Self-service lady was default disgruntled mode. I've shopped at Costco's in just about every large city I've vacationed in/near, and this by far had the worst customer service. The lady got angry that we had two separate orders (two account holders) in one shopping cart. Wanted to rush us through the checkout process and kept making passively aggressive comments, finally I had to tell her to go stand where she was and I'd ask her to come over when she was needed. Then when she was needed for alcohol, she got confused by the order arrangements and made us conduct a separate 3rd transaction. That could've been a one off but on the way out, our 2 year old daughter asked the door checkout man to please draw a smiley face (silly kid request but still) on the receipt and he deadass said no. Never in all my years, I just laughed and left. A bunch of silly geese as this place, sorry for the Sioux Falls folks since this is the only Costco game in town. read more

Absolute GARBAGE customer service from The lady watching the self checkout on 8/16 around 4:45pm literally scolded my family like we stole from her personally because we accidentally used a different payment method than the card member holder. There was a much better way to handle the situation than to publicly and loudly make your guests feel like they're trash. She needs to learn her place and role in customer service.... just not someone I would have greeting my guests, if you ever want return customers maybe stick her in the back where she can't talk to people? read more

I took in our Jeep Renegade to get new tires. We had been trying to sell this extra vehicle that had been sitting in our garage, but no one was buying with worn tires. We decided that maybe we dump some money and hang onto it for when our 14 year is ready to drive. I ordered Firehawk tires online. They ship quickly and I schedule an appointment online about a week out. I get a text saying they can likely get me in earlier and to call the store. They get me in 3:15 that day. Up to this point, I'm thrilled with the experience. I drop the vehicle off a little early, around 3:00. Keaton tells me roughly an hour. I meet the technician when walking back to my car to place the number on it. He is driving it in as I walk away. At 3:36 I get a call stating that they are having difficulty removing one lug bolt. Thought they would have already had all the tires off at this point. They asked for permission to use a breaker bar with the warning they could potentially break the bolt off. I granted permission as I have used a breaker bar countless times and have never broken off a bolt. The phone call lasted 37 seconds. At 4:22 I get a text that tires are installed and ready to be picked up. Keaton was prompt in checking me out and discussing tire rotation, warranty registration, etc. He reviews the notes that says that they called me to get permission to use breaker bar. At no point does he mention that the lug bolt broke. It also says LR fender scratches. He wasn't sure what that meant. The car is not in perfect condition, and I wasn't real worried about it. I was on my way. I instantly take the car on the interstate to test the new tires. I run it 20-25 miles at 85mph. It is a smoother quieter ride. I pick up my 14-year-old. I let her drive at 80 mph down the interstate. Head home happy with our purchase at this point. The next day I decide to top the car off with gas. I look down and notice there is a lug bolt missing. Shocked that this was not mentioned at checkout. I check the notes on the receipt in the glove box. I go to the driver's rear fender, there's a pretty significant scrape there that looks pretty fresh. I have several recent photos of this car because we were trying to sell. Reference the photos. Zoom in and there's nothing there. Now I'm concerned. I call the store. They claim the fender scratches comment was them documenting prior damage. That's odd. This car has a prior salvage title. It is far from perfect and has pretty noticeable scrapes and peeling paint on the passenger front fender. No mention of that. I'm also concerned they made no mention of the missing lug bolt. I talk to a manager Izzy who says they are going to escalate this. I need to come in and fill out a form if I want anything done about the damage. No email option. I decide to remove the tire with the missing bolt to see if I can get out the yielded bolt stem and at least make this safe to drive. I can easily remove the broken off bolt with a needle nose pliers. Why didn't Costco do this? It was not stuck at all. Makes me think it was never stuck. My guess is they had already broken this bolt somehow when they called me 36 minutes into the installation. I did go in to file a damage complaint. I'm not as concerned about the damage as I am the complete lack of transparency and total disregard for safety by not telling me there was a bolt missing. I'm thankful I noticed the missing bolt and nothing happened when I was going 85 mph. They had me fill out a form but documented absolutely nothing. Jeep was outside. No photos. Didn't even want to see it. I honestly don't think anything is going to happen. They hope I get sick of their red tape and move on. This is my reason for writing this. I have kicked around the idea of getting tires installed by a reputable local shop and returning these. I've already spent too much time dealing with the vehicle. Maybe buy your bulk grocery items at Costco but leave the safety of your family's vehicles to the professionals. If we keep the tires and vehicle, really questioning if this is where I want my tires rotated. I expected so much better out of Costco. read more

