I've always wanted to be a 'plant person'. It's not an easy aspiration unless you come across a place like Planted. Luke, the owner/knower of all things plants, is extremely kind and is so eager to help you find what you're looking for. You can come in with all requests: low maintenance plant, need a plant repotted, etc. I've even come in a few times with pictures on my phone of a plant I believe to be sick and he tells me whats wrong with it. Planted is a non-intimidating and welcoming place for you to get a housewarming/hostess gift or something special for yourself and your home. If I could give this place 10 stars I would in a heartbeat. Luke was super accommodating in helping me choose a succulent for a planter I bought as well as a few succulents as gift for a friend. He thoroughly explained the watering needs for each and even went as far as to write it down for me. When we had issues with the plastic container fitting into my planter, he offered to take my name and number and call me if one in the right size ever came in. He then offered to repot my plant should I ever need to and graciously carried my purchases out to my car. Hands down the best customer service ever! I picked up a gorgeous Monstera plant in a 6" pot from these guys the other day. I had looked at other monsteras from local plant shops and theirs' was a much better deal and quality. This place is, as they say, "adorbs". The plant selection is well curated, not too much not too little. They have a nice selection of planters, including some handmade right there on site in natural woods. They offer sound knowledge and give good advice to new owners rather than simply reading off a label. Helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. I like that! Luke is an inspired guy who puts a lot into his craft. Being an aspiring green thumb, it is nice to soak up all of the knowledge he has and his selection of plants, planters and custom made pieces which are also awesome. We purchased a hanging planter and Philodendron and they are both doing great. Sure you can go to home depot and get it much cheaper but chances are your plants will not fair very well and your Chinese made planter will show its price tag. These items are handmade by someone who is invested in their craft and the local community. Win/win. read more

This was the only place I could find closed-lid (tropical) terrarium plants in December. They had a decent selection of plants, even though it was mostly succulents. They offered to order me a few other species I was looking for within a matter of weeks. At under $5 each the plants were in better condition and cheaper than anything else I could find. This shop is the best. Luke the owner is very knowledgeable and is always willing to give you advice on all your house plants. His summer hanging flower baskets are beautiful. I came here looking for some house plants and Luke spent almost an hour with me explaining the different types of plants, how much light they needed, how much water, etc. He really knows his stuff. I LOVE this place! I am not a big plant person but the owner Luke makes it fun and interesting to explore and learn about new plants. It is VERY REASONABLY PRICED for a smaller sized store, though it has some handmade higher priced items that are amazing as well. I want to emphasize how unique and artistic some of the plant holders are, and the entire store is expertly designed by Luke who has an amazing eye for what planters go with what plants. Luke and his brother have such passion for what they do! This really comes across when you chat with them--I loved seeing photos of their projects, and time lapses of the prayer plant. I was really disappointed by the service I received here. I live in the area and have walked by multiple times while out and about. Recently moved into a new place and was SO excited to get a succulent terrarium from here. I went in one evening and the guy working (maybe the owner? not sure) was with a woman helping her with some air plants. He acknowledged my boyfriend and me as we came in, and then ignored us. He spoke with this girl for 10 minutes, after which point they wrapped up the transaction. I thought he'd finally be able to help answer my questions and give me some guidance, but he followed her outside where they spoke for nearly another 10 minutes. When he came back in, he didn't say a word; no offer to help or answer any questions, I was all but ignored. The guy has great taste and has curated/created some beautiful things, but it was a really terrible feeling to spend over 20 minutes in a store unassisted, merely because there was a PYT doing some shopping who got all the attention. read more

Luke was great!!! Super dooper helpful. The shop has a really awesome and wide selection in terms of size and species. He talked to me about lighting in my apartment and then gave me specific plant recommendations. Once I picked the plants he showed me several different potting options that would be appropriate for drainage. He even fashioned me a hanging basket out of some burlap containers he made that was both very inexpensive and looks great! Luke even helped me bring the plants out to my car! It seems like a great place to get one of a kind gifts for christmas and the like.... for example, Luke makes really nice medium sized wood work designs out of old skateboard decks, and they are also one of very few people to carry homemade wooden boxes made by a gentlemen with timber from his personal property. They were beautiful! The prices were great and the selection of potting and plants was significantly better than what I have seen at several larger scale nurseries. Highly recommended and I can't wait for an excuse to go back. read more
