Never had a problem finding parking - facilities are clean, and they have a decent collection of Ella Fitzgerald and that type of stuff to check out. There is an after school reading program for the nearby elementary children (can't knock on that). Sure, the library's a bit antiquated, but it's a PUBLIC LIBRARY. If you're not making annual donations, sit back down and get back in line. read more

This is probably the worst library I have ever visited. It's tiny. There is NO study area. The only options you have to sit at are by the entrance where the noisy door is located. I thought libraries were supposed to be quiet. Let me tell you this one is NOT! Kids crying and adults having loud conversations. Now if you have to use their restroom good luck. I have NO idea how old those bathrooms are. And who knows when was the last time they were cleaned. I would never recommend anyone to come to this tiny library. It was a joke. The only good thing about it is that it's Opened on a Sunday. Other then that please don't come here to study!!! P.s. Really good small community library! The library has made a lot of improvements over the past few years and renovated. It is located in the suburb of Placentia just a couple miles from Cal State Fullerton. You can check out DVDs for free. It's open on Sundays when most libraries aren't. They have quiet study locations where no one bothers you. I was able to get a lot more studying done at this library compared to others. They offer free computer classes such as Excel every now and then. The staff is friendly. A decent collection of books. You can also suggest books. It's a pretty safe environment. I also like how there's a vending machine you can get food. read more

I love libraries. Books, for free. What more could you ask for? A little common courtesy perhaps. How about a little product knowledge? The first time I came in here, it was about 15 minutes before they closed. I knew which books I wanted, but I couldn't find one of them. They announced that they were closing, then that they were closed, and when I was walking up to the front to check out the books, one of the employees told me that I wouldn't be able to check them out. I asked why and she said because we are closed. I said you closed 30 seconds ago. And she said all the computers are turned off, we are closed. Holy crapt! I have never been to any store that does not take customers after they close. Not let new people in, sure. Turn off the lights and hassle you to leave, of course. But say you can't buy that because I couldn't wait a few minutes after we closed to turn off all the computers. Now I know the library is not a for profit business, but I mean come on. That is just crazy. I almost didn't come back. But the Fullerton Library (which I feel much more comfortable in) is sooo far from my house I decided to give this one another shot. It has not gotten much better, but I did learn my lesson and came in during the day, so I had plenty of time to browse. The Library itself is not very big, but they do have a great collection of YA books, many more new titles that Fullerton which is surprising. There is one book that has alluded me, I came in several times looking it and it was never where is should be. Maybe next time I will ask. One other major con before I'm done, they charge you 50 cents to hold a book for you. That's horrible! My most favorite thing about Fullerton, librarians doing the book shopping for you. And, if you want a book that is in the system (because Placentia and all the libraries in Anaheim are inter-connected) but not physically at Placentia, it's also a 50 cent charge. That adds up really quick. Which basically means you have to drive out to the other branch on your own, or wait years for a new book to be not new anymore so you don't have to request it. Some of those new books have 50+ requests. At three weeks per person, that's a long time to wait without paying that 50 cents. Sorry for the long rant, but apparently I had a lot to complain about. I am still giving the Placentia Library 3 stars because I support the library for what it is. A free house of books. read more

This library is great! I had never been here before today and checked it out because my usual library (fullerton) didn't have the books I wanted. Thankfully this library did and it's a lot closer! This library is located in the civic center/ police department parking lot and it's so clean and pretty with palm trees around it and stone, very well kept. It's not so big, but it's so nice and cozy inside with what seems to be kids arts and crafts hanging on the wall and beautiful paintings from people in the city. What I also liked about this is that Placentia library is linked up with a couple Anaheim libraries so you only need one card. Placentia and Anaheim also have a wide variety of FREE books that you can download onto your kindle or phone which I really like since you can never not have the book in. All in all I really like this library! read more

The Placentia library was my library growing up, so it's a bit nostalgic for me. Yeh it's super old looking and yeh the selection isn't that great, but they have free wireless now which is decent. They always have used books for sale in the front and the selection isn't bad and the prices are cheap (25 cents to$1.50)! I always browse this area once in awhile to expand my book collection for a time when I can finally read for pleasure. One annoyance though: study booths/tables are highly limited, especially if you want a plug in and there's this annoying buzz sound near the emergency exit sign at the left back area of the library. Unfortunately the study booths are there, so bring your headphones. read more

Honestly, I've been here so many times on the outside, and with my dog, but have never really walked in. So this review is for the outside until I walk in one day! haha... It's really nice and mellow outside, especially since it's right next to city hall and the police station, you have a good sense of peace while you are there, even at night time. There's a nice fountain, and it's probably a relatively nice place for photography as well. read more

Love that this place opens at 9am on weekdays and we recently attended their reading to dogs program. Each dog and their owner were seated in a horseshoe arrangement while kids meet and greet the dogs and owners. My kids loved reading to such a captive audience. I really love the Placentia library. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and they have a good selection of books and DVDs. I borrow DVDs most of the time, and they have a very good selection of both new releases and older DVDs (new releases 3 days, older DVDs are 7 days); inside the Placentia library is a coffee shop and also a used bookstore. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there is ample parking space. You may want to go to the library before 3:00pm when school children get out. Highly recommended. read more

Parking is always a breeze, and the people are nice for the most part. I never had any trouble finding an outlet for my laptop or with the Wi-Fi being slow. Yelpers are saying people go here to sleep but I've never heard/seen anything like that, might just be bc I wear headphones though. Went here to apply for my passport. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I had my picture taken and paid the $15- just to risk issue in the application process- but I received a notice that my picture did not meet the requirements! Going back for a refund for that service. I'd advise that others double check the picture submitted with applications to avoid the delay I am facing. read more

The Placentia Library could stand to be updated some, but overall I would say the library is efficient and enjoyable. They have a wide selection of books, and if they don't have it, they can pull it from a neighboring library and reserve it for your needs. This is a great library with a nice atmosphere, however at times it can be very noisy. The library staff are very welcoming, but they speak soooo loudly that you can hear everything they say throughout the library. Another problem is that the teens section gets filled up with teens whom are also very loud, and no librarian to quiet them down. Free wifi and parking with a nearby police station. I hate to have to say this, but there were less "transients" taking up all the space, so that was also a plus. Unfortunately the homelessness has become a real problem in California under gruesome Newsom, so addressing transients in public libraries is a must as well. The only downsides I have noticed with this library is that they have lost their "quiet space library feel." I wish this was the exception but it is not. You still have many people that were never raised or taught to respect others in the library and keep your voices down. I completely understand the kids section, that is understandably more loud but what I am talking about are the adults who think it's ok to have a conversation in here with their friends or on the phone. #Make_Libraries_Quiet_Again read more

I really like this library so far as a poor college students with no wifi... I can honestly say from Orange to Buena Park to Fullerton and Anaheim hands down they have the best area. I have been to a lot of libraries even in Newport and Costa Mesa all of Orange County. This one along with Fullerton are hands down the best. read more

This is a great library. I live right up the street so my daughter (under one year) and I like to go play and read when we are bored or it's too hot. I love that they have puzzles for the younger kids to play with! They have a great selection of kids books and it was so cute when the friends of the library had the basket promotion for infants to get their first library card. They have a great library bookstore as well. It's always a good sign for the community when a library is patronized so I applaud the library for having better hours than other libraries around; I always see a good amount of people reading or being tutored. read more

Moving to Placentia I was super excited to check out their library and was very disappointed. The books they have are for the most part old and if you are looking for teen reads you will not find any good ones here. I will take other Orange County libraries over this one any day. read more
