Wow, this is definitely a plant person's paradise!! The inside shop is fairly small but packed full of cute pots, garden goodies, gift ideas, plants and so much more! When you go outside it's rows of greenhouses with flowers, plants and grasses. And more pots. I liked how things were divided and shade plants were in their own house. I didn't go into every one. It was very hot inside if you're trying to look at everything. Prices ranged and seemed reasonable for certain items. The staff asked if we needed any help. Love it here! Their staff is so sweet and helpful. I haven't had the best of luck with plants in the past, but the monstera I purchased from here has held up so well. All of their plants looked incredibly healthy and their staff will answer any questions you have for them. They also sell really cute pots and everything else you'll need for your plant. Every year I drive an hour and a half to get my spring plants. Very knowledgeable staff, and signs throughout giving helpful advice (ex: "please protect me if temps are 40 degrees or below"). Great variety and enormous selection at fair prices. read more

I finally popped in the other day after hearing that they had a very large plant selection here. The first room is very expensive pots and some random home decor. There are a few doors and I guess they are how you enter the different greenhouses. I didn't bother to go past the first. The staff was exceptionally rude to another customer and after hearing that, I didn't even care to shop. The prices were high, staff rude and odd and unclear to navigate. After sharing that review, I've found that the owner spends her time on Facebook being extremely racist. I'm glad I didn't spend a penny here and I'll encourage others to skip this place! read more

Love this place! So unassuming from the outside. I accidentally stopped at here one day and on a whim decided to go in. So glad I did! From the front the store looks small, but once you walk through the front store and into the back there are acres of greenhouses! The plants are spectacular, healthy, and well priced. I could spend hours just walking through the gorgeous greenhouses full of plants. The staff is wonderful and friendly as well. Found this cute plant place and I was in heaven. For this trip I went to look at indoor plants but I will be back to look at outdoor plants when the weather gets warmer. The prices are amazing, for the succulents I bought compared to the prices online they sell them at half the price here. The only critique I have is that all of the plants should be labeled. I have a plant app on my phone to identify plants which worked great for me plus I'm an avid succulent owner, which helped. read more

I try to stop in The Plant Place when I can over the large box stores to support a local business. Typically I have had a great experience, but today was very disappointing. While browsing I noticed 3-4 signs advertising that all hanging baskets were $12.99, so I grabbed two. When checking out, the cashier rang it up as $24.99 each. When I pointed out her mistake, she told me that the sale ended yesterday (mind you, it was 3pm) and she would not honor that price. After charging my card, I noticed that the plants both had $18.99 price tags on them, so not only would she not honor the multiple sale signs, she also over charged me by $12 total. When issuing me a refund the for the $12, I mentioned again that it was disappointing that they were not honoring their multiple posted sale signs, even after overcharging me, but she refused saying that they were just too busy to take down the signs. went in they're looking at hanging basket, found two hanging baskets that I went to the register to purchase the sign clearly said all hanging baskets are 1299. I get to the register and she tells me that that fell ended the day before and they're not that priced they're 1899 and I clearly said there's a sign back there where these are it says all hanging basket for 1299. She said you want them they're 1899 so do you want them or not very rude I will definitely not take my business there and I will definitely spread the word around as I am in the Publix, as far as my career goes in in contact with a lot of local and out of town, people and I will definitely spread the word that is very bad business she should have given them to me for the price that was advertised and then she could've taken the sign down I have , ran businesses in the past and that was a good practice for business. Our pet lizard named Lavender passed away and my daughter was very upset. I called the Plant Place to see if they had a lavender plant to bury her under and they put one aside for us. I hate writing negative reviews for small local businesses but I walked through their greenhouses and got right back in my car. The grounds were muddy and their stock was overpriced compared to other local vendors. If you have the time, I'd consider shopping elsewhere. Their gifts and indoor plant section were extremely overpriced as well. read more

This place is AWESOME! Their plants are healthy and well cared for. Their selection is mind blowing. They have 25plus greenhouses.. Each is full of robust plants. Their gifts/accessory shop is eclectic and so much fun. The gift shop could use better lighting. Coming out of the greenhouses, which are sunny and bright...it is difficult to see all the wonderful treasures. The staff is friendly and helpful. While searching g for Plant Place's hours I came upon some negative reviews. I went to the trouble to make an acct with Yelp just now bc of those comments. PP is a long standing business in Wilmington and to post personal negative comments on the owners astonishes me. And to critique inventory and find rudeness is just too much as well. Long time customers will tell you that PP has been working hard and giving hard for a very long time. The staff are professional and gracious. Personal, knowledgeable help is always waiting. PP provides both small and large (companies) with the healthy abundant plants and extras that have been relied upon for decades. Extensive grounds and wandering paths, healthy indoor and outdoor plants seasonally. Seasonal touches that are always a treat and never ever rudeness. Never. The many years I have been here I've seen their reputation and enjoyed their establishment. On a personal & positive note I know that the business contributes greatly to our community. There may not be fanfare and billboards but many good things transpire in PP and the giving overflows to those around them. So, please hold back with the negatives, save helpful critiques for non pandemic times. The staff will gladly accept your comments and work to help you. I'm sure if it! The Plant Place has been my go-to spot for many years. They grow and sell annual flowers in pots, year-round. Their greenhouses are full of lovely, healthy seasonal flowers for planting in containers or in the ground. The hand carts they provide hold enough to fill my car's trunk! I've found their plants to grow and bloom reliably. The staff are helpful and efficient. They don't carry a huge variety of plants, but what they offer is top notch. read more
