Alex is a solid man with a great view on life and an excellent barber. Plan B's aesthetic reminded me of the art district / punk clubs I would frequent as a youth. WORST HAIRCUT OF MY LIFE. A while ago I got a layered haircut as a woman by a young man that was clearly drunk and high. I could literally smell the beer off of him and his eyes were blood shot red. My first red flag should've been when the front desk asked if he was ok. First he washed my hair with ice cold water and then cut my layers horribly. I had people telling me that it looked like he gave me a non-committal bob because of how harsh and uneven the layers were. After the cut, I asked for it to be blow dried and he proceeded to give me the most aggressive blow dry and still my hair wasn't even completely dry. Would not recommend. read more

Plan B falls firmly into the latter version, with free-flowing conversations merging between the stylists and clientele without being exclusive. I discovered Plan B while exploring downtown Kelowna. After being unable to go to my normal place in Toronto, I figured I would stop in for a trim since I was in town for a wedding. Although I didn't know what to expect, I knew I made the right choice when they asked if I wanted a beer after booking the appointment. The owner, Casey, was able to take me as a walk-in even though the place was packed on Friday afternoon. He did a great job cutting my hair with minimal instruction on my part (razored shag, try to make me look not bad). As a new client, he made me feel comfortable by bringing me into conversations with the others people. He even managed to save my life by talking me out of cycling across to West Kelowna after polling everyone else and drawing a consensus of "Choose Life". My only regret is that getting another haircut would require hours of flying. The locals are lucky to have a place like this. read more

What a great salon/barber shop!! I am so happy I found this amazing place And I wouldn't get my hair done anywhere else now. They are extremely accommodating and got me in the same day I called. They have a traditional barber shop on one side of their space as well for those who are looking for that unique experience. Felicia recently cut and styled my hair. While staying with my daughter and son-in-law in Kelowna, I was treated to a hair cut with Felicia. I was very impressed with how she took the time to ask me questions about how I wanted my hair cut. I told her that I would just "leave it up to her" and she did an amazing job. I expected more from a salon that came highly recommended. I know what I like and I thought I'd give them a chance. The first haircut was good but I was surprised how quickly it took (20 minutes) and that the stylist used power clippers almost exclusively. The next time I was in and out in a shorter period and my haircut was so so. I felt that the stylist wasn't focused on the job at hand but rather on personal issues. The next and last time was a butcher job. I was asked what number of the clipper I wanted, either a 2 or a 3. For a second I thought I was at Super Clips. The haircut was rushed and when I got home I could see how the electric clipper took a large chunk out of the top. Within a day I made an appointment somewhere else to correct the mess. read more

I went in for a golden blonde balayage and left with grey purple and red streaky hair in terrible condition. I am 21. Went back 2 more times and am still left with ashy, unnatural hair in terrible condition. I am a natural blonde and this look makes me want to cry. I was treated to an exceptional colour and cut today by Carmen. I have difficult to cut/style coarse/thick hair and so does my son. She skillfully turned my unruly hair into something resembling fashion (*gasp*). My son looks good with his short fade. I saw many people being cut and styled here while I was in the chair for 3 hours and the people doing their jobs there know what they're doing. As my hair naturally pulls red it can be the most trying experience to find a stylist that can colour my hair accommodating this issue. However, after trying many high-end salons in Kelowna and master stylists, (dedicating at least a 8-12 months to each stylist)...It was such a RELIEF to be blessed by the hair goddess herself COURTNEY SCOTT!!!! On top of colouring my hair to perfection, Courtney gave me the most beautiful loose mermaid curls! I have long blond-ish hair and have had the same stylist back in LA for about 18 years, have tried others in between and been disappointed at all of them. I was desperate for highlights and a trim, found Plan B and all of it's great reviews so I took a chance. I explained my "nervousness" to the front desk staff and they suggested I see Jessica, so that's what I did. I have to say, she is amazing!! I have never had someone take such meticulous care with my hair and she listened to my thoughts about color and length, something stylists from my past did not do. I went from a yellowish blonde to a more smokey platinum and couldn't have done it without Jessica's expertise. Thanks Jessica!!! read more

I was in there recently despite the upbeat atmosphere and offering of beer from a girl that doesn't look of age, my hair got messed up. While getting my hair cut. The stylist had to ask someone for help more than once. My girlfriend also was getting her hair done at the same time. And the stylist. (Cara/Kara?) was not only rude. But did not seem to know what she was doing. My girlfriend left with her hair not a colour she wanted. And looked almost green. We both left unhappy. We asked to speak to a manager. And when the "manager" came over. He was more than rude. Used profanity and seemed annoyed to have to even deal with us. Never the less. We will not be returning to plan b. And I won't be recommending any of my friends to this place. If I could leave less than 1 star I would be!! Do not go here!! read more

Honestly I'm just not really as impressed with this place as I wanted to be. It had such good reviews so I thought I would give it a try but after leaving and looking at my hair at home I noticed that I was given 2 layers that were not blended into my hair at all. It wasn't what I had asked for and after consulting another hairstylist it was confirmed to be something that would need to be fixed. Overall I over paid for a haircut that I wasn't happy with. They have a policy to fix the cut but I won't be going back there to get my hair fixed by them. read more

I made an appointment for a hair cut. Arrived at Plan B on time had to wait quite a while for someone to acknowledge me. They told me my stylist was running a few min behind. I waited 35 minutes and my stylist was still not done with other client. So I left. They called me back 45 min after my hair appt was scheduled to ask why I left. Oh boy! They got the name right, Plan B. You definitely need a plan b when you make an appointment. Pretty bad when a walk in takes precedence over a scheduled appt. read more
