My stylist Jo was so patient with me and did her best to make me happy. I'm a night shift nurse and showed up to my 9 am appointment running off fumes. I went in to be honey brown but walked out with three different colors in my head and my hair was dark brown (what I walked in with) when the service was done. I was told to wait three days and then wash my hair and it should be lighter. So I waited even though I know that's not how it works. And to my surprise it wasn't lighter at all. So I texted the stylist off of Instagram and told her what was going on and that I just wanted a refund. She said no refund was possible at all. So I called the shop to speak to the owner and she was giving me so much attitude for no reason. They aren't the one walking around town with ugly hair that doesn't look good at all. I highly DO NOT recommend this salon to any curly girls because they don't know shit about curly hair, black girl hair, or any textured hair. All this salon is worried about is making money they don't care about anything else. Who charges $80 for a trim. To me that's ridiculous. Do not just trust what they tell you about their specialties. Paid over 300.00 and you could not even tell my hair had been done, it actually looked worse than before this service. After realizing the low lights were not dark enough (clear inadequate color choice), the stylist brushed on darker color directly to the crown of my head AFTER the foils (highs and lows) had already been processed, removed, rinsed and blow dried essentially giving me 3 inches of what looked like bad roots, not even trying to blend in some more lows as damage control.... The cut/style was not even close to what I asked for and even though she took pics at the end of the session, it was no surprise they did not make it to their website. EPIC MISTAKE!! I absolutely love this place!!! If anyone in CC can fix a at home hair dye gone wrong it's this place and specifically- Genesis!! I had both henna in my hair, and I tried to self correct with bleach at home, and my hair was a mess, patchy, orange, and yellow. I looked up some reviews on this place and went into to get my hair dyed a more natural and even warm blonde and Genesis did the most amazing job!! She spent hours on my hair slowly stripping away all the old color and making sure not to toast my hair. It's a couple months later and I'm still absolutely obsessed with it!! My hair feels soft, the color lasts, and I get compliments on it constantly! I've never been one to leave a bad review but it's been a little over a week and I still get upset looking in the mirror after my haircut at planet Sol. I had come in for just a shag haircut with curtain bangs but ended up asking if she could tone my roots since I had already bleached them myself and I had an event to be at the next day. My bleached hair was very very light with just a slight tint of orange and after the toner she used my roots were an ugly brassy dirty blond color that was about two to three shades darker than the rest of my hair when I said multiple times I wanted my whole head ash blonde. The haircut wasn't really what I wanted she only put about 2 layers in my hair when I specifically asked for a very choppy layered shag. Once she was done I asked her to make it more choppy and she cut about 4 small pieces and called it a day. Whatever, I don't like to complain and it looked OK even tho it wasn't what I wanted or so I thought. She had curled my hair so I couldn't tell but after showering I could see that it was not a shag at all, there were very few layers and they were all so long. One side of my head had layers twice as short as the other side of my head also. I'm very disappointed. I showed multiple pictures of what I wanted and was very descriptive so I'm not sure how this was the result. The total came to $73 way more than this mess deserved read more

I had a Brazilian Blowout Tuesday night with Andrea and this was my hair after work the next day. I haven't even washed it or done anything to it yet. My hair isn't even usually this wavy the day after I straighten it. When you say guaranteed for 12 weeks, what does that mean? I'm really disappointed so far after spending almost $400 on this and I didn't experience this the last time I had one done. Andrea and everyone were super nice but I'm really disappointed after seeing how it didn't hold up in yesterday's humidity. Definitely not worth the money. What's the point of guaranteeing satisfaction for 12 weeks when I couldn't get through 24 hours. I've tried their email but it bounces back and the chat bot just said it's not a straightening treatment. Sea-Jay is an artist, plain and simple. I have super thick, wavy/curly hair, and I had been cutting it myself since quarantine started. It had become a total disaster with uneven, choppy layers. I was prepared to cut it extra short to start fresh since I had made such a mess of it, but Sea-Jay said she could easily fix it without chopping it all off. The cut is so lovely - bouncy and lightweight, while still keeping the length and volume I love. She blew it out on the day of the haircut, which looked gorgeous, but it even looked great when I washed it and styled it curly too! Usually you can't have it both ways! Had a 9am appointment with Joann. She was a few minutes late. Friendly and informative. Recommended a keratase treatment for my hair. Thus far, I really like what the treatment has done to smooth and soften my hair. Wanted the dead ends trimmed which would have been about 1.5". So I was extremely nervous trying out a new salon because I'm super protective of my blonde hair and even more nervous because everyone there had dark hair. Today though Makayla blew me away with her mad Barbie skills! This is the absolute best my hair has ever looked! All the staff was extremely sweet to me as well! To start off my hair colorist was McKayla. I loved the blonde balayage she did on me back in February. This June I felt like I needed a drastic change and I wanted to go cherry red. She was all for it and very supportive. In the pics below I included the inspiration pic I showed her. I knew from the beginning that this would be a hard transition especially from a blonde balayage. However, I was reassured it would come out great. After my appointment on June 2nd I wasn't fully satisfied with my hair only because I actually didn't want the dimension it had I wanted a solid color but I decided to let it be. Less than a week later (June 9th) I had to go on a get it redone because it started to look purplish/pink highlights where the blonde used to be. Now June 23rd my hair has greenish/blue streaks along with brown streaks. Unfortunately, I have decided part ways with the salon and not have it redone here. The biggest disappointment is that I had to pay more than $200 to go from blonde balayage to something I was not satisfied with and pay even more now to have it fixed. read more

