I rolled into Florida hungry, running on fumes, and pulled over at a taqueria that had exactly zero interest in impressing me from the parking lot. Which is, of course, always a good sign. The service was quick. The people were kind. The place was clean, and I say that as someone who has knowingly eaten tacos in questionable places. The menu was unapologetically Mexican, but it wouldn't scare off anyone who's discovering it for the first time. We got carne asada tacos. A pork tamale. A torta Hawaiiana. All of it landed well above the line, but the tamale. That tamale might have been the best I've ever had, and I don't say that lightly. Masa that knew what it was doing. And the salsa bar wasn't an afterthought; it was an invitation to escalate things, and we accepted. Stop by and enjoy the tacos here, you won't regret it.

Taqueria Mi Gent has all the traditional Mexican dishes and did I mention all fresh ingredients? I've been to many taquerias and Mi Gente is one of the great ones. Any taqueria that embraces a fresh salsa bar is where it's at. Several types of salsas with varying heat and flavor levels compliments each dish perfectly. Generous portions and reasonable prices also keep your belly full and won't hurt your wallet. Highly recommend Taqueria Mi Gente. I bought a burrito to catch a flight and was delicious at 30,000 while watching a movie headed home. This is my new spot and heading back to Florida soon. Service was great and very patient in answering questions about the menu or anything else you want to know about their delicious food. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

It was just not good...at all. Nothing about it was appetizing. I also tacked on an order of churros. You get four with a little ramekin of icing.
