I try to sell this plato's and they never buy anything at all. they are brand new jeans or clothes nothing wrong with them and when you look around in the store it's literally the most oldest clothes that literally say the cringiest things... some of them are like super faded too and they can't buy my stuff that isn't faded basically looks fresh out of the store ?? this place is a joke stop hiring children to work here. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE, unless you want to look like a 16 year old that hasn't bought clothes since they were 13. The clothes are outdated, dingy, and grossly overpriced. They also don't buy women's plus size clothing. And the things they buy are things that I would have thrown away. It's all just Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, and old Buckle. LAME. Plato's Closet - ENJOY! - Women's Clothing Near Me - Terre Haute, Indiana

So I live in Effingham, Illinois and we were planning a trip to Terra Haute today. So I called Plato's today and ask a person who answered the phone if I could still bring in swim suits. I have Victoria Secret suits, and they are new condition. They said yes I can bring them in. So we drive an hour there and leave the items. I got a call 5 minutes later to let me know that they were done. They had a pair of my jeans laid out on the counter, that they offered me $3.00 for. I was then told that they were no longer taking swimsuits. This is a ridiculous way to treat people. read more

I don't know how they get all their stock, because they never take my clothes, even though they're Aeropostale, American Eagle, and Abercrombie. They didn't take my jeans. Jeans. Because apparently black or blue jeans aren't in style. Selection is nice, so there's that. Good place to buy from, but good luck selling more than about 2 shirts. read more

This store was extremely messy. Most of their stock was old, outdated clothes that looked worn and gross. There was little to no organization in this store and the staff was rude, both texting on their phones behind the counter. I also tried to sell here, with all like-new clothes that I have only worn a few times, even some stuff from Maurices with the tag still on it, and they refused to take any of it. Not a great experience, and I would suggest saving your time & not even bothering with this place. It is simply not worth it. read more

This place is trash and definitely not what it used to be three-five years ago. Used to always go in and sell my name brand clothes and they always took my items and always walked out happy. Went today they said nothing about my items and wanted to take three items and offered me $7. Bke, Maurice's, and other designer clothing was not wanting to be taken. Never going back. I generally don't like consignment stores so my bias is undeniable here. I brought in a few items the other day to "test" these guys out--a pair of jeans from express (worn exactly twice--cost around $30 on sale) and a white blazer from express (also worn twice and cost about $30). I was told that the white blazer was too formal for what they like to buy. I was offered $6 for the jeans. I took the $ because i felt like being charitable that day and frankly am too busy to try and find a different consignment store. Judging by the items already in the store, I get the gist that high end clothing will not be greatly appreciated/recognized/wanted here. Therefore I wont be bringing in the True Religion jeans, Kate Spade dress, or Tieks ballet flats I'm thinking of getting rid of...Having lived in major cities like Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, I recognize that some consignment stores can have some really nice stuff. I find good deals in here for my daughter, but many of their items are overpriced and the staff isn't real friendly. $25 for a pair of used Nikes isn't a good deal. I can get that deal on NEW shoes at the department stores. But I have found some good shoe deals here. They do have a great selection of pants and tops but not much for shorts or dresses. They need to lower their prices and add more inventory to make it a better place to go. I would be there every week if they got it right! read more

When I walked in the store I was greeted by the nice staff, I was satisfied with the amount of clothes they bought from me and their men's shoes are awesome not just the price. They even have a lot of good quality of shoes . Even the owner was their to greet me. Overall a great experience. read more

Don't waste your time going to this store, numerous times I've gone in there wanting to sell (nice) clothing and I've been offered next to nothing. I brought in sperrys, Victoria's Secret clothing, juicy couture bags, and sun dresses and I was told that these were styles that hadn't sold well in the past. These clothes were in great condition and from a smoke free home. When looking in the window you see Victoria's Secret clothing from practically 1990 and half of the clothes smell awful. Don't waste your time buying or selling at this location. read more
