Do they take 5 year olds and what is the cost?

Hi Tracy! Thank you for asking! PlanetBravo begins with students currently rising into 2nd grade next school year. That is typically a 7 year old. We have made a few exceptions over the years for students rising into 1st grade if their parents feel… Read more

Today they had two special events: 1) meet a mermaid, and 2) party in paradise (Guam dancers). Today was particularly busy with Ronald McDonald House run from 9-11am and free admission for those who participated. Love that Kidspace has themed events to keep families coming! Lots of beautiful themed decorations in the front entrance and right as you walk through. We went straight to the reading area to get in line for meet the mermaid. We waited about 15 minutes. The mermaid was very friendly and played the part well. There were lots of Kidspace photographers. Next we went to the 1:30pm "party in paradise" performance at the outdoor amphitheater. My girls' (almost 5 & 7yo) favorite is the craft room. Today's activity was still the paper butterfly cutouts (we came on 3/30). They could spend the whole visit in the craft room! Los Trompos is also another favorite! Other favorites we didn't get to today: muddy boots farm, blue ocean area, arts/crafts up at the top of the hill, tricycles, climbing structures (2 indoor, 1 outdoor). My youngest really wanted to do the pressurized water bottle experiment. It wasn't working properly today, but a little boy showed us the trick. Tip: press low, high, AND bottom row buttons all at the same time. Watch the stick rise, the water fill up, then shoot up! Shout out to Events Director, Michael, who is always friendly and helpful! Thank you for saying hi!

They do not allow adults in without children, which I'm so appreciative of. Liv helped me upon arrival and was very informative and patient while I waited for my party. It's basically an old house. When you walk in to the left in the "dining room area" is a big table with a train track- my 18 mo old has zero interest in that so half the place is already not applicable to us. There is a tiny slide set to climb up that takes up the whole 2nd room. The 3rd room is stuffed to the brim with Nuggets- but the problem is that there are so many there isn't really enough room to spread them out and build anything with them- also, they smell :-/ no windows on the inside so as if it doesn't feel claustrophobic enough this makes it worse. If there are more than 4 kids in the whole place then it feels crammed- and gets loud. They do have a small outdoor area with a sand pit but you can find something better at the park. Overall not worth the trip over from Pasadena...

Before the class starts, the instructor gives a clear demo, and throughout the session, there are screens showing techniques step-by-step, so kids can comfortably follow along and adapt at their own pace. Nothing feels difficult or intimidating. The instructor quietly walks around, making sure each child has what they need and offering support without interrupting their creative flow. They're attentive, calm, and truly professional. The pricing is a bit on the higher side, but totally worth it for the quality of instruction and support. Check for promotions or deals. Overall, it's a relaxed, well-organized space where kids can enjoy creating freely and parents can feel at ease. We had such a great experience and would definitely come back

(Mine too) We recently hosted our other daughter's 5th birthday party. She had 10 friends who ALL had an amazing time. All of the parents and kids loved the freedom they had to create. Everyone thought it was such a fun and unique experience. Everything went smoothly we had time to paint, eat, have desserts and take fun pictures with Props. Lastly both the owners are kind and so very Helpful. Special shout out to Michael. Always so pleasant, helpful and just a good time. The music is also a vibe in here! We love it and our kids do too! I'd never been to one before but had a chance to go with a group that was going. What the heck, a new life experience, and it turned out to be a good one. The Bob Baker Marionette Theater is the longest continuously running puppet theater in the USA. It's a non-profit organization, so that's even more reason to support it! It was a wonderful experience. We saw the Winter Wonderland show. They change the shows throughout the year. The show is super family-friendly, and "children of all ages" will thoroughly enjoy it. I was really impressed with how tight the show was. Each scene was about three minutes long (it seemed) and there were no gaps, just non-stop marionette action. I have no idea how they keep track of everything backstage. My hats off to the entire crew for keeping it all together and putting on a seamless show. You can meet the puppeteers before and after the show. They are so nice and uber talented! It's a small theater. Not a bad seat in the house. There are even tables and chairs in the back part of the theater. There are pillows on the floor right at stage level for the kids so they get the best view possible. Also, there's a gift shop that helps support the theater. Very reasonable prices. Credit cards only. You've got to do it. At least once! ...and then you're probably going back again...bringing some new friends along to enjoy the experience! You want another reason to go? They gave us free ice cream after the show!!

There's something so heartwarming and wholesome about seeing a bunch of people of all ages having fun and smiling during these performances. I always get a tiny bit emotional at the collective effervescence in this place. At the beginning of their Winter Wonderland Holiday Special, one of the marionettes tells you to "let the outside world fade away" while you're enjoying the show - and im pleased to say it's so easy to do that while these marionettes are dancing and frolicking in front of you. If you're on the fence about getting tickets to a show, just do yourself a favor and get them. The shows are always so well done, with my favorite being the Halloween Spooktacular. The performances range from funny to heartwarming to a tiny bit racy, with a particular black or pink cat and her hijinks among the audience. Speaking of the audience, if you sit in the very first row, the marionettes may come up to you and sit in your lap, take your hat off, or even shimmy in your face. It's different every show and it's always fun to see the audience reactions. If it's not obvious from my review, I love it here and hope they're around forever.
