I was a first-time member at Planet Fitness Logan for seven months as a Black Card member. While the early morning staff were friendly and helpful, the overall experience ended on a sour note. When I canceled my membership because of a move, I discovered that despite paying for a full month of premium Black Card services, Planet Fitness strips away those privileges immediately upon cancellation. This means I couldn't access the red light therapy or hydro massage machines I had already paid for. I feel completely cheated out of services, and it's unfair to loyal, paying members like me. If you're considering a membership, especially the Black Card upgrade, I strongly recommend getting written confirmation that you'll retain full access to all privileges through the end of your paid period. Without it, you might find yourself paying for perks you can't use, as I did. Corporate executives, please rethink this policy. Alright gym and customer service. Predatory business practices using low cost and affordability as a selling point, while loading up hidden fees. This gym was so packed it was unbelievably hard to get any sort of workout in. Multiple people waiting for every machine. Also, who created the layout here cuz it's messy at best with arm machines and leg machines haphazardly placed all over. The stretching area could fit maybe 5 people comfortably. You're manager Tammy is by far the worst manager I've ever come across. She lacks customer service, grace, sympathy, compassion and any good quality to run your business. Throughout all the reviews, Manager Tammy is a big root of your problem. I called to discontinue my service since breaking my back (potentially reactivating my account) , and policy is that I must come in to do so. When I said I was unable to drive to come and sign to freeze service, Tammy said "I don't care" and hung up the phone. How rude and inconsiderate is this woman? She is Driving off good paying customers because she is a rude, inconsiderate person. I would deter anyone from entering this establishment and look elsewhere for a fitness center. Do not support this store because time and time again, people have said their issue is the management (Tammy) and how she treats paying customers, and nothing has been done to make things better. Her bad management skills are seen with a very dirty establishment (locker rooms are horrendous), and employees that won't even acknowledge or talk to you. Everytime I've been to this planet fitness it's always been a negative and rude experience from their staff. Most recent visits I came in as a guest. I previously had a membership but ended up canceling due to the fact that I moved to another state. Every time I came back one of their staff members miraculously remembers my face and tells me that I'm not allowed there anymore? The confrontation was rude and very unprofessional. Their tone was disrespectful while I was asking about how to get to the bottom of it. The representative's attitude convinced me that it really wasn't worth it to get into a verbal argument so I left and haven't been back. In response to the customer service response - it is not at all about the money, I don't care about a couple of bucks. It's the principle and conduct of being treated like a human, not a contract. The agents in June and October had said it was cancelled each time respectively or else were not trained enough to clearly articulate the difference - I felt unsafe going in with the mask-less practices of this location. Consider this, I went from a very happy and content black card member who referred maybe a dozen people to never being willing to join again solely because of Tina. Tina was rude, dismissive, and wildly unprofessional (again, see calling me ridiculous and threatening me). Avoid they are an subscription trap! I have been a member of Golds, 24hr fitness, multiple crossfit gyms, and mom and pop gyms. Planet fitness preys on the fat, lazy, and busy. You have to physically walk in or send a certified letter to cancel your subscription. I am a disabled combat vet with multiple tbi's. I have documented cognitive and memory deficits. I started receiving letters that my membership has not been paid or cancelled. So, I called to cancel my membership and explained that I have tbi, but that I was fairly sure that my membership was supposed to be canceled. The manager that I spoke with said that I had to pay the back dues of $40 and physically come in and sign or send a certified letter. She also stated that they do not wave anything period. I have had gym memberships for over 30 years and Planet fitness is the only gym that I have ever had an issue like this with. I knew that I shouldn't have ever joined a gym that puts out pizza and candy. Unfortunately, Logan didn't have much to offer gymwise at the time. Solid gym. Really like the staff, clean and working equipment. Always a comfortable temperature with sanitary locker rooms. The manager and team members are honestly delightful, and nice to see and chat with everyday. I made a membership a few weeks ago, and then had an emergency and fractured my wrist to where I knew I wasn't going to be able to use it, I called the gym and asked to cancel it 2 days after making it, I was told to cancel online, it wouldn't let me so I went in and the workers refused to help me, I never got to use the membership, a few days AFTER all of this I got a bill for $20, I asked them why and they said it's a late fee, but my bill wasn't due till the next month, over the last month I've called and asked to speak to a manager and have been told over and over excuse after excuse