Famous beach along the azure coastline of Nice. This stretch is located at the SE edge of the city directly between Promenade des Anglais and the water, and begins the succession of pebbly beaches that extend westward toward the Côte d'Azur airport. Directly adjacent north of the promenade road are plenty of restaurants, hotels and shops, making it a convenient destination if you're staying in the area and looking to get some beach time in.
When I visited in January, the weather was in the high 50's, so not exactly beach weather though there were some braver souls doing a bit of sun bathing. Being a pebbly shoreline don't come expecting soft sand anywhere, and make sure to wear some sturdy shoes or sandals for walking since the ground is certainly not the most comfortable to walk barefoot on unless you're used to it.
If you head directly east along the main road and follow it to the hill (Castle Hill), there are signs and stairs that lead up to an "I Love Nice" sculpture and panoramic views of the beach. read more
