Service is okay, the chips and salsa had a very long black hair and the chips are not fresh. Wait time for food was long.

Love the dark aesthetic and chill vibes. Everyone was friendly and food was excellent. My favorite dishes are the rib eye tacos and birria beef tacos. Rib eye steak was tender and had a hint of that char grill flavor. The birria tacos and consomé was also really flavorful. We enjoyed the tequila flaming fajita and the mini flame show as well lol. The chicken and shrimps were good but similar to my experience at the South Center location, the beef was really chewy (like over cooked). I also think they served way more veggies compared to meat proportions for their fajitas. My Dad got the burrito especial with grilled chicken and it was huge! He thought it was alright and got sick of it pretty quick because of how much rice and beans there were. We also ordered the margarita flights which were served in these cute mini glasses. I thought the pineapple coconut had the strongest alcohol taste whereas the passion fruit-guava and pina azul tasted like juice (I'm not a big drinker so I thought it was perfect). The pina azul tasted similar to a flat Baja Blast from Taco Bell with a hint of alcohol. Overall, we enjoyed our experience here. The only negative thing is we made a reservation at 8:00PM and came early at 7:30PM; at check in, they said at first we could get in sooner since we arrived but then quickly was told to actually wait until our reservation time (and that's totally fine and makes sense since we reserved for 8PM!!). I was just confused because the group that were walk-ins waiting got to go in before us. There wasn't anyone else waiting for a table and by the time they sat us, turns out there was plenty of open tables available... I just thought they'd want people to be seated sooner if they've arrived and had tables available since it was already 8PM and they close at 9PM lol.

I was suspicious of this place. The overall review score isn't real strong, but let's be honest,…read moremost restaurants aren't impressing like they used to. There aren't a lot of solid Mexican choices in the area, so sometimes you got to settle for whose established on the block. The last time I had Mexican here, there was a place called Melaque, or something to that effect, but they are long gone. Service here was really slow, from being seated, to having our order taken to getting our drinks refilled. That said, despite service being inexcusably slow, it was polite and friendly. The chips didn't taste real fresh. And the salsa was less than chunky r flavorful, but the meal was served hot. All restaurants say hot plate, but these people meant it. The meal was probably a C+, but the way that plate was smoking, it promoted the flavor to a solid B. Price and portion were both reasonable and if this place was on my block, I wouldn't hesitate to come back. Another beef I have has become more common. Places are not serving signature plates for lunch like Carne Asada, Carnitas, etc. Only ground beef and chicken items. Lunch is a great way to sample the menu and you are serving those items anyway, so why not for lunch. In the end, pretty basic and nothing special other than the heat of the meal. 3/5.

MUST TRY MEXICAN FOOD! Worth the drive too!…read more A little hard to find but once you're in the little strip mall you'll find it. What an amazing little restaurant, you will feel like you stepped into Mexico with the beautiful music, the great culinary pieces and the AMAZING food!

We got the bone marrow, asada vampiros, asada tacos and 2 queso fundidos one with chorizo and one with adobada. Presentation 8/10 - flavor 2/10. The best way I can describe it is that they are just trying too hard. Instead of serving the queso with chips they bring mini corn baked tostadas with no seasoning or flavor. It's just bleh. Chips would have been just fine. One plate came with a small side of whole beans, also no flavor. The only plus is they are very generous with the meat portions. The queso fundido had the consistency of chewy rubber and was serviced in a way where the cheese did not stay hot. Versus other places service with a hot cast iron skillet to keep cheese soft and warm. Service was B+. friendly but not very knowledgeable about the menu or add-ons. I would say probably just inexperienced. No beer or spirits available because they don't have their license yet. They the final blow was when the check came, they added an automatic 18% gratuity without saying anything to us. Overall not worth the hype and definitely not with price. Sorry. Buyers remorse :( Wish I could get my money back.

Sunday Sip's were previously at a different venue but just recently it started here and it's a great place for this event. I have always liked the food here and we have gone here twice now in recent times not only for the Sunday Sip but also for a meal with friends. The mixed cocktails are great as is the food which I have always been partial to. Out of the recent visits I had an amazing torta, something I haven't had in a long time and a bowl with their tequila chicken for the meat which was also excellent. The more I come here the more I like it having it come at five stars at this point and time.

My sister suggested we get something to eat post tattoo at Red Star taco bar. I always get a bit sketchy about eating tacos way up here, as I am from Austin, but I was hungry and this establishment was close to the tattoo shop. So we went. What a chill place, great music, and a very interesting menu. Blake, the bartender, was nothing short of amazing. He suggested a great beer and I began reviewing the menu. There was the usual this and that of tacos , two stood out and sounded pretty damn unusual and delicious. I ordered two, one being the sriracha honey tofu, with cabbage, cilantro and pineapple and second being the kara'age fried chicken with sesame seeds, chili garlic sauce, and cabbage. Both on homemade corn tortillas. Both were absolutely phenomenal and pretty damn unusual. We struck up a great conversation with Blake on his adventure from moving from Philly to Tacoma. What a sweet guy! When we were leaving he said we made his day, but you know what, he made ours. If you get the chance please give this place a try, you will not be disappointed!
