Assuming the order was mine, I took the bag and left. As soon as I got into my car, I received a phone call from someone who I believe was the manager, stating only that I had taken the wrong food. I immediately returned to the store and handed the bag back. The manager explained that it belonged to the other customers who had been waiting. He then asked me if I had opened the bag, which I had not--I had only just reached my car when I received the call. The other customers looked through the bag and said they would still take the food. Throughout this interaction, the manager did not apologize or take accountability for the mistake made by his staff. I was left standing there feeling as though I had done something wrong, and the situation made me uncomfortable, especially with the way the other customers were looking at me. I understand that mistakes happen, and I'm not upset about the mix-up itself. What was disappointing was the manager's lack of professionalism, communication, and apology. A simple explanation or acknowledgment would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression.

The bread was soggy, bacon cold, and arugula wilted. While I do have to give the barrel props on its ambiance, music, and location (as it is in the heart of my childhood hometown) I do recommend scanning over ingredients to make sure they are at the peak freshness, stocking the fridge with more grab and goes (maybe some pasta salad, wraps, or even sandwiches). My favorite thing that I like to get are their breakfast tacos. The tacos are filled with tofu scramble and topped with chili, a cheese-like sauce, and a slice of avocado. I don't know what it is, but I smash these tacos every single time I get them. They are so good! I honestly can't speak on much else because I get the same thing every time. Also, I buy one or two of their pressed juices. They make these in advance and are bottled. For the summer season, they have a juice that consists of strawberries, basil, beets, and more that is so very good. If you're looking for a place to get your vegan fix, this is the one.