that the manager isn't available, or she won't speak to me. This is the lowest rated gym in Logan for a reason. Always read reviews before you walk into a gym! Have always gotten along with all the employees at this gym, but some are far under qualified/ trained will basically tell you what you want to hear to get you out of there face! Just called in wondering why I'm still getting charged months after I froze account, and Tami (The gym franchise owner) basically called me a liar. I went on to say I'm no longer in contract with y'all. Which she responded saying I never was in contract! Even though anyone with half a brain knows you sign a one year contract when you start your planet fitness membership. I figured at least she'd know if she started the franchise. I guess not? Described to her who I talked to, saw him every time I went into the gym. She called me a liar again and said she doesn't have a single person who works there that fits that description. Tami gets and F for her professionalism, figured with me being a loyal customer for years now she'd at least hear me out! Turned out she wouldn't even let me get a word out, told me I had to bring in a doctors note to freeze and account (which I did) and insulted my character by saying she knows exactly what I'm doing trying not to pay. They do have a super cool dude named Randy that works at the front desk though, if you're looking for a good footwork coach! Definitely don't go in if you're looking for a good gym that respects there customers though. Planet Fitness's weak subscription cancellation and refund options during a pandemic show that they care more about their profits than their customers. Planet Fitness froze subscriptions when it closed due to the pandemic. This was a great move. However, Planet Fitness then automatically started charging again when they reopened, despite the fact that many people were and are still avoiding public spaces due to active Covid cases. This would have been fine if they'd made it easy to cancel your subscription remotely. However, they did not: the only way to cancel has been in-person or by mail. If you ask me, this is not what caring about your customers looks like. Enabling phone or internet-based cancellation options is extremely easy to do these days, and they really ought to think about at least implementing them during a pandemic. In a similar vein, there are also no refunds. Refunds are already basic protocol for many subscription-based services, and it boggles the mind that Planet Fitness doesn't refund customers during a national crisis and with such limited cancellation options. Right now, it simply doesn't matter what the circumstances are when people (who have not been using Planet Fitness's services) ask for a refund. As a company that champions health and wellness, you'd think that Planet Fitness would recognize that. Overall, based on their current cancellation and refund policies, it's plainly apparent that Planet Fitness is more focused on making profits than working with their customers during a difficult time. read more

I've been coming to this gym for 6 months and my husband 8 years. We get the black card membership which lets you bring a guest for free and I'm the guest when I go with my husband. We were told today that I had to sign a form every time I come and we've never had to do that. We explained that we've never done that before and were told by the manager that we've been doing it wrong and she wouldn't listen to us. Well I was going to write that planet fitness was a good go to gym in my small town (since there aren't much cheap options). Until this rude awakening I was met with. It was going really well, until one of the staff members brought up a problem with my membership not showing up in the computer in the rudest way posible. She talked to me like I was a criminal, when I tried to explain that I signed up online a month ago and I even had the keycard, she called me out as a liar in front of all the staff (which have seen me come in for the past month as well) I was trying to be civil as possible to her but she made it very difficult, made it very uncomfortable for me to be there as well. Literally the worst customer service ever. It's weird to me because my mother loves going to planet fitness and says that she alway greets her and talks to her in a respectful manner but every time she talks to me, she almost always talks to me in rude and unprofessional way. I have been going to this Planet Fitness for about 8 years (and recruited several friends to join). I used to love the staff - they were always super friendly - and the manager was kind and helpful. Several months ago, however, this new older lady with braces was hired and she is terrible. She was incredibly rude and dismissive toward me about an issue that I have never had a problem with ANY of the other staff (or management) about (IN, I reiterate, EIGHT YEARS). I hate to be rude but I really hope they get rid of her soon. This woman should not be in any type of customer service job. Scrolling through these comments and I see that Alivia T. had a problem similar to mine with a person acting the same way - I'm assuming that this is the same woman and it really upsets me if she is management. Please do not sign a contract here. They get you to sign a contract for a year and then in tiny lettering it includes that they will charge you monthly even after the contract ends!! They refuse to refund any of this money. It's extremely sketchy and a horrible business practice. When I complained about this they simply wrote me off. They do not care about their customers.
