you let it. The people that let the pups bite them told us that it didnt hurt at all, they were just curious. Since they have no hands, biting is how they explore. If you are a diver and with a snorkeling companion, this is a great tour to do. During the tour I also found out that the whale sharks are still there. The whale sharks are supposed to be gone, but they are still there. So after 5 years of trying to find them this was finally my chance. We booked a tour the following day to snorkel with them. The whale sharks are not located far from where we were. After about 20 minutes we found our first one. You see it from the boat and they tell you how big it is, but it doesnt prepare you for when you are in the water and face to face with this gentle giant. We spent maybe an hour with the whale sharks. It could have been longer but I was the only one jumping in at the end so I agreed to head back to town. I do have to tell you that I believe the last whale shark I jumped in with was very curious of me. I was the only on e in the water and I swear that the thing was following me. We just kept going in circles and circles. For both tours we had Arturo. He is very knowledgeable about the area and about the sea life. We found out that his girlfriend is a marine biologist and this is where he gets all his information. He is a little crazy but in a good way. Also before your tour, have breakfast in the place behind the tour office. Sebastian will tell you not to look at the menu and just ask you a bunch of questions to see what to cook. You want american or mexcican? Eggs or no eggs? Hungry or snacky? then he will whip up something for you. If you want he also has "happy butter" for those that need to ease some tension.

Dellis was excellent with our younger son (9yrs old) who was a little nervous in the water. She was always watching out for everybody in our group to ensure we had a good view of the whale shark. Our boat captain (Martin) did a great job keeping the boat close by so we could alternate going out (we had a total of 7 in our tour group) as there can only be a total of 6 people in the water (to include the guide) at any one time. They provided all the snorkel gear to include wet suits, mask, snorkel & fins. They also had a cooler with complimentary water & sodas for our group. Excellent service and we will be back the next time we are in Baja! They also accept credit cards. Highly recommend this company...their gear & boat are in excellent condition. Plus friendly service make it 5 stars!

We had planned a day charter that included 1 vegetarian. We discussed at least two stops to include snorkeling. We spoke with Carlos just prior to departure and he confirmed the itinerary. While we had a nice cruise, we only stopped once and no snorkeling. When we asked, the crew stated they were never told of any specific asks. Don't get me started on the food! The pictures on FB to no represent actual reality. It shows fresh fruit plates, ceviche, sashimi and other dished. We asked for vegetarian food and we got one bowl of guacamole. No tacos only ceviche. We have taken several other charters out of La Paz (for the same price) that included a chef preparing fresh meals to include fish tacos, ceviche, bean and cheese quesadillas, and fruit platters. This was definitely wanting. We brought our issues to Carlos his only response was his team did everything promised, which was not a true statement. I would have rated 1 but the crew tried so hard and any day at sea is terrific. Lots of other yachts to choose from in the future!

We paid $110 each for a 2.5 hour whale watching tour that included lunch and drinks thru out the trip. You also had to pay a $5 dock fee once you arrived. The ship is VERY clean and had at least six staff members constantly taking care of you- refilling drinks- they offered beer, tequila sunrise, pins coladas and such. They came around often for refills if you wanted- plus they had bottled water. They have very clean restrooms on board as well- like 4 stalls for each. We went out a couple miles and saw at LEAST 12 whales on this trip. So amazing. Captain Pepe did a ln excellent job of moving about to find them as well as turning the ship when needed to everyone could see. There's a max of 100 people allowed on board- I think we had about 65 on this weekday tour. The lunch was tasty and offered chicken or beef tacos with rice and beans. They also had a nacho bar with a nice pico, guacamole and hot sauce. They started lunch service at 11:30 and had everyone fed by noonish. They quiet the music when you're actively looking for whales and everyone participated watching and letting others know when they saw one. Big group effort!! It was a diverse crowd of many ages too so that was nice! They had us back exactly on time for us to ensure we were back to our ship on time. They were in good communication after we booked an ensured we knew where to go to board as well as answer any questions we had. We had a great day and I can highly recommend this tour company! NOTE- to those that posted a complaint that they weren't served drinks upon boarding before snorkeling- I believe that is a liability issue. I've never seen a tour provider allow you to drink before snorkeling only after. Just FYI

Even the first day of my rescheduled trip was cancelled due to high winds, but once again Anna was very communicative and refunded that day immediately. Luckily, the second day was a GO and I finally got to meet Anna and the crew of Angel and Pachito were just excellent the whole day; Angel is part fish because he just kept swimming and swimming and swimming along with the whale shark, while we all gassed out and swapped groups. I whole-heartedly recommend them for your Whale Shark experience or anything that they offer because they're an excellent operation.
