Our instructor, Michael Liganor is phenomenal and I kept thinking how blessed we were to have him. I told him I learned so much just on my first day of lectures. He definitely could get picked up to be a Medical Director or some other fancy title of a hospital but he was here.... With us! Blessed! The school makes it easy to sign up and get paperwork done. They also offer students of the school discounted classes so take advantage! Tiffany, Sun and Michael are super effective communicators and are very helpful and can answer all your questions about CNA, or any of the many classes they offer. TIP: if you can take the BLS class at the school it is cheaper.

She truly has a strong passion for teaching this CMA course and she is great at it. She is the epitome of compassion, professionalism, and respect. I feel that this school needs to upgrade its lab equipment because a lot of it is outdated and not provided for students in bulk. Students need to practice as much as they can in this program before getting out in the real world and more lab equipment would help this so we can get more practice before performing different things on people. The second concern I have about this program is the amount of trouble my graduation class has faced from trying to obtain an externship. There was a strong lack of professionalism and efficiency because many students did not have a definite commitment to an externship up to our last lab day which is not okay. The second time is the same thing except all the paperwork is in and they're taking their sweet time to issue the completion certifcate so he can take the national exam. I don't know who's not doing their job over there but this is getting ridiculous as he completed the course over 30 days ago. My son called yesterday and they stated they sent him an email letting him know something was missing to issue the certificate. He in fact didn't recieve any email so he went to the school to see what the issue is. They actually never sent an email because they already have everything they needed from him to issue the certificate. They said they were waiting on a director or someone to do their job which is frustrating as my son quit his job to take this course. My son is NOT alone in this as only one of has classmates have their certificate.. DON'T waste your money on this school if you actually want to be successfull and take your national exam within a timely manner after completing the EMT course.

Signed up and registered online for this class, due to me expecting a newborn soon. I'm not in the…read moremedical field and needed general knowledge of how to perform CPR. This class went over first aid and CPR, mainly the basics given a certian situation. Since all situations will be different being able to recognize some signs we're helpful. The instructor Tricia was expressive and engaging, the 4 hour class flew by quickly with an information dump of how-tos, both in video format and with partner demonstrations. There were room for questions after each section and each answer was informative. Luckily they provide a take home manual that summarizes the slides you'll be going through if you forget. Bring snacks and drinks (closed tops/bottles), as you'll get breaks in between, though they do offer some for sale. Overall great class and definitely recommend it either for a first time, refrehser or if you need the most basic form of certification.

There is some street parking behind the garage but it goes quickly so it is probably a good idea to get a permit. I'm enrolled in a Linux Administration class because I usually work professionally in the Windows Server environment, but I needed a refresher on working in Linux to update my skills. I usually prefer self study over instructer led courses, but they offer a hybrid course here. There is a lecture along with self study and exams on netacad.com (actually, this is also available independent of the instructor led course via a virtual campus). In my case, I need the isolated structure of the classroom to help keep me focused on learning this material. They also offer a certificate if you complete all of the courses in a particular group (if you need or want that).

This is San Diego's best kept secret. Here, anyone who is 18 or older can take free computer…read moreclasses with no grades or tests. Be sure to attend all classes and they used to provide certificates of completion as along as you have perfect attendance for the class you are taking. (I'm not sure if they still do this.) Be sure to attend the first day of class about 1 hour before class starts to get a seat. There are only about 40 seats to a classroom. If you get there late, you might be sharing a computer with someone. And remember, it's important to tell all your friends, relatives and coworkers about this school. they get their funding through good attendance. From what I understand, they don't advertise. So please tell everyone you know that these classes are a great way to improve your computer skills. This nice thing about this school is they really want all students to do well. And the student has many options. If you don't like an instructor, just leave. If you ask questions, the instructors will try to help you. If you don't ask any questions, no one will respond to you. If you don't like the instructor, I would take the class anyway and see what you learn. Or if there is the same class with a different instructors, then take another class. As a student, you either make it a good place to take classes or a bad place to take classes. Also, remember, you can speak up and talk to the person next to you. They might know something you don't know or they might not know anything! And there are many free courses you can take online at other institutions around the world. Look it up on Google, type: free education. Or type in Google: free computer classes online for MS Word. Have you tried Khan Academy? It's a free place to take many different courses and there are no tests. Not only does North City Campus have computer courses which can be taken a la carte, but they also have several 9 month courses called their Certificate Program which require applying for in advance, and requires good attendance. These long courses are very well worth it because you are taking college level courses without paying a penny. There are many options, it's worth anyone's time to go there, ask questions and start learning to better yourself. North City Campus is something all cities in the USA should have. ---- About the parking at North City Campus and more. ---- For many years, probably over 20 years or more, the parking was free. It's a shame they are charging for parking, charging for parking makes no sense. If you are a student there, it's time to get some activism going and create a petition to stop the unfair charging for parking permits. The land is already paid for, they don't need to charge for parking. Note: Look at Steve G.'s review, it is not true. I've been attending this school since 1996 and it's a good school. Most instructors are excellent instructors and I've learned tons of information about computers and computer programs at this school. People think I'm a wiz at computers, which I am because I did take a multitude of classes here. In fact, I was able to start my own online business due to the classes I've taken at North City Campus. So Steve G.'s review is nonsense. Many people don't take the time to keep re-educating themselves throughout their lifetimes which is why they aren't good with computers or other skills. If you have a bad attitude (Like Steve G.), and you don't ask enough questions and don't enjoy learning, you'll never like this school or any school. Now take a look at Leo N.'s review. If this is true and it might be, all you students currently attending this campus need to start petitions and get the paid parking changed to free parking. When I started going to this campus in 1996, parking was always FREE. When they first built the new building with the multi-story parking lot on Aero Drive, the parking was FREE also. If you don't like something about this school, then let's change it. This school is paid by our California tax dollars and it used to also be funded by money coming in from the community colleges in this area. So, let's get them to change the paid-parking (which is complete nonsense) to free parking again! Don't just complain, do something about it.
