( I did a review of Dr. Buonassisi ethics separately ) Upon entering the office I was greeted by smiles from the gorgeous ladies at the reception desk. One of them checked my schedule on her computer. Then I was asked to sit at the lounge area. I then heard her make a call to inform that I have arrived. A few minutes later, someone came to get me. Her name is Katie. She led me to a room where she took pictures of my profile from several angles. Katie was very clear in her instructions which made the process smooth and quick. After taking my pictures she led me back to the lounge area where I waited for 2 minutes before I finally meet Dr. Buonassisi for my consult. After my consult, Katie came and talked to me about the solution given by Dr. Buonassisi so I can schedule for another consult. I thought that both the doctor and staff know what they're doing and they do communicate with each other. I appreciate their honesty. They will tell you if a procedure is right for you or not. This made me feel that they sincerely care and not just after my money. Will I recommend 8 West to friends and family? Definitely!

He drew me a quick sketch, that I wish I had paid more attention to, or brought someone with me for the consultation. After he talked about my nose he said that I should consider a chin implant as well, to make my face look more preportioned. I was really taken back by that. Post op, I noticed a gouge, about a 1 cm indentation, at the very top of my nose, so I asked him about it, and he was very dismissive. He was talking with his medical student, like they had no idea what I was talking about. It took me about 5 years before I could put any type of weight over the bridge of my nose, so I had to buy new glasses. Fortunately, I found a pair with a very light Titanium frame. I would not recommend Dr. Younger. He has a very poor bedside manner, and his skill as a surgeon is questionable. Either that or he let a medical student work on me, without proper guidance, and maybe the medical student slipped. Either way, he did not examine my nose, he just sat behind his desk; and he wasn't honest about it.

I placed an online order and called to see when it would be ready for pick up. Instead of being helpful, which I assume she's being paid to do, the girl literally responded, "I wouldn't know since you called the clinic and not the store." I said, "Fine, then which number should I be calling then?" I kid you not, she replied, "Well, they are in a meeting, so just give me your number and I'll pass them the message." I am not exactly sure why she felt the need to make a big fuss about me calling the clinic and not the store, considering it's the same location. I am pretty sure if she can take my message, she could've given a more useful answer to my original question. And if there's really a distinction between the store and the clinic, I would also suggest that they update their Google business listing to make that distinction. This reminds me of why I never bothered coming back here after my experience 3 years ago. I bought a CE Ferulic from this store, and whatever bottle I got has clearly been sitting the shelf for a LONG time (considering the deep orange-y color thats different from any of the 30-40 bottles I've ever opened). I've used enough of Skinceutica's products to know what looks right and what doesn't. And for the sassy girl who answered the phone, im sorry that it's such an inconvenience for you to be paid to deal with customer inquiries. And I also apologize to tell you this, but to quote Patsy from Ab Fab, "You work at a STORE, darling."

I had nothing but a positive experience with Dr. Shehla Ebrahim and her team at AfterGlow! I would…read morelike to share my story and give you a little background information about myself to give you a picture of what my experience has been like. I had a previous rhinoplasty done by another cosmetic surgeon(whose name I will keep private) around four years ago. I was very unhappy with the results as I had callous formation on the side of my nose, that kept growing after each unsuccessful rasping, just my luck! My confidence became worse than it was even before my surgery. I was just not happy with the way my nose looked, it was uneven and bumpy. I decided to research and see if I could find someone local who was experienced with fillers- and Dr. Shehla Ebrahim came up in my google searches- one of her clinics is in North Vancouver(Afterglow) and I discovered after she also has a clinic in West Vancouver (Ambleside Dermedics). At first when I saw Dr. Shehla Ebrahim's picture on google I sensed that she was a warm, kind and compassionate woman (I am very intuitive). My intuitions were correct- It meant a lot to me that Dr. Ebrahim decided to give me a phone call before my appointment to discuss my previous surgery that I had and my expectations going forward . I found that in itself was thoughtful and that she really cared about her patients. When I came in to see Dr. Shehla Ebrahim I was greeted by her staff, they were all very kind, welcoming and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Ebrahim's practices in using fillers are with the utmost care, she is knowledgable with the best fillers to use and the technique was very safe. Actually I was impressed by her knowledge as my previous surgeon didn't use a Cannula when inserting my filler, and Dr. Ebrahim did, which is a safer method. The staff were kind enough to hold my hand as I was a bit nervous when having the injection, but overall the pain was minimal and my results are absolutely fantastic! A Post op care instruction sheet was given to me which I found very helpful. I went in to see Dr. Ebrahim today for a little touch up (that is expected after the first time you have a filler) and I have been grinning from ear to ear all day because I am so pleased how my nose looks! I have regained my confidence and Dr. Shehla Ebrahim has been my saviour in all of this. I would highly recommend anyone to Dr. Shehla Ebrahim!!she is skilled, very experienced and has a good eye for perfection, the work she does is exceptional and I am so grateful to have met her. I will be going back to her and only her for future cosmetic work! Thank you Dr. Shehla Ebrahim, you are a blessing!!