The employee interaction I had at this store was extremely off putting. I had my membership out to show the door greeter, and they had their back completely turned away from the door, leaning towards the exit side, not paying attention. After pausing with my membership in hand, I shrugged my shoulders to my friend, and I kept walking. That employee then chased me down to lecture me about not showing my membership at the door halfway into the store causing a humiliating scene. And then he continued lecturing me AFTER I showed him my membership. I pay for the privilege to shop at Costco, not to ensure your employees do their job. Nor should your employees berate customers, especially when they were the ones not paying attention. Also, you can't purchase items without a membership, so to have an employee react like that was ridiculous. read more

We have the best Costco ever! We been a devoted customer and proponent since the store opened in our community. Sadly, Citibank's unreasonable interest rates and Costco's immoderate annual membership fee is going to force us to say goodbye. Placing our phone call today to discontinue membership and paying off card balance before they escalate interest rate. The "low cost" gas and warehouse prices are really recovered versus representing a true savings. What a shame! This is what I look for, a Costco along our trip route so we can save on gas; in this case only two miles from our hotel. In fact, we drove past it initially to check in at our hotel first and then to Costco to fill up the tank. The Costco gas stations are uniformly one way for faster fill and go with less traffic congestion. Like other locations, there was no provision for cleaning your windshield, no quick mart, and no restrooms, again to move everyone through faster. Since a couple of restaurants we had identified for dinner were both closed for dinner on Monday, we decided to just have dinner at the Costco food court-$1.50 Hot Dog Deal, anyone? My wife got her personal favorite, the Very Berry Sundae! Maybe we can try one of the closed places on our way back, along with another Costco gas stop! read more

Avoid the Tire Center Love the SF Costco store itself, too bad they don't allow you to review their sub-stores separately. The Sioux Falls Tire Center is the absolute worst Tire Center I've been to in three states. Those "free tire rotations" or "free tire repairs" usually always result in some surprise charge (s). i.e. Swollen lug nuts, dead sensor, tire unrepairable, incorrect prorated price for replacement tire. Stick with Discount Tire or another local tier shop that is willing to step up and provide service and honor warranties. Again, I love Costco overall and hate to give a bad review but they need to have a separate Yelp listing for the Tire Center. Their red headed step child. read more

What's not to love about Costco? Glad that there's one in this city, as there aren't really any west of here for a while. Gas is cheap, as is everything in the store relative to the outside world. Love the store and the products, but this business of "enforcing" membership has gone a little too far with one of the Managers. We live 50 miles away, so if my kids are going to SF for something else, we usually ask them to pick up a few things for our family at Costco. They live with us and it is all for our household. Their ID's show the same. I understand if someone's friends, or distant relatives are using their membership, it should be stopped. We have been members since they opened in Sioux Falls. The place has gotten busy and they could use a location on the west side of Sioux Falls. They have the best gas prices in town. We like their choice of meat and fruit. Overall they have great organic food options too. Even their clothing section has some good quality clothes at good prices. It is much nicer than the Sams Club in town. I highly recommend. read more

