They have their act together here! Im 71 years old and they provided such great care. I called to make an appointment and got in the next day. My primary didn't call me back for a week and when they did they couldn't get me in until the following week. Urinalysis and vaginal issues were tested and results were given at my appointment. When I went for the same tests at my primary, it took a week for results. Juliette Andre was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I used to go to PP back in the 70's. On top of finding out they don't accept my insurance, they only accept a certain type of care credit, and they also no longer offer sliding scale fees; a full panel was almost $300. It's a shame that places such as these are supposed to be low-cost and for the community, while also supposedly helping and preaching about the importance of sexual health but the cost advantage for customers disappears and erode the intended purpose. Went for a birth control appointment and the staff is very nice and I was in and out pretty quick.

This is a new and beautiful building that everyone feels safe and good upon entering. Huge improvement from the previous location. It's clean, well organized, updated and plenty of parking too. The front desk staff were courteous, and the nurse was cheerful and friendly. A special shout out to Betsy, who had helped me while I was there for my appointment. She really took the time to listen and care for me with any questions and concerns I had with perimenopause and menopause, etc. She's top-notch for women's health care. I've visited PP multiple times in CA and moving to NV coming to this location was terrible. Front desk staff was uninterested, rude, and unhelpful. They continued being in their phones and talking amongst each other before helping me. I chose not to do my appointment because the professionalism wasn't to standard and the front desk girls handed me my stuff back and didn't say anything. The address on google is incorrect for the location, make sure you call ahead and ask for the correct address. The clinic is very spacious and clean. The staff is really nice and caring. They really do listen to their patients and try to help as much as they can. They do take walk ins in the morning and they'll try to schedule you in throughout the day. I'm currently seeing Miss Kimberly Nolan- For a little back story, Ive been battling my health concerns for over 2 years now. I've been to specialists, gynecologists, endocrinologists, GP etc - my hormones have consistently been very low across all testing. We're talking Menopausal levels. Ms. Nolan was the first Dr. To actually take my symptoms and test results seriously. I was experiencing debilitating hot flashes, crazy insomnia, rapid weight gain, joint pains, migraines. I was miserable. She was the first Dr. to take a step back and see the pattern and offer a solution- Hormone Replacement. She didn't shame me for age, weight, or declining the usual blanket treatment of ?Birth Control. She treated me like a person and the HRT she rx has been a Godsend. I love planned parenthood. They're amazing! And if you're in a pickle, or if you need sexual health check ups/consults/etc. - they're my go to. I believe, they are the best option. My only comment/tip is small, but might be useful to some people: they stop taking walk ins at 3:00 pm. Actually, they prefer if you schedule an appointment. So next time I will, I just wish I would've known before i waited all day before going in, and not being able to get it. I don't think it's strictly appointment only, but it's definitely preferred and for sure only way you're guaranteed an appointment. read more

Knowledgeable staff and great care. Some things offered here are super reasonable -like Plan B and contraceptive pills. Almost all services do cost money, but that is because Nevada has no public support for family planning as is available in CA. They do testing for infections, LGBTQ-friendly care and contraception, of course. I learned so much about the different forms of birth control, with more information and tips than any of my other doctors gave me. The office is small and they are super busy, but once you meet the staff it is worth the wait. They take some insurances and Medicaid, and will work with you to make costs manageable--like schedule different services at a later date if you can't manage all at once. read more

The staff here at PP is knowledgeable, kind, gracious, helpful and overall amazing. PP is crucial to women's health services and excels at making healthcare accessible to all women, regardless of income or financial status. I went in one time when I had no health insurance and my mother was laid off, so I couldn't rely on her insurance either. The staff was extremely helpful in providing me the information I needed, the doctor was incredibly kind and welcoming and my entire visit and contraceptives were 100% free. I could give a 4 Star for the wait time but I feel the overall experience negated the wait. I got an IUD inserted at PP today and the staff and doctor were absolutely amazing! I couldn't be happier with my overall experience, and I'm especially grateful for how easy my doctor made the procedure go. I know I'm complaining about a "free" service- but Planned Parenthood is not free, and is in fact, a bit of a rip-off. It's a shame that Planned Parenthood is advertised as "free" birth control, when it is not. Sadly, in other states (CA, namely), they DO offer free services, however, the Nevada locations do not. To get an initial appointment for birth control, it cost me $170, which included a 15 minute "consultation" and one pack of pills. I needed to change my pill recently, and called to schedule an appointment. I was told it would be free to change my pill, however, after receiving "services" (which was a 5 minute "consultation" and a prescription!) it cost another $40. Furthermore, purchasing birth control from the office is far more expensive than just using a pharmacy- I was charged $28 for a pack of pills there, then got a prescription filled at Wal-Mart for $9- for the SAME PILLS. Other services (such as STD testing) cost upwards of $40, and a pap-smear is over $100. I suppose this is a somewhat affordable alternative if you don't have health insurance, but I really think Planned Parenthood should stop being advertised as a free service or donation only. I have never been asked for what I could afford, nor is it on a sliding scale. I think it's outrageous to pay $170 or even $40 for a "doctor's visit" where they don't even do any examination of your body. All they are doing is writing prescriptions and then charging you for that. Thankfully I have 15 refills for my current pill, so I won't have to go back and pay more outrageous fees. read more

