Wait actually this is such a nice place!!! I was so pleasantly surprised and impressed! When you walk in there is a well lit room in the front where you get to choose a clay piece to paint and, if with kids, the ideal space to sit for a fun painting time. They help you choose some paints to start with and you can add as much as you want yourself and you have many different utensils to use. In the back you have a more party vibe with spinning wheels for classes, food, and drinks. It was honestly an incredible time with amazing service and incredible vibes. read more

Had a wonderful time at the Clay Bar (adult only back room of Play with Clay), painting bowls and having drinks with a friend for my birthday. Very friendly and helpful staff, a wide selection of paints and pottery to choose from, and a lovely drinks and food menu! We only ordered drinks so I can't speak to the quality of the food, but the drinks were great. We painted smaller bowls, each around 25$, which includes the cost of having them fired in the kiln. Would absolutely go back next time I visit Guelph. read more

I had fun making my pottery piece, but unfortunately, I have to say the the service has definitely gone downhill from years ago. I made a reservation for the clay bar for a team building session for my workplace, and we sat and waited for 1/2 before anybody brought our clay, took food/drink order or even to say that they were running behind. The instruction was very brief, though our questions were answered while a staff member was available. When picking up our items, for both firing times, they were not able to locate our pieces and we had to wait quite a long time to get them. Some of the staff were very friendly, but there were a couple of them that were not friendly at all. It's Too bad- it was a great place to go but now that it's bigger, the service isn't great. An absolutely fantastic way to spend a few hours! Let your creativity flow! Great for all ages from children to adults (or adults who have the painting skills of children, such as myself). The staff is always helpful, whether you need painting tips, or even ideas to get started on your project. AND, the best part is that you can take AS LONG AS YOU WANT to finish your project! There is no time limit! If you don't finish it in one sitting, take it home, then bring it back to work on it later! I have made some really badly painted pottery things here that I am super proud of. I always feel like a beaming child, handing over my glue-and-macaroni picture to the staff. And they (as good parents do), always praise me for my terrible art. It's a great time whether you're by yourself, or with a group of friends. Try Play With Clay for a DIFFERENT kind of outing!