Came here with my girlfriend to see Dr Shehia Ebrahim, who has been her family doctor for over 15…read moreyears. She has now shifted her focus more on medical aesthetics telling me it was "far more lucrative then giving Pap smears" I wanted some facial filler. There was a coupon for 100$ off when you spent 450$ ( min )on Juvederm. I have always wanted to try Juvederm as I have had Radiesse In the past and I saw no results. The office is in North Van, in a retail complex. It doesn't look like Dr office. It does look somewhat spa like, complete with Zen like tunes for atmosphere. There was tea available, as well as some chocolate - we sampled both. My GF went first . She was getting some Botox. When it was my turn, the assistant took me to the back where I was photographed for my "before" pics. When I went to the room, I waited a while, the Dr came in and took a look and I told her what I was wanting to do. She ended up asking me if I was ok with her using a needle beforehand that would break the fibers up. This would help with the treatment she explained. Always eager for adventure, I agreed. I was given some topical pain killer - however when that needle came to break those pesky fibres/chains I really could of used way way more ! This was nothing like Botox ( I actually like the feeling of it being injected ) This was more like dig deep and pop something after a struggle. You could actually hear the tissues break. It was very painful. I'd say a 7.5/10. Yes, this was with the pain killer. This went on awhile and both sides were done, I felt it slightly more uncomfortable then my eyebrow tattooing which wasn't pleasant either. Then she had suggested I do 2 syringes, but at 700$ each - I opted for a single serving , as I was thinking it was going to be around 500$ as per the promo Minus the 100$ discount. I would of been fine if that was the case, but 1400$ plus tax was not what I budgeted for. FYI - syringe contains only 1ml of filler - The application of the filler was a walk in the park, compared to the first part. It was done quickly, but she seemed to really take her time to look and see what went where, she even did a bit on an old pierced eyebrow scar. When it was done, she told me about other things she could do for me, but it felt like a bit of upselling - but not too high pressure. She told me how happy she was to of switched for her general practice to cosmetic/aesthetic . I could tell ! I was then given ice packs to use. There was not an after picture taken, but we were invited to come to an event the following night . It was pushed on us ( "so we will put you down for tomorrow and please, feel free to bring your friends..." ) This just made me feel very uncomfortable, and politely declined. We went to the front to go pay. The receptionist acted quite newish. I asked for an aftercare sheet. But it took quite some time to locate one. The totals for both of us were way more then we expected, and we also did not get our 100$ off discount as per the promo / the reason we went. I looked after on my receipt and I wasn't even given the filler I went in for! I went in for the Juvederm and got some European filler that I had never even heard of ( Fortelis )!! This really pissed me off as I specifically booked for the Juvederm promo. Long story short - my GF did get the 100$ credited back for us each, but she had to call the office at a later time in order for them to look into it. Now as for my results- my face was literally black and blue for nearly a week . It was horrific. ( I took photos, but they are so scary I don't even think I should post them ) Then I couldn't even see any changes at all In my face, still can't actually. For all the pain, the bruising, the money spent, and the high pressure sales tactics, to not get any desired affect really does not make me happy, nor would I ever return or recommend.
