I went to Dr Spittler after seeing a friends Amazing Tummy Tuck results. I had been on the fence and told by another plastic surgeon that he wouldn't do it because of where I carry weight. During my consultation Dr Spittler was very professional, informative and honest. He's very easy to talk to and mentioned that he enjoys doing surgery. I scheduled my surgery and while waiting I joined some social media groups, they were also informative. I know every case can be different but him and his team will do all they can to make your surgery experience the best! I personally had no complications. I recently came to Plastic Surgery Specialists to have repair on my daughter 's earlobe . She is six years old . I called at least over a dozen offices to see if they provide this service but this was the only office I found . She had a earring that ended up pulling down & ripped her ear . We went to the office and they repaired her earlobe by sewing it together . We also scheduled a follow up after 5 weeks in which she had her lobe re-pierced. The staff did a great job . At my consult I was given plenty of time to allow myself and the Dr to discuss in detail what the pre op, surgery, and post op would entail. The doctors have a really poor understanding of technique and customer service. Becareful getting over sold on products and services by the way they combine offers. During my consultation & prior to the surgery, the staff and Dr. Buhrer were great. However, it seemed as if once they got me in there to have the surgery, they stopped caring. I had a breast reduction about 2 weeks ago and on my one week post-op, I began to have separation from my nipple and where it was supposed to be attached to. I also saw signs of pus and infection. I know what an infection looks like!! I called the on call service that this practice provides and the on call Doctor preceded to tell me that he was on a bike ride and he would get back to me when he could-- how important I felt! On my 2 week post-op, I went back to see Dr. Buhrer. The gauze pads stuck to my incision and to my nipples, and when Buhrer began to check them, I told him it was hurting, he took them off and said "it isn't hurting me". His nurse gave my grandmother and I a look of embarrassment. It wasn't funny. I was in pain. He said everything was fine and to come back in a week. He seemed rushed and didn't have much to say. Today, 3 days later, I noticed more pus and severe pain. I called the on call service at 4 am because I couldn't sleep -- it was so unbearable. The on-call Doctor was rude, acted like he didn't have time to answer my questions, and told me to hold off and call the office at 9. I decided not to as I live an hour away and didn't want to drive for him to tell me it was "fine". Side note... If you don't want to be interrupted on nights and weekends, don't provide an on-call service... I went to another plastic surgeon for a second opinion. Sure enough, severe infection in both nipples with early signs of necrosis. The practice I went to was also very shocked that I was never put on an antibiotic. All in all, the girls at Plastic Surgery Specialists were very sweet and caring, the Doctors on the other hand seemed to have cared less. I will not be going back. I feel as if they don't care about the well-being of their patients. It seems to me as if they don't take their jobs very seriously. I am very, very disappointed. read more

Dr Lowe and his staff are excellent! My surgery and post surgery healing went very smoothy. Post surgery, I was up and about in 3 days, feeling ready for light exercise. I love my results and plan to go back for another procedure. Costs, expertise, friendliness, time with patient, consultation, overall professions were all 5 star. Their facilities are nice too. Two of my impressed friends are planning their consults. I am hard to please, so I am just happy to be so happy for once. Cosmetic surgery was scaring for me, but I did my research - including office visits with different doctors for their opinion. I knew Dr Lowe was the doctor for my procedure based on his credentials and our initital consultation. PSS send me a hand delivered pre-surgery package with meds and spa certificate, and I was ready to move ahead. Last, the staff are even keeled "cool", knowledgeable, medical professionals. My experience with Dr. Spittler was top notch. I am 40 years old and lived with worry over getting breast cancer as I have lost a mother and grandmother to the disease. Therefore, I had a prophylactic mastectomy and reconstruction and he was supportive and amazing through it all. Having 3 children at home, I was scared out of my mind and wanted to ensure that I was making the best decision. He helped guide me through the entire process and started each visit with a hug and ended each visit with a hug. I was referred to PSS by my dermatologist following Moh's surgery to remove skin cancer from my face that left a sizeable hole in the side of my nose. The plastic surgery went well and Dr. Buhrer was nothing but professional. He explained in great detail what he was going to do to repair my nose which I much appreciated, and his lighthearted bedside manner and keen sense of humor put me at ease. My recovery went well, as predicted by Dr. Buhrer, with no complications. When I returned for a follow-up visit 8 weeks after the surgery, I was told I could have a "revision" done to remove the excess fatty tissue that had to be put in the cancer spot during the surgery to facilitate healing and re-growth of blood vessels and which consequently was creating a slight, round bulge in the skin on the side of my nose. The "revision" would allow the skin to lay flat and flush with the rest of my face and not bulge anymore. I was told I could come back at any time in the future to have this "revision" done. I chose to wait till after the Christmas holidays to return and further discuss with Dr. Buhrer the "revision" procedure. When I made my 2016 appt. while checking out in Sept., I specifically asked what the cost would be to have the revision done. I was told with absolute certainty by the desk clerk that because it was a "revision" of the original surgery, the charge for the original surgery INCLUDED the cost of a revision, so it would cost me absolutely NOTHING! "How wonderful!", I thought, and it made perfect sense that a subsequent procedure to fine-tune the area that couldn't be done until the "skin flap" successfully attached to the underlying tissues and healed successfully would be part of the "total package" of service being provided with no additional charge -- a "no-brainer" in my mind. Well, nothing could be farther from the truth! That response was merely a ploy to get me to come back and put more money in their pockets. When I returned in February and met with Dr. Buhrer I told him I had decided to have the revision done and I asked him for confirmation that there would be no additional cost for the revision. His response was a vague one about how the revision would be "coded a certain way" when the insurance claim is filed but most times the ins. co. recognizes it as part of the first procedure, so yeah, it "shouldn't" cost you anything. That was my first clue that I had been grossly misinformed by the admin. staff back in September. When I made the appt. for the revision on the way out, I asked again -- will this cost me anything? This time I was told "well, it depends on your insurance company but it shouldn't end up costing you anything." I asked that they have their billing clerk call me and confirm the financial details for the procedure. After an entire week went by and no one called, I called them and was told "you will be charged for the doctor's time and use of the surgical suite and you haven't met your 2016 deductible so it will cost you $554 out of pocket for the revision." With that very disappointing and infuriating news I canceled the appt. for the revision. I should not have to pay for them to "finish the job" properly. In a nutshell, the doctors' surgical skills are topnotch but I'm not confident that they have their patients' best interests foremost in their minds -- it appears to me that profit is the true driving force of the practice and they'll say whatever it takes to get you to keep coming back for more costly procedures. The admin. staff is in dire need of training and education about how to provide accurate answers to patients' questions regarding fees, insurance claims, and out-of-pocket costs for scheduled procedures. BUYER BEWARE -- before you let them cut into you, be sure you have all the billing details IN WRITING well in advance of your procedure, or you just might be presented with a large bill that you weren't expecting!!! read more

I have had great experiences with the physicians and nurses, they are professional and knowledgable. I have had several encounters with the receptionist in the medi spa that were not good, not professional, rude and a bit stuck up. Thankfully the staff in a whole and docs are awesome there but would be nice if they had a better up front representation. read more
