I brought two bins of clothes, all old navy and American eagle, with tags and good condition. they took one shirt of the top bin and I got $1.75 for it. All of the other clothes were exactly how I had folded them and still placed in the bin the exact way. I had dropped the bins off and got the text they were ready maybe 10 minutes later. There's no way they went through two large bins that fast. Has me contemplating not shopping with them any more. Shopping wise they always have something similar to what I'm looking for but I don't have great experience with them buying clothes read more

besides the attitude of the workers when I walked in to bring a small tub of clothes, I stuck around to watch them. one girl barely looked at the clothes and just pulled 2 items out. then I was offered $4.00. are you kidding me?! for shoes that have never been worn and a small handbag that was also new. I said I don't think I'll take that. she practically threw them back at me, pushed the tub back toward me, and walked away. what a lovely experience - not. never going back. read more

Drove 45 mins to come there and sell some clothes and the girl at the counter was extremely rude and short answered with me, half the time didn't even respond to some of the things that I said... Will not be selling my clothes there again. read more

If you could image a worse place to shop for anything you'd be wrong. There was a terrible atmosphere here. Employees were rude inappropriate and outright painful to deal with. I wish I had more anxiety meds before I went in there to deal with the amount of stress that is now apart of me. I just wish they had the common decency to make any effort into being any bit of a realistic shop. read more

I was the only person in the store. The girl at the counter looked up at me but did not acknowledge that I was there. I told her that I had dropped off clothes earlier. She didn't even look up at me when she asked how I spelled my name. Another girl went to get my clothes, and just said "Can't take anything". No big deal, They can't take everything that comes in, but not one smile out of either person working and no effort made at customer service. The least friendly staff I've ever experienced and I won't be going back. Better off donating to Goodwill. read more

I hate this store. None of my high end clothing is ever accepted and the clothing that is for sale is ratty and usually fairly worn. The prices are horribly expensive for such low quality clothing. I have brought items with tags still attached and the employees deemed those items to have "too much wear and tear". I've also brought in shirts from Urban Outfitters, Zara, and American Apparel that were not purchased from me. I would not recommend shopping here unless you feel like paying exorbitant prices for shoddy clothing. read more

I remember when Pato's Closet was this dinky little store in Sioux Falls. Now Plato's Closet has expanded. It used to only sell female clothing, but now it sells men and women's clothing. I have always enjoyed shopping at Plato's Closet because you get to buy name brand clothing at a decent price. I do think the price on certain pieces of clothing is higher than it would have been 5 years ago. They now sell more than just clothing. They also sell scarves, sunglasses, shoes, jewelry, and cosmetic items. This is a second hand store, but items such as cosmetics are not used obviously. I am not a huge fan of the location of Plato's closet. It is on 41st street which is a busy street in Sioux Falls, so in that aspect, it probably helps business. But when it comes to leaving the parking lot, it is near to impossible to get back on 41st street because there is no stop light. I always leave the back way. There is an exit behind Plato's closet that makes it easier to get back to 41st. The staff is always nice. The one thing that frustrates me is that Plato's says that they will buy back clothing. But whenever I bring my clothing there, they never accept it. It is name brand clothing, but apparently it is too casual. The majority of what they sell is casual wear, so it is frustrating to try to sell back clothing and it not being accepted for absolutely no logical reasoning. read more
