This place always hits the spot for something refreshing on a hot summer day or when you just want something delicious and nutritious. The service is always great. Staff is kind and polite even when there is only one or two of them working. So many options to try. The only issue is they are in an area that make parking very challenging. We went there around dinner time since we wanted something healthy and light. I got the dolce smoothie and it was delicious. The cafe was very cute with a fake fireplace and plenty of seats including some cushioned lounge sets but the cushions were dirty so we didn't feel like sitting on them. Service was fast but not really friendly. They literally took our orders and didn't say hello or any greeting. We were the only ones there so a greeting would've been nice. Playa bowls has the best smoothie bowls in the area. The serving sizes are big enough to make it a very filling meal, and they have a ton of base options if you don't like açaí. The granola they use has the perfect not too crunchy texture that becomes perfectly chewy with the smoothie bowl. I recommend the mango base or the pb and j bowl that has the perfect combination of açaí and peanut butter with fresh fruit! read more

Very nice establishment which made me feel like I was back home on Oahu. I got the pura vida açai bowl which tasted great but was a little heavy on the honey. The worker wasn't the friendliest but maybe she was just having a bad day. Newer location so it's clean and located in a cool strip with some other franchise restaurants and a food hall with local options. Menu is huge, smoothies, bowls, juices, oatmeal, etc. The decor is cute and there is so much seating, including an outdoor patio. The fruit was fresh , my electric mermaid bowl was delightful! Such a great alternative to the rest of the quick service world that is so unhealthy. My bowl was $13 but it's filling and worth it. No issues at this location. Got my green base bowl that was amazing. I really recommend the green bases. It was light and not as earthy as I thought it would be which was nice. The people who work there are teens. I will say this location is a lot more polite than the DTC. You walk in the greet you and when you leave they say good bye. Seems minimum but you're lucky to get that at the DTC location. Will be coming back to this one. Also they have rewards program if you're into that ! read more

Cute place. I got the pura vida açaí bowl. I loved the atmosphere and the decor but I didn't love the bowl. The fruit was okay but the açaí bowls are pretty frozen and then the granola was good but drenched in a thick layer of honey. I'm a Maui girl who is used to fresh everything and the fruit was good but just not super impressed with the quality of the açaí. I really don't like to complain but again this could've been solved by just offering to give me my money back. It's like pulling teeth with anybody anymore. Customer service is gone and I did go in and talk to the manager. There's a gentleman at the front desk or the front he's a young man he's always been very nice to me, but I had gone in there last Saturday, March 21 around 9 AM. I got a Pura Vida with peanut butter no honey like I have been doing for months. I go in there every day as around 9 AM. The reason I know is I was going downtown with my dad to an event. I ate the bowl left the house by 10 AM. The only thing I ate that day get down to the event around 11 start feeling like I'm dying around 1 o'clock by 3 o'clock when we left, I almost passed out. It was at the Colosseum downtown get halfway home. We were stopping. I'm throwing up and everything else diarrhea. Get home by 4:30. I am so deathly sick for the next four hours dry heaving can't keep water in me can't do anything. Had to go to the emergency room urgent care rather had to get IV fluid because it was so bad. They gave me an anti-nausea pill I threw that up the only thing I ate that day was that from there and I remember the strawberries tasting bad. I did get a hold of the gentleman upfront. He's always been super nice. He said the manager would be in Tuesday. I went in there March 24 spoke to the manager of the store. I guess the owner they switched who they buy their fruit from so I don't know what happened but they proceeded to tell me nobody else got food poisoning. I don't know what to say about that but it's the only thing I ate. I was definitely sick definitely sick and I spoke with her. She's like do you want me to leave your name for the manager or rather the owner so maybe they could get you a gift card all she had to do was say here's your $15 back there is no customer service. There is no common sense. I'm just very irritated because I was spending about $75 a week in there for at least nine months and I remember the strawberry tasting weird the strawberries but you need to think well this is fruit. You don't really realize that salmonella E. coli somebody out washing her hands the fruit being left out. I'm just kind of irritated that it was like I had to keep going back in to get any kind of action and I still got no action. These companies need to learn how to treat people I would not come on here and say this if I wasent DEATHLY sick It was so bad. I am just barely recovering and it's been four days and I can barely even eat still without being sick. I don't know how bad this was and obviously nobody else got sick, which is very weird so I don't know if I just got that part of the strawberries that were bad that scoop of them I don't know, but there would be no reason to lie but these companies need to learn management skills and customer service skills. They were nice but nobody tried to fix the problem. Hey here's your $15 back for the hundreds of dollars that you've spent. I will not eat in there again I'm sorry and the people at the front of the register they've been very nice but I just think it's a little ridiculous that nobody even offers to give you your last money back that you paid for this now the manager not the owner, but the manager said oh you don't want me to leave your name to the owner so maybe they can give you a gift card. I just wanted my money back that was it but take it for what you will. I got sick though I know because it was the only thing I ate. read more

I came here to escape the noise at my house and to cool down from an already terrible Morning. I had a taste for an açaí bowl and they were the closest with the best menu. The decor is top notch and absolutely beautiful. Everything is colorful and very inviting, it kind of gives off a beachy vibe. I was greeted upon entry and despite my crabby nature the cashier Jennifer remained polite and positive. She was patient when I tried to decide what I wanted and was super helpful with suggestions on what I should try. I ended up grabbing the Nutaya bowl without coconut flakes. I also grabbed kombucha and a hydration juice. I could tell Jennifer was new to the team, but she did an amazing job. This will be my new go to place. Didn't catch their names but one was a male with glasses, and shoulder legthn blond hair, and another short female worker who seemed new to the company - but they were both extremely friendly.