The card can resale for my restaurant and market, today I bought a lot of clothes in the Costco, but the employee told me that I can not do resale for market, I have never seen the kind of bad situation from other states, only Sioux FALLS, so I believe there is discrimination, and this has happened more than once. So I get to costco and realize I forgot my mask at home 25 miles back. Ask for one at the door and was refused. So I wait outside and get a used one from a stranger then go into the store. Bought a box of 50 masks and brought them to the front door and told the kid if anyone needs one give them one, he agrees. Ten minutes later I see the masks are gone so I ask him where they went he assures me he has them in a different box and will give one out if anyone asks. 2 minutes later I snag a lovely lady and ask her to test him for me. He denies her a mask. I step around the corner ask him where they are he said manager took them. I go over to customer service and not 30 seconds here he comes with that box blaming someone else. I got this mans attention and told him I have never had a Costco employee tell me it wasn't his job to answer my question. He shrugged and walked away from me not caring about my question. The food court wait times are crazy these days, there is never any food ready and I have to wait and wait - even for hot dogs. Plus, the new older man from India is actually rude when my wife asked for an extra plate. I had a very unpleasant experience at this warehouse on Sat 29 Sep. I tried to get change made to buy a bottle of KS water & a coke from the vending machines and 3 employees told me it was a "Costco corporate wide policy" that they were not allowed to make change. As I have literally been to hundreds of Costcos around the country and around the world this irked me because I know for a fact this is NOT TRUE. Ever since Costco dropped Coke for Pepsi in the food courts I have been getting change made at every Costco I go to so that I can buy coke b/c I do not like Pepsi. After I acknowledged okay this might be your warehouses policy I politely disagreed w/ 3 different employees that "not making change policy" is by NO MEANS a Costco corporate wide policy. Its totally fine this is their policy, warehouse managers have the right to make their own policies and if that is their policy fine that is their policy - HOWEVER, the fact that they continued to insist it was a company wide policy wasn't even the most irritating part- the worst part was that all three employees became so rude & condescending towards me. I have NEVER been treated so poorly by any Costco employees. Literally in every other situation a warehouse does have some specific policy they tell me "well actually our policy is XYZ... but we can accommodate you this one time. Because you know Costco is supposed to be known for their extremely good customer service. (Well apparently all Costcos except Sioux Falls.) And FYI Sioux Falls: BOTH Fargo & Baxter made change for me w/ ZERO issues because "not making change for people" is YOUR policy - NOT a Costco corporate policy!!! read more

I went to Costco with my fiance today to pick up my medication. I met Candy at the door, she was a greeter. We told her we were here to get my fathers prescription. We did not have my parents costco card on us, she called her "manager" Al. He told us we could not go to pick it up without a costco card. My fiance decided to look it up to see if it was true or not. The answer was "you can use the Costco pharmacy and get its lowest prices WITHOUT being a member. We came back in to talk to Candy, she told us we needed a manager to escort us, the manager came and asked her why would we need a costco card to pick up a prescription? She let us go. We got the prescription and my fiance confronted "Al" he continued to argue and even when the female manager came over he argued with her. I feel like we were subjected to sexism and prejudice about young people. I would like to see "Al" fired. read more

Hey.. guess who pays for the damage if a wheel falls off my car following a tire rotation and I did not wait 38 minutes (after waiting two hours for a rotation the day before) for someone to retorque the nuts which I can do at home in three minutes? Employee asked me that question after he told me I needed to start bringing the car back for torquing... and I told him about my last wait.. well guess what.. it will not be Costco.. thanks for that! Told him he was digging a deeper hole and he just kept after it. Try apologizing for your lousy tire center service next time. Have read several negative nationwide tire center reviews and reconsidered talking to the manager. I will never buy another item from a Costco tire center.. odd as the rest of the store is stellar and they have my loyalty. Back to Sams Club for tires! Ordered a pizza to go & was told it would be 10 mins. Which was fine. After 15 mins I asked if it was done and they said sorry we put it in the window where they put all the others pizzas to sell by the slice. So they had to make me another pizza which took another 10 mins. I should have went to Little Ceasers instead. Costco is by far the best wholesale warehouse in Sioux Falls. They carry a wide selection of products that are complimentary to the season. The prices are very competitive compared to others. When it comes to freshness the fruits, vegetables, and meats are remarkable. I've been a member for over a year and half now with no complaints. The customer service is hard to beat since they practically take back any of their products with very little questions. This even includes foods, electronics, and clothes. We love Costco and this location has great customer service and a pretty good product line. There are quite a few organic foods and their antibiotic/hormone-free rotisserie chicken is always delicious. Costco treats their employees well and it shows!
