As for value, Monza has technicians with over 25+ years of experience. They use high-quality products (LiquiMoly), and at the time of writing, they are usually ~$80/hr cheaper than certain dealerships. Vince does an amazing job not only owning the shop but also running it/operating it. He is never afraid to get his hands dirty. Monza has a vast network of contacts in the industry, and if you need a specific size of new tires - "he's got a guy," you scraped/nicked a rim - "he's got a guy" you need a new stereo or radar detector- "he's got a guy." First of all, the welcome I received at the counter was so first-class from Josh, the manager. He celebrated my loyalty and even gave me recommendations. He personally concierge me to the Aisle where I could pick any car. I was also surprised to learn that the chain laws in California are illegal here in Alberta! The check-out was easy and painless, and I was glad I picked a BMW X2 out of many choices. The car drove through the snow like a champ. The returning staff was when more magical than I could imagine, the fellow guided me to a nice parking spot and took measurements of the tire, checked me in, and asked about my experience with the car, the places I visited, and with their service. The supervisor on site helped out with my billing inquiries and then offered me a distance discount which was a lot. She told me she was doing her job; I was floored. You can imagine, I spent less than $100 for an average 4-day rental, which is an impossible deal and unavailable in California, if you know what I mean. I felt so appreciated not just for the deals but that the whole experience restored my fate with the service industry again, even during these days of covid. The worst rental car experience I have ever had…read more We were scheduled to pick up two standard SUVs at 6pm after we arrived from our flight. Our flight was slightly delayed and so we did not end up making it over to the rental car counter until about 7pm. Once we made it to the counter, the lady estimated that it would be a twenty minute wait. We waited about 40 minutes and then went up and spoke to her because we started to talk to the people around us who were saying they had also been waiting over an hour on a car. When we talked to the lady at the desk she told us that someone had to go over to the other location to pick up our cars and that they were on the way. Another twenty minutes go by and we wait. We ask her again and she then says that she is unsure if we will be able to get our size of car that we reserved. She asks if we can accept another car. Unfortunately, even with the standard SUVs, it will be a tight squeeze, so we cannot switch. Also, she told us previously that the car was on the way? So this must have been a lie. In addition to the initial lie she told us that it would be 20 minutes until our car arrived (since everyone around us waited at least an hour and a half). Another 25 minutes go by. By this point, everyone in our group is cursing Enterprise's name and saying we will never rent from them again. We ask to talk to a manager. And magic! Somehow, five minutes later, when we go back to the back, the manager has gotten our cars ready and is waving our keys because he knows that he was about to deal with some very angry customers. I would also like to note that when we went to the back, there was a big tray of sushi and about 5 people sitting around, not working. Very confusing because the manager, when explaining why things took so long, told us that they were low staffed. But it just looks like the staff were too busy eating sushi to do their jobs, and the manager was fine with us waiting an hour and a half while he had plenty of staff sitting around. Avoid this location at all costs.

I have been a 20 year customer of Valentine Volvo. The prior experiences have always been positive…read more On December 30, I booked a service appointment for my 2013 XC 60. This car is our son's car and he currently resides in Regina. I phoned and spoke to an advisor and provided the following details for the service: 1. front grille needs to be replaced as a grouse was hit while driving; 2. squeak in the front end- ; and, 3. regular service for 160,000 km. At 0700 hours we dropped the vehicle off at Valentine Volvo as we were expecting at lot of work to be completed. There was only one car in the bay when we arrived. We told them we did not need it for the day. At ~ 1330 hours - almost 7 hours later we had heard nothing from Volvo on any results of their review. I phoned to receive an update. This is an unusual step as my experience was that Valentine Volvo typically phones to let you know their progress. When I phoned and spoke to my service advisor, Raymond, I was told that they had not started on the car yet. I was dumbfounded. When I pointed out the time we had dropped it off, I was told by Raymond that they had 22 cars to be seen that day and a skeleton staff of 3 working. I told Raymond it was not my issue- the customer- that Valentine Volvo had elected to have a skeleton staff working on this day. Approximately an hour later Raymond phoned back. He advised us ( my husband and me) that the front upper grille assembly would have to be replaced, the radar clips and all would have to be recalibrated. They understandably did not have this part in stock. We understood. Raymond then continued that the noise in the front end was a worn out and noisy front strut and that a coil spring (rear) was cracked and broken. Again the parts were not available; and again we understood. Finally based on the maintenance program, Raymond told us at 2:30 in the afternoon that there was a serpentine belt that needed to be replaced. This was in stock, but we were told it would take four hours. Raymond advised that they would be closing at 1600 hours and they would not be able to replace this due to the limited time available. This was not understandable to us. Valentine Volvo had the car for ~ 11 hours. During this time they diagnosed the needed repairs from the bird strike on the radar, completed an oil change, replaced a marker bulb on the right side of the car and performed the vehicle inspection for 160,000 km. For this we were charged $468. We are extremely dissatisfied with the service we received at Valentine Volvo. We understand that major parts needed to be ordered and accept that; however, what we take issue with is the replacement of the serpentine belt which could have and should have been done- particularly as we were told by Raymond that it would only take 4 hours. What is notable about Valentine's shortcoming is that Raymond advised us that the serpentine belt replacement was significantly overdue based on the vehicles mileage, which was actually 168112. All major service on this vehicle has been performed exclusively by Valentine Volvo. Why didn't they flag this belt replacement when we booked the appointment or at the very least, when the car was dropped off for service? Please recall they had the car for the entire day and knew at the time of booking that the car was not frequently in Calgary. I am very concerned that when the car is in service for 10 hours, and we find out that they did not have enough staff on- we should have been contacted before 9 hours to advise us of what they had found. I asked that Theresa the Service Manager call me as I was very dissatisfied. I did speak to Theresa Manager of Service on Thursday January 5th. She was sympathetic and suggested that if the serpentine belt broke, Valentine would pay for towing. It was - 25 C when we discussed this option. It would mean that we would be stranded on the side of the road waiting for a tow. She also suggested that we could take the car to Saskatoon to get service. An interesting strategy to retain customer loyalty. have been a 20 year customer of Valentine Volvo. The prior experiences have always been positive.
