After 3 attempts, it finally worked. I called B & L to diagnose why my electric bills were so high (unrelated to the hot water heater). Brian not only diagnosed the problem (a setting on my whole house generator), he also discovered the other company's "fix" was to disconnect my fire alarm and use that line for my hot water heater! All of the electric service was top notch, the electrician I used for my kitchen remodel told me the work was fine. However, the new mast they installed was horribly installed. They installed the flashing ON TOP of the shingles above the mast, put two nails through it and the all the shingles, gobbed some tar on it and left it at that. I called Amp Electric and gave my complaint to whoever answered the phone. Was called back later saying that is they way they do it and it is fine. It took six shingles because we had to replace the ones that had nail holes through the surface. My cost was only $160 to repair because I already had the shingles. So a mixed review. Don't have them do anything except electric work.

The tech also coped an attitude of higher than thou when speaking with a paying customer. I was in the wrong for asking for some clarification on verbiage. The feeling was that their word was good but my word was not. I could trust they would do the job correctly and to code but they did not trust me at all, unless I signed away all my rights. Is this what we are getting to? The verbiage on their documents was so general that if I were to accidentally fall in their parking lot I would be liable to pay for all court costs and lawyers on both sides. The tech then said this is all normal and I was the problem. Respect for my concerns was not shown at all. They had the full payment in their pocket before moving a finger, then I have to sign that I will pay if anything goes wrong. That is not how you treat a customer. Are they used to being sued? Is this a common thing out there? Do they deal with cooks and criminals all the time? Their price was overly high as a 40 gallon gas water heater should not be $3,500. They left me with nothing in writting. No receipt for my money, no guarantee in writting. I am sure they will email me something. After all the only untrustworthy side was me (the customer). The tech insisted that the work was all up to code several times, is that extra? Isn't their work supposed to always be to code? isn't that expected.
