Warning!!! Do not patronize the services of @willbraid4food (Instagram profile) aka Pumkin. She braids here. She is extremely unprofessional. My daughter had an appointment to get her hair braided yesterday. This appointment was scheduled well in advance. In fact Pumkin (@willbraid4food) requires a deposit in order to make a reservation. Well when my daughter showed up for her appointment Pumkin (@willbraid4food) was a no call/no show. She didn't call ahead to inform us of her absence, didn't not answer the phone (even after the owner of the shop, who was nice and felt really bad, attempted to call her), and has yet to reach out and apologize for the inconvenience. Talk about unprofessional, classless, and absent of integrity! She finally refunded the deposit, but again has not reached out or answered her phone. This was a complete waste of time and energy that could have been allocated elsewhere. So do not patronize the services of Pumkin (@willbraid4food)! You have been forewarned. Recently moved to the area, and have been looking for a barber for the past 4 months. 1.Called the barbershop and they answered the phone with the name of the business 2. Walked in and was immediately greeted by a man named Tyvon. 3. Tyvon turns out to be my barber, he was professional, friendly, and courteous throughout the whole experience. 4. Got cut by Jovan (left side back of the shop) and I didn't notice until after I left because he didn't show me he just said "your finished" after having me sit down for a total of 10 minutes. Hella tense environment to honestly had me thinking they are being forced to be barbers and they hate it. I asked for a trim on top and a high fade. didn't do even give me a trim he just faded the sides.... how are you not going to complete the cut and the fade is uneven between both sides. 25$ down the drain read more

I made some calls to gather references for a local barber shop. There are a few in the area I'd consider trying out, but decided to kept things connected, and went w/Platinum Trendz. I called the shop prior to my visit to see what their schedule was like, and if they accepted walk-ins. I spoke w/Joven who's the owner and also the barber I was referred to. Very accommodating and professional. After a short wait, I hopped in the chair and requested a clean taper, w/a low bald fade, clean up along the sides, w/a line and a shave. I explained, I wanted to grow my hair for the fall season, so I can brush it back. The haircut itself only took 20-25 mins, but came out clean. I'd definitely come back for a cut and put it on the rotation list. read more

I found Javon by accident when a friend came to visit from out of state and needed a pretty specific undercut for a scavenger hunt she was participating in. He did such a fine job on her hair that I asked him to fix the damage that the previous barber had done to my hair. He gave me a taper and a little bit of sass on the top and I absolutely love it. I've been going to Joe for more than 10 years, and There aren't many better people out there than Joe, not just as a barber, but as a person. His new shop is a result from all his work over the years. It's inexpensive, and combines a modern feel along with everything you look for in a traditional barber shop. Come here for hot towel service, free drinks, and a family environment if you want to bring your kids to hang out.
