JDB Cabinetry - So many drawers... :)

(TLDR: Hire him. You won't regret it.)…read more We blame Josh for kick-starting the full remodel of our kitchen... ha ha ;) Our 1980's kitchen made it difficult to find a new refrigerator that would fit in the existing space. We called Josh and he measured to figure out what to trim for the fridge we wanted, took away the too low upper cabinet, cut it down at his shop, brought it back and re-installed it. You couldn't even tell that he had cut it! We were stoked to get our new fridge and have it fit into the custom space Josh created. Fast forward a couple months and we thought -- well, maybe it's time we do the whole kitchen? We hired a general contractor who suggested some cabinet suppliers - we got quotes from $8K - $35K+ for pre-fab cabinets. Because of our space and the stock options these cabinet suppliers provide, we were going to end up with smaller cabinets/less storage than we already had and with a design that we just didn't love. No thanks. At that point we thought, well, maybe we could work with Josh again? But we were nervous that custom cabinets would be out of our budget. We asked Josh to come to our house to talk through some options (mind you, no other supplier would) and he did. He LISTENED to us and what we wanted, was transparent about pricing and offered options that worked within our budget. He got back to us quickly with a quote, and we went for it. If you need ideas, he's your guy. We didn't change the footprint of our kitchen, but we now have more storage -- all because Josh came up with great suggestions like a cookie tray/cutting board cabinet next to our dishwasher where other suppliers would have left us with a filler/dead space. He also went above and beyond in paying attention to details -- he built a box in the same material as our new lower cabinets to surround the existing beam on our ceiling so it matched. Talk about tidy and clean - he took great care in covering all surfaces and being extra careful not to ding anything, he also swept and vacuumed each day when he left! If you have ANY questions he's always there to answer them with patience -- his communication is clear, concise and fast. Was JDB Cabinetry the cheapest option, no. Was JDB Cabinetry the most expensive option, nope - definitely not. Especially considering how much work and time he put into communicating with us and coming up with ideas on top of designing and making our cabinets. Are we stoked with what we ended up with - YES. I'm still walking around pinching myself that we have the kitchen of our dreams. We really couldn't be happier and we would recommend Josh time and again for any cabinetry work. He is second to none.

His measurements were perfect, he was able to pivot and improvise with us on our custom build and was just an absolute professional through it all. We are looking forward to working with him on other future projects (ie. cabinet built-ins and closet remodels).

Paul is friendly and knowledgeable, and Kennedy is always responsive, answering all my questions promptly. Andrew and Miguel were the installers, and they were friendly and polite, which made the process even easier than I expected. They were also very respectful of the space and extremely careful when moving things around the house. Their installation work was flawless. The transformation turned out exactly how I hoped. They truly brought my vision to life. I chose a greenish-gray color that complements the rest of my home, and I was going for a super modern look--they delivered exactly what I imagined. This company clearly cares about his customers, and at no point did I feel pressured. Refacing made so much sense! They can reface all the cabinets throughout the house, not just in the kitchen. That's what I did, so make sure to ask about their full home services. I only had to empty the cabinets for less than a week, and now I get to enjoy the bathrooms, laundry room and a kitchen that feel completely new. Thank you!

FGY Stone & Cabinet

We just moved into our new home and we are very happy with how the remodeled kitchen came out. The…read morecabinets and engineered stone counters were from FGY and were very reasonably priced for the quality. Our order was fairly large as we added an island and a whole new wall of cabinets on the other side of the room with pantries and upper/lower cabinets with glass doors and wine racks. My contractor, who works for a high end construction company, thought the box construction of the cabinets was very good considering these are not custom made cabinetry. Let's be honest, I have done my share of kitchen remodels for 20+ years in rental properties, so cheap Chinese cabinetry I am quite familiar with. So, I was leery as to how the look would come out since I wanted to use materials that are appropriate for my home that is in the 1.5M to 2M market. Would my kitchen scream "Chinese cabinets used here!"? I have to say, a resounding NO!!! We went with the white raised panel cabinets for the nice detail (tired with the shaker look) and paired it with black counters and the kitchen is quite stunning with just the led lights in the glass door cabinets and under cabinets on at night. Robert assisted us from start to finish and he was very patient and helpful. We made many alterations over the course of a few months and he was very understanding. Thanks Robert!!!! I would certainly recommend that you check out FGY for your cabinets and counters before any of the other frankly Chinese supply shops around the Bay (Sincere is way too expensive). I won't knock FGY for it but I would say their cabinet handles/knob selection is limited in my opinion. Now, this seemed to be a common problem with a lot of the shops since they didn't have much in stock either. I ended up finding some really nice knobs/cup pulls from Amazon.

FGY was very competitive with their prices and the quality of their cabinets and countertops were very good. We worked with Julia who was VERY professional, polite and patient as we changed our minds many, many times. They were fast to get us scheduled to install the cabinets, countertops, sink and backsplash and we were very impressed with the workmanship which only took them a little over a day to install. We highly recommend FGY to anyone looking for a bath or kitchen remodel.
