A month later, having received no communication - I followed up and 'Janet' showed up. Dr Ali and her dental assistant team her team were excellent, thorough and professional in their interactions. At the beginning of the first meeting it was explained that Invisalign wasn't covered by insurance, which included a whitening treatment as part of the procedure. Oddly, no cleaning nor annual examination were offered during the 18 month treatment. It wasn't until that final appointment and after cleaning, X-rays etc., was I told the whitening wasn't part of the plan I'd paid in advance for. Be aware that while quality of care is good, the office management and billing team are uncommunicative, illusive, inconsistent and we caught them attempting to push claims through our insurance company (according to our insurance) despite telling us they don't take that insurance and asked us to pay in full up front. On multiple occasions appointments were moved or adjusted by the office, all of which were during regular working hours for most people... I've personally no issue with that as a freelancer and understanding clients but it might be inconvenient for others.

Instead of taking ownership, she suggested I may have made a mistake, which was both incorrect and inappropriate. There was no effort to accommodate the situation or correct it. When I asked to speak with Dr. Odinsky, she refused and repeatedly spoke over me until I had to ask her to stop and listen. This isn't about a scheduling error, those happen. It's about how it was handled. There was no accountability, no attempt to resolve the issue, and no basic level of professionalism. This would not have happened under Dr. Singer's ownership. He examined a tooth that was previously diagnosed by another practice as an abscess in a tooth that was crowned and had a root canal in previously. He more than likely saved my tooth by detecting the source of my discomfort. It was an adjacent tooth, which had an Enamel-Dentine fracture in it. Dr. Osdinsky will follow-up with additional diagnostic tools to rule out missing anything on the likely previously misdiagnosed root canal tooth, which is the prudent thing to do, but has in the meantime treated the fractured tooth with Hydroxyapetite and Ozone treatment, to help with the tooth remineralization and fight back any potential anaerobic infection with minimal disturbance to the health of my oral biome. Knowing what I know now about oral health and its implications and impact on very serious general ailments elsewhere in the body, having a knowledgeable dentist who doesn't prescribe broad-spectrum antibiotics willy-nilly but instead treats things responsibly.
