Our 14 year old boy was starting to look like a St. Bernard and we figured it was time to get him to a barber shop that was local. His curly hair grows rather quickly and we were hoping that he'd find some pride in his appearance and maybe learn a thing or two about grooming. Luckily Scott gave him a quick lesson about pride in appearance, shampoo and conditioner, and proceeded to clean up his look. By the time he was finished, gone was our St. Bernard and now we have a young man who wasn't hiding behind his hair. Started going here for a haircut. I believe for over a decade or so. I like the food places in the area. Originally, the price was reasonable for a haircut. I only have half a head of hair, bald. Now, he raised his Price twice in a year! Was 33 in Aug. a couple of days ago the price was 36!! So, with a tip 40 dollars. WTF, so time to find a new place. Vibe is good. Great service! I highly recommend this barber! Scott is a true expert, he can stick any haircut you want from a military style flattop to a slick back drop fade. Just tell him what you want or just show him a picture and he can do it. Scott is also very patient with figuring out your hair so don't feel pressured if you are still trying to figure it out. Now as for the vibe of this place, it is what you might consider to be more "conservative" and traditional. Scott is a marine and is rightfully proud of this fact and shows huge support for this country and those that have served the USA. With that being said this barber shop has a true "classic barber shop" feel that is actually both practical and authentic and not just a style that he's going for. Moved here a couple of years ago and have been struggling to find a good Barber. Made the mistake of going to Great Clips.... the place should be called "Emotionally Scarring Clips". After many therapy sessions, I finally found the courage to try a new place, which was Scott's. This is the place I've been looking for. A totally unsuspecting hole in the wall packed with amazing customer service and conversation. Scott is a super cool dude who knows his stuff. All I had to do was show him a pic of what I wanted, and he made it happen. I almost didn't want to write a review for this joint because I don't want the secret to get out. Scott's is always great. A classic barbershop with a classy dude! Take my 2 year old and 17 year old and they both enjoy the candy!

I really like this place. I tell Scott what I want, and that's what I get. The price for a haircut at this point is $19, but that's usually around what you pay unless you go to some generic haircut place and get your hair just butchered. Scott does good fades and cares about his work. The conversation at the barbershop is usually interesting and he has a couple TVs on for entertainment. Plus, Scott's a former US Marine, so I gotta support this guy!!! read more

This is the old school barber shop. I dig it. Not too many small barber shops around that you can sit and read the paper and BS with the people. Its a very small shop (2 chairs) and only one barber that I've met (Scott). I like this place. read more

Scott is the best! My husband had been going to a barber in Vallejo since he was a teen, and when he retired, was so glad he found Scott. Scott does a great job, very personable. He also cuts both of my sons hair, and one of them is 2! Great with kids, very patient, and definitely works fast to get the job done. Also doesn't seem bothered when he is constantly fidgeting or pulling the drape off. Plus he has special treats for the kids after the haircut, which my 2 year only ALWAYS remembers to ask for. Parking across street in lot is free, not much parking on street. A little pricey ($15) for a crew cut but Scott is the only barber there and he's been cutting hair for over 30 years (since his teenage years). He has a lot of regulars that obviously like him as a person. read more

Scott does give good haircuts, but he is very slow, takes a lot of breaks, and it can seem like a long wait, even if he is just starting one haircut before you. The banter is usually fine, with talk about exercise, diet, sports, etc. But I was very uncomfortable recently when his conversation with the patron before me, with two more guys in the waiting area, devolved into Scott's extremely disrespectful and misogynistic (using the c-word) rant against a female presidential candidate. I walked out. I realize that a barbershop should be a place guys can let their hair down, literally, but this seemed over the top. So, if you want an old time barbershop, don't mind long waits, and are not offended by this type of conversation, it would be fine. read more