Found this salon on Yelp and decided to take my girlfriend to it. I can personally say that this is a one of a kind salon! You feel instantly welcomed as soon as you step through the door. The waiting room has complimentary coffee and drinks, which got me through the wait with my girlfriend lol. As for my girlfriend's experience, she said it was the best salon she had ever gone to! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I had an appointment on the books for a month for a cut and color, knowing I had an event to go to the next morning. I was a bit concerned when Corpus Christi was having severe weather and power outages but was relieved when, 2 days before my appointment, I received an email confirmation and then the day before, a text, asking me to confirm I was still able to make my scheduled appointment. Fast forward to 4pm when I showed up for my appointment to find a empty salon. My main complaint is that they know they have a system for confirmations and failed to treat their customers with the common courtesy of either turning off their system or calling to cancel in person. At 4pm on Friday, I failed to find anyone to cut and color my hair. There is ZERO excuse for their lack of respect for their clients. read more

I was due for a trim and to brighten up my highlights. I made an appointment on line. Was contacted the next day and confirmed my appointment with Victoria. I was anxious but excited. I was sent a confirmation text the day before (I appreciate those) and I confirmed. I showed up a few minutes before my appointment time and was informed I would be preserving the condition of my shirt and donning one of their smocks...I can appreciate that, soon after that I met Victoria and we briefly went over my expectations and consultation. Soon after, the transformation began...4 hours later...(to be expected considering I got Balayage, toning, shampoo, cut, blow dry and style...products bought), my makeover was complete! Not impressed with this place. They give you discounts for leave good reviews online (which is probably why they have so many). I'm new in town and came in for a haircut. I just needed my hair trimmed to a shorter length - nothing crazy, but I came prepared with pictures and a specific length in mind. The girl spent forever cutting, but when I left ($60 later), my hair was the exact same as it was before I came in. Every suggestion I made or question I asked was quickly dismissed in a way that made me feel a little stupid for asking. Every time I gently reminded her of the length I was looking for (just above my collar for work), she insisted she was doing what I asked. Ultimately, I had to spend another $50 somewhere else to actually have it cut. Pros: They did get me in quickly (same day), the place was clean despite strange appearance from the outside, and staff was nice. The place isn't horrible and I'm sure other stylists are better than others, but I won't be back. read more

I was quoted a much lower price which I thought was reasonable and then went to pay and the price had jumped about $100 more than I thought. They were not honest about what they were doing and gave me semi-permanent instead of permanent hair color. I feel like I was scammed into paying much more than I should have. Kenia/Sol teamed up to give me the look I was going for and I will certainly be back for hair services My facial: 4 stars. My skin looks nice and feels soft but there were areas for improvement. I wish I knew what was being put on my face as there were many creams/masks/goops put on me and as someone who values their skin it would have been nice to know up front what was being put on it. The facial itself felt a little amateur but overall I'm pleased with my skin and that's all that matters. No extractions though. My Mani/ Pedi: 2 stars. Absolutely not! Went in for a full got a partial if that. Went in for platinum blonde, it's yellow. Asked for no streaking, said specifically, "I really hate streaky hair" I now look like a tiger. I have splotchy areas as well. Right at my temple, so it's super noticeable. The under layer of my hair is entirely brown. I showed pics, asked questions, tried to be super specific, was met with agreeable understanding. "Not a problem!" I am told the next time they will do more and then I will have the coverage I am looking for??? But I'm not even close. I was suspicious when she didn't do center foils and there were only about 6-7 on each side and each back side. She said she did very fine pulls. Nope. Then I get home and do my hair the next day and she missed an entire section in the cut that I had to get fixed. Called the next day to give them a chance to fix it or at least look at it, the stylist didn't have availability (although when I was there she said if I didn't like the toner she used, to just give a call and she would fix THAT!). They offered to have the owner fix but I could not find any examples of her work online and when I was there she was using a bottle for dying a client and it made me uneasy. I declined. I asked for them to please work me in if they could at any point, waited over a week and nothing. In casual salon conversation sharing business knowledge the owner showed me how she controls all the google reviews that come in. That's not ok. I promise you this is not for you if you want an full blonde highlight! Totally disappointed. And feel hoodwinked by their reviews and Instagram account. read more
