There are detailed directions on their website and signs along the road, but it is pretty secluded and we still took a wrong turn. I'm not sure how accessible it would be in the winter without a 4x4. When we arrived at the meadery, we were offered samples of the various available meads. They were all fresh and very delicious, and we bought several bottles to bring camping with us (although they are also available at various liquor stores in Calgary). We then took a tour, which was very laid back and informative, and was given by the owner who brews the mead. We were shown the equipment, and the entire process was very well explained with many anectodes. At this time, there is no food served at the meadery. I highly recommend a visit!

Pretty much all 5 star reviews on Google…read more My own experience with Lori has been great and I have nothing but good things to say about Village Craft Winemaker and the Quality of the product. I asked Lori about Frank M - the only negative review she has on all the platforms I've checked... it turns out he never even made wine in Lori's store! He is apparently a friend of a former, disgruntled employee... Apparently Google removed the review when Lori disputed it on their platform, but not sure why Yelp won't take it down? Regardless, search other platforms and see the real reviews. Everyone, except for Mr. Frank, seems to be pretty happy!

I am absolutely disappointed and very disheartened to say that Lori Dahlberg, the owner and manager…read moreof Village Craft Winemaker, has left me with an awful taste in my mouth. While Lori Dahlberg was friendly when I first met her, to start my first batch of beer a few months ago, she has personally offended me over time, more than once, and has been unapologetic for her behaviours, actions, and language; and fixed in her position on this matter. Unfortunately now, after reading the email messages Lori Dahlberg sent me yesterday, it has become clear that communication has broken down completely, and that I have exhausted all options and have no choice but to leave my honest review with hopes that Lori decides to resolve this matter promptly and fairly. When that happens, I will revise my review accordingly.

But you get a much better selection on wine, liquor and beer. Also, if you ask them to do gift wrapping, there is a guy there who does a really amazing job. Perfect for either Christmas when you're frazzled and have no time to wrap presents or if you just hate wrapping presents in general. A good wine store that has a great selection. Definitely worth a visit!

I started with the beef tartare which was great, nice beef with great flavors. The cauliflower was also excellent though I would have preferred they served it with my main rather than a standalone course. I also really enjoyed the duck, not at all gamey and a very nice size portion. I did feel the wit between courses was a little long, particularly as they weren't very busy, but I wasn't in a rush. A quite enjoyable meal.
