My son, who's 8 years old, has been taking classes at the School of Rock for a couple of months…read morenow.. and I have to say, I really don't think he's ever loved anything more. He started with just one on one singing lessons, and then a few weeks back he added the rock 101 class. He is just absolutely loving it all. He practices every day himself, and is always so excited on lesson days. We're actually adding a bass class to his regimen now, because he just can't get enough, and wants to be there more days out of the week than not. Lol. It's nice, because he's going to be taking them with the same instructor, and building a relationship is really important for him to feel comfortable and do well. So, now he'll have Rock 101 (where he sings/plays with other students), one on one singing lessons, and one on one bass lessons, one of each a week. I have a feeling that that's still not gonna be enough for him ha ha.
I'm so glad that we found this place when hes still so young, as it's had such a positive impact so far, and I'm sure it will continue to. I have a feeling that we are going to be coming here for many, many years to come.
All the staff is also amazing, and so friendly. Garrett, the gen manager in the front, is so great, helpful, and fun to talk to!. Jackson has been a great teacher, and is so good with my son, who does have mild autism as well as ADHD, and can be a bit challenging, but that doesn't seem to have been an issue at all for Jackson. He initially had Maya as a singing instructor, just for the first couple lessons at the beginning. She was great too, but then she had to focus more on school, and stopped teaching for a bit.
I definitely highly recommend the School of Rock, for kids of any age, as well as adults... especially if you have a little one who loves music, and needs something that'll really give them a confidence boost, this is definitely the thing to try. And the first lesson is free! Give them a try, you won't be disappointed, I guarantee it.
