Got useful feedback and recommendations for other brands of shoes that would be a good fit if I wanted to run longer distances. All in all, I left the store with some new socks (Balega silver), a foot roller (Nano X), and a brand new pair of shoes (ASIC Gel-DS Trainer 24) for under $200. Why buy goods from a store where the workers/manager are rude and just plain unhelpful and nasty, when you can go to Nordstroms where you feel like you're treated with dignity and kindness?? He gives you what you need and you're done. Here's a typical experience (after multiple visits): me walking in smiling and chatty. I ask for XYZ. He - not smiling and not chatty - gets me XYZ with minimal fuss and fanfare. I check out. That's it. Prices aren't too bad and it's nice to go someplace local, where he has what you need and you walk out with what you need and sized correctly.