AMAZING STAFF! PLEASE BE AWARE of a few things BEFORE GOING. NEVADA is DIFFERENT then CALIFORNIA! They do NOT offer the free birth control. Even if you are on medicaid there are only some birth control methods covered. Its not planned parenthoods fault so do not take it out on them. It has many factors But you should be prepared before going. I had a bad experience at my OBGYN. I figured I would go to Planned Parenthood because Im from CA and I had used them before I knew I could get i and out and they would give me just what I needed NO HASSLE. I made my appointment with PP over the phone they told me everything would be done the day of no worries I had complete faith. I get there and they tell me this was only a CONSULT appt. and I wouldnt be getting what I wanted. I was really upset because I had already had the bad experience at the OB and NOW THIS. But I explained to them everything that happened at my OBs office and that I really needed to get my birth control today and they totally helped me out BIG TIME. ALL THE STAFF were so HELPFUL AND AMAZING! They really helped me out big time. I will be forever grateful to the staff there. read more

Be sure to ask lots of questions over the phone before you go in. And ask them again at the front desk. Upon arrival I was told that I'd need to wait for my insurance to be checked for coverage before they'd check me in even though I had already submitted my insurance info over the phone a week prior. This may have been brushed off as an over sight or misunderstanding if the woman checking me in hadn't been so cold and passive aggressive. She acted like I should have known that my information given over the phone was worthless and irritated that I had thought my if I had already been checked. Then I sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes past my appointment, despite arriving 15 minutes early, only to go back and be told they didn't even offer the contraceptive I was looking for even after I had already signed paper work for said contraceptive upon check in. The nurse who helped me was very kind and apologetic that the front office did not inform me that my contraceptive was not available. She apologized for wasting my time. I appreciate her, but the front office is extremely rude and inconsiderate especially considering the sensitive line of work they are dealing with. This whole debacle made me miss my next doctor's appointment. read more

I moved to reno a couple of years ago and have been using planned parenthood for birth control because I do not have insurance. I had used planned parenthood in Utah prior, and it was a great experience. This one, not so much. The front desk staff is rude. They make you feel uncomfortable, stupid and as though you are the biggest thorn in their side just for showing up for your appointment. I dread dealing with them every time I come. You will stand awkwardly in the waiting room until they decide to acknowledge you. Not a single smile, or Hello. I pay 3 times here what I did in Utah for my depo injection. There's no sliding fee scale either. I gave two stars because the doctor is nice. If you have to use planned parenthood, then you'll at least get what you need here. It will just cost you and the front staff will make you feel like a degenerate. I'm looking for other options. read more

The office always has a longer wait time, but once you are taken to the back everything is done quickly and efficiently. Confidentially is extremely important and valued at this office. I went here two times, and both times I was "helped" by someone who, what seemed to me, to have zero compassion, empathy, or sympathy for anything that was going on. She was rude, she was making passive aggressive comments to me, it made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome. Employees of Planned Parenthood should be friendly, welcoming, courteous and caring if they want to work in a position like that. Not make ladies feel like crap for having an issue. I cannot believe this place is still in business. I had a biopsy done TEN days ago and still have not received the results. I have called THREE times and each time I've been told that the doctor will return my call within 48hrs but never has! This last time I called I was told that they have my results but they haven't been reviewed yet, and that I have to wait until next week when a different doctor is available to tell me my results, because my doctor is out of the office for the next two weeks. And of course, as always, the receptionist was incredibly rude. I ended up hanging up the phone because I don't believe that I deserve to be spoken to like that, when all I'm trying to do is get my test results. I honestly don't even care about the results at this point, it's not even worth it to have to go back there. read more

So my friend needed a follow up appointment for something she had going on with her and the care has been great up to a certain point. The appointment has been rescheduled 2 times already due to something out of her hands. When the receptionist called to reschedule they told her the closest thing they had was a month out. It's a time sensitive issue and because their staff isn't able to be there she has to suffer the repercussions? Maybe instead of telling her there is nothing they can do, could they maybe please set aside an appointment for her since she has already had to adapt to their unforeseen circumstances? Why should she get put on the back burner for something she had nothing to do with? Why can't the receptionist have some sense of patient care and work with the patient instead of saying there's nothing that can be done? Shouldn't someone rescheduled on outside of their own fault be accommodated? I am a huge supporter of these types of clinics and their physicians but the receptionist staff and the doctors don't seem to care about her needs and the fact that they are the ones that have changed on her twice. I am writing this review because I am having to see her go through stress and serious anxiety because there is no care to put her needs first after she had been canceled on twice. Let's think about how we prioritize and maybe train our reception staff in patient care and sensitivity with these types of issues for women that are already vulnerable enough in this turmoil ridden society. read more

I'll "stand with Planned Parenthood" regardless of the service I receive at an individual location, especially because I know that they are overburdened and underfunded across the nation, but it's important to note the deficiencies of this location. The front desk staff would benefit from some empathy training, not that that's a thing, but the majority of those served are either on public assistance or uninsured, and therefore more likely to feel that they are a burden on the healthcare system, and reluctant to seek care. It takes a strong will to even walk in the door, and ask for the care that is recommended for every woman, regardless of socioeconomic status, by the CDC - so don't tell me that my "insurance won't show up in the system, but that you can pay out of pocket," that "we don't have time to call it in," in that patronizing way. I felt confident that my coverage was active (because I'm still on my parents' plan) so I called Blue Cross to fax a verification letter, but someone more unsure of their benefits might not have come back. There was no problem the second time around and the receptionists made no apology despite clearly recognizing me (sans tears). HOWEVER, when I did see a doctor, Rebecca Barnett, one week and 30 minutes past my appointment time, the experience was overwhelmingly positive. She was maternal and had a good sense of humor, as was the nurse practitioner I first made contact with. If you have the time to wait, don't, come 30 mins late, but it's worth it once you finally get the ear of a clinician. read more
