The menu is impressively expansive and while they are known for their classic acai and pitaya (dragon fruit) bases, they have branched out with options like mango, banana, coconut, and green blends, so there is truly something for every craving. Each bowl is loaded with fresh fruit and finished with many toppings. The Mango Power Bowl is a standout with mango vanilla protein, granola, banana, and peanut butter. It leans dessert, but fuels like a meal. Sweet, satisfying, and seriously filling. Inside, the tropical vibe makes it easy to kick back and stay awhile. I've visited this Playa Bowls location at least twice this year. Each time I went, it was a fairly good experience. During one visit, I got a smoothie along with some juices. On another occasion, I got my favorite Electric Mermaid bowl. My only complaint is that the pitaya base in my bowl was a bit chunky/icy and not smooth like I'm accustomed to. Nevertheless, I enjoy the fresh toppings on the bowl. The shop itself is usually clean and it has a good amount of space. There are several tables there to sit and enjoy your bowls or smoothies. I don't like chocolate so finding a snack to satisfy my tastebuds isn't easy but Playa has so many options and is so amazing in flavor. The menu is huge and you can easily order the items on the menu as is or feel free to remove items on any bowl and just as substitute with many other items. It's a really popular spot so you might want to order online and don't fret if your bowl is ready before you arrive the staff will always place it inside the mini refrigerator. The staff handles the droves of customers with ease and work well together juggling online orders and in person patrons. The store has a very nautical feel to it you have the feeling of being at a dock or the beach. They also sell t-shirts, sweatshirts, tanks, tumblers for beverages, baseball caps, and joggers just to name a few all with the company logo. I love Playa Bowls, and this location especially! I love many of their bowls, but my favorites/go-tos are the nutelloco and 8th Ave. You can't go wrong with any of the options, but the coconut and açaí based are delicious. I ordered the 8th Ave a few days ago, and it was made perfectly! The service at this location is always great, and everyone is always very friendly! The interior decor is cute and very much fits the beach vibe, from the murals to the ceiling. They sell limited amounts of merch too, with cute shirts, hats, and other items that change seasonally. The bowls can be pricey, but for the price are a good size and are very filling. This is a great stop for lunch to have a great healthy option, or for dessert since they're open later in the day. For dessert, it's a great dairy-free option as opposed to going to an ice cream shop. This is definitely the best açaí shop around! read more

This is my FAV Playa Bowls. I've been eating/ordering here since they've opened and I've never once had an issue. The bases and fruits have ALWAYS been fresh and they surprisingly haven't ever messed up my order. If I preorder, it's always been ready on time. If I go in to order, they're always quick. And when I get delivery, I never have any quality issues. The decor here is super cute and gives off all the island/beachy vibes. This location is bigger than most I've ever been to and always impeccably clean. Great food and great service. read more

Great product. Very delicious. So far I've enjoyed every bowl I've gotten but there seems to be a reoccurring issue. No sense of order. I understand it's a fresh made but there is no reason why someone who order was taken 3 people after me got their order first. Some people don't mind waiting but make the bowls in the order they were taken and not because they know your sister or brother or non denominational person that's 3rd in line. Missing items, bananas completely rotten, now this time my strawberries are complete mush and not fresh at all. Not to mention the acai is completely warm and soupy. Came here right after church. The cashier was very nice however when my bowl was ready I asked a simple question and felt attitude towards me. Then the girl walked away once I realized that I was missing something and the other girl just placed it in front of me very aggressively. So I had ordered through DoorDash in December so way over a month ago and my order was all wrong. I had called the store that night I ordered they told me I had to reach out to DoorDash directly to get my money back DoorDash wouldn't do anything for me they told me I had to go through the store so I reached back out to them and they gave me their managers info, well let me tell you what a doll and so nice to work with she was extremely nice and even helped try to get DoorDash to refund me the money. They wouldn't do anything for me so Olivia reached back out to me and told me because of all of this trouble I was going threw and knew that it was their fault she has refunded me the money and was extremely sweet. I NEVER write reviews but I had to in this case. I have been going to Playa bowl in Holmdel less than a year and EVERY TIME I have gone in there the staff is exceptional. I donl't know how you are finding young adults who are ALL so pleasant and patient. This week alone I was there Monday and again Wednesday and your staff is what keeps me driving To Holmdel for my bowls. Don't get me wrong your bowls are to die for but this week I had the pleasure of being waited on by Giuliano C, Liv C, Emily R and Riley M. Obviously the staff works well together but its more than that. Anyway I hope the owners realize how extremely lucky they are to have such a staff because no matter how good your product is if your staff is awful so will your business! The newest store in the Playa Bowls line and it will not disappoint. This is one of the biggest Playa Bowls I have been to and from the moment you walk in it is very inviting. The decor is very vibrant and welcoming . It has plenty of indoor seating ( outdoor only right now due to the pandemic) It is a relaxing place where you could sit for hours lost in your thoughts. Next the staff is very welcoming they are pleasant and attentive and read your order back to you to ensure they have it right!
