Shopping As far as shopping and variety of clothes I love this Plato's closet. I always find stuff that I like with decent prices. More expensive then Goodwill but a good value vs buying from the actual store. They consistently have a ton of stuff so I think it's a great place for thrifters. But I've never found any high-end clothing brands. Still I would give 5 stars. Selling As far as selling goes I'm mostly happy with what I get for my items. I would guesstimate I usually get around 80-90% of retail value. But usually I'm selling stuff that I'm on the verge of giving to Goodwill so something's better than nothing. Or I will try Plato's first for fast cash and if they don't buy it then I'll list online. For higher price name brand stuff I don't think they are a good place to sell to. For instance my sister tried to sell Jordan's there that had a $150-250 resell and they offered $20. Also I've learned that you must call the day of or even before right before you head there to make sure they are buying. I've shown up a few times within buying hours and have been told they aren't buying. Overall Staff is nice. They have fitting room and a good return policy to be a thrift store. I believe you get a refund within 14 days and store credit after that. read more

Why do I even bother coming here? I already tried the Plato's up in Fishers and for the next couple of days, they're closed for renovation. Unwisely, I suggest coming to this disaster of a store. I say everytime I come here, I won't be back.. but somehow always end up giving them another undeserved chance. We walk in 15 minutes past 6 and "we don't buy after 6pm". So why do you stay open until 9pm? For fun? To waste time? There were atleast 4 employees standing around doing NOTHING and they were not at all busy. God forbid you do your job. Oh and unlike most Platos stores I've been to, they won't accept leaving your stuff there overnight and calling you the next day when it's gone through. And this is why I prefer to go to the Plato's on Fishers. Hopefully next time I'll have enough sense to steer clear of the trainwreck and stick to waiting for the Fishers location to be open. read more

Meh, I stopped in here after the holiday to see if they had any decent priced workout leggings. I didn't stay long. On their door they have signs posted that masks are required to shop. When I walked in there were three other people shopping without masks. I let it go, because retail workers do not get paid enough to get yelled out by angry customers about masks. Then I realized one of the people shopping was actually a worker organizing some clothes on a rack. I looked behind the counter and all but one of the workers did not have a mask on! Like one worker out of the six staffed was wearing a mask. Sooooo why have a sign posted about wearing a mask if you're not enforcing your own employees? The store seemed clean and organized but I was only in there for a few minutes before I left. I would avoid this location during the pandemic. CHEERS! read more

Took clothes in to sell, made some money. The girls who work there are disrespectful and I felt uncomfortable the entire time. I took my clothes in at 10:32 and I was second in line - everyone who came in after me was done before me and I was told that my clothes were pushed to the side because they got too busy even though when I first signed in they told me i would receive a text within 30 minutes. I was there until 1:45 pm waiting. They gave me $14 for brand new Timberland Boots that they are selling for $100-$120 that are in poor used condition and they gave me $7.99 for a pair of UGG fluff yeah slides. The girls who work here are not friendly and they all just stood around talking about everybody. I left in tears because one of them just was so rude and snobby like I made decent money it wasn't that but just someone needs to teach these girls some manners or something read more

If I could give them a zero I would. This place is such a scam. Third time in here this week to try and sell clothes and there is a sign on the door that says they aren't buying today. When I was here on WEDNESDAY I asked what are your consistent hours after I came at 4 pm. They said Monday - Friday 10-4. Come in at 12 pm on Friday and they aren't buying. Get your business together you run a resale shop. It would be nice for your patrons to have even a smidge of reliability or consistency. read more

I'm never going to Plato's Closet again! Not only did they not take any of my things, (which were name brand and in good condition) but they didn't even call me to tell me they finished looking through them. They had me waiting over an hour until I decided to just go up and ask. The girl at the counter just says "Oh yea you're stuff is ready." Gee thanks for having me wait for absolutely nothing. The clothes that they sell there are honestly not in the best condition, so why they were picky with my clothes I'll never know. Anyway on to Facebook MarketPlace I go. The store was very clean and the employees were friendly. I went to drop off clothes and expected it to be an hour before they finished and they told me it would be about 15 min, and it was. This definitely made the experience a lot better. read more

Don't ever go here. Camped out for the spring preview and was there before the manager even got there. Even said hi when he went in. Waited 3 1/2 hours outside in 20 degree weather for falsely advertised shoes. When I went to pay for the shoes that they advertised as real Jordan brand,I mentioned they were counterfeit but was still interested in paying. Still, they refused to sell them to me, knowing full well I waited out in the cold for several hours for those exact shoes. Plato's Closet Indy East just lost a well paying customer. They obviously don't have the proper management or staff to be buying and selling expensive shoes. You guys fucking suck. read more

Not impressed with this store. Their overall selection and sizes are always pretty bleak (at least as far as men's clothing is concerned). I also went to sell a decently large handful of clothes there recently after going through their website to make sure I had what they might possibly want. The clothes I brought them were all in good condition-- no tears, no scratches, no stains, and all name brand clothing. First, they told me that they were done buying clothes for the evening (even though the store still had a couple of hours left until they actually closed) and that if I wanted to sell them I would have to leave them there & would have to come back in the afternoon next day to receive the cash for my clothes. At this point I'm a little irked because I really needed the cash that evening, but proceeded with their electronic process, which forces you to put in a lot of unneeded personal information, I might add. So this morning I get a text from Plato's automated system saying, "Your buy was completed by such-and-so employee, and is ready to be picked up." I thought, "Oh, great! Well at least they bought some of my clothes and I'll be able to pick up my cash today." Totally misleading text message. I go into the store today and am informed that they actually won't be buying any of my clothes basically because they're "out of date"?? I bought those clothes maybe 5 or 6 years ago...they aren't from the 70's or something and could easily be worn today without the person being made fun of. & this is coming from a place that says Aeropostale is one of their favorite brands to buy (who went bankrupt recently, mind you, because no one likes their out of date crap and quit going there). Employees at this location stand around doing a lot of talking. I rushed in due to the BIG advertisement they had on the radio. That grab bag was a crock of you know. You would be lucky to fit a shirt in the bag. The store is much nicer and roomier than the previous location though. read more
